- I show you how to build a brick tree ring that will last for years. First, I put 2 inches of 3/4 gravel base for drainage and strong foundation, 2nd, I put 2 inches of fast-setting concrete. Fast setting concrete so I don't have to mix it with water. Then I put 4 layers of bricks and form a tree ring.
However, I did not level the concrete base thus had to fix my bricks later on.
I love fast setting concrete because it saves lots of time and effort from mixing.
I did the project in a weekend and reuse all of my old bricks.
This is great! I’m glad you showed your mistake so it helps people learn!! And the finished product looks great! I’m planning on building one of these this year.
Nice video and thanks for the tips on what to watch out for when putting in a tree ring.
thanks.
The verticals bricks are called a feature not a mistake.
I new it I just had to look.it up
Good idea about the vertical bricks!
Looks awesome!!👌
Basically this is how NOT to build a tree ring.... got it... thanks. First, you should have set up a foundation for it by building a mack up or the outline of it out of plywood. Than level it out, and fill it up with a quickcreet. Your base would have been leveled out at the begining. Instead, you leveled out the surface of the base, but not the base itself, that's why your second level was way off.
Thanks for the tip.
What are you talking about: mock up on plywood??
This video was such a failure it was funny
Good try.
Don't give up your day job.
