I'm not sure why this video is not on top. This is the best explanation about dental bonding/ composite veneers available here on youtube.
Totally! He just answers the question. Very cool! 😎
Believe or not, my bonding for my 2 front teeth was done in the Army in 2003 and they still look the same as the day it was done, no stains, no chips my dentist recently since then was amazed when I told him that. Go Army.
This dentist seems very nice and honest. I like him.
Mine is going on 15 years!! Thank the Lord! I've been told my bonding is so good, don't need crowns.
Omg...why is this video not on top...its all videos I've watched in one, this one being the best
understood explained wonderful 😊
Very useful information thank u
Excellent, succinct explainaton
Just the video I was looking for. Thanks sir 👍👌 doing my research
I feel better watching this 😩
My bonding has lasted me 9 years already :) this year I’m finally getting new ones 😁
Did it chip or did it discolour?
Avono nope nothing no chips or staines
@@Steph-yi4qc how to keep white?
Ballotas Camara the bonding color I chose was a natural so it was the closest color to my real tooth they aren’t super white, but not stained all I do is just brush them twice daily
@@Steph-yi4qc love u thanks
I wonder have dentists or dental scientists ever tried using a mix composing or including calcium phosphate seeing as that’s what teeth are naturally made of and may last longer?
thank you!
Doctor, I've a very small filling on my lateral incisors (just between the top lateral incisor and central incisor).. it was a stain for which I've done the composite fillings... How long it can last?? It's towards the gum....
Thank you 👍
I had dental bonding redone on a chipped front tooth (which previously had a root canal) and I’ve noticed recently that there’s some discolouration where the original tooth is. Can this be whitened or will I have to have the tooth bonded once again?
My two top front teeth are crowns if I wanted to get composite bonding on top and bottom to make my teeth look better and brighter can you compost bond on to existing crowns as part of the make over?
thanks
Hi! Do whitening strips or whitening gel work on bonding? Or is it a waste of time?
I've just had this done on two front teeth going back for the other two. When he showed me in the mirror they looked fantastic. However, I didn't have my glasses on and on further inspection, I have white patches on one more than the other. I am also experiencing sensitivity. What is your thoughts. He made an excellent job of a plate I had fitted so trusted him to do this although now I'm not so sure.
How is your front filling going
Hello there, sorry to hear about the troubles you're experiencing. At this stage, the only thing we can advise is for you to see a dentist and get it looked at.
Are veneers repairable easily? I got composite bonding done, it has slightly chipped which can be repaired. But should I continue with it or are veneers maintenance free and doesn't chip easily.
Had this done
I have had a bonded tooth last 35 years. The stuff is amazing. But like anything there are many factors as mentioned. Bonding is amazing.
Was a front tooth?
Which tooth exactly did you get the bonding repair?
@@valna6219 Front tooth
@@AttommicDog nice. that’s insane.
@@valna6219 I was a kid. The dentist said it would last 5 years. Boy was he way off. I finally got a real crown a year ago.
What about the new composite glass milling blocks. Would these have better success.
I had bonding on my 4 front teeth, however after 2 years they darkened significantly towards the top. My prosthodontist said that the only way to lighten them would be to remove them and get veneers. She mentioned that whitening the bonding could make them more porous and susceptible to more staining. My dad had his bonding done 30 years ago and it hasn't darkened. Wondering if you could share what is the best way to lighten bonding at home and how should I go about finding a dental professional who makes longer-lasting tooth bonding? Thank you!
I'd like to know the answer to that one too...I know anything I do to them will damage them...but mine have darkened where some of the bonding has come off near the top
How did your dad’s bonding not darken?
Hi Grace. What shade colour is the darkened area? Has that tooth received a root canal treatment? The only thing you can realistically do with composite bonding is to get it polished regularly by your dentist. If you're worried about the results from your usual dentist, maybe do a bit of research into big names in your area who do composite bonding and ask for a second opinion :)
Was it hard for you to start eating again like biting food in front of my four front have fillings and I’m terrified to bite food I cut it up and eat in the back. I’ve had them filled 3 days ago
@@kaysekline1352I done composite bonding more than 3 years ago and immediately gave up biting with my front teeth. It's all about self-discipline and priorities. 🙂
Can you remove composites if needed? You said that you’d add a composite to an existing one?
Yes, composite bonding can 100% be removed.
Had bonding done in 1997!!!! No problems. Just now showing some discoloration.
Was it a front one ?
Which tooth exactly did you get the bonding repair on?
I had composite bonding last only 2 days! The previous bond done by another dentist on the same spot lasted 5 years! What do you think happen? I also wear a nightguard.
Do they discolour ? X
Hi Glamma, it’s impossible to say - there could have been a problem with the bite, with the moisture control, the amount of tooth left, the polymerisation of the material... Each situation is different, there's many reason why this could have happened. Hope it's all sorted now!
In time, composites tend to accumulate staining, but you will have to go back to the dentist to get them polished every so often.
I'd love to hear anser to your question
@@blowingsmoke444 yes, mine have!
Hi there :) i just got it done today and I have no idea what do for aftercare . Any tips you can give me? Thank you so much 🥺
Any Update You Can Give Me ?
Be mindful of eating very stained foods in moderation, try not to bite into hard foods such as apples or pretzels, get them regularly polished by your dentist, try using our Evo-White toothpaste as it enzymatically breaks down stains.
I want composite bonding but I wear retainers every other night, can I still get bonding? Will I need to get a new set of retainers made after I get the bonding to fit the new shape of my teeth? Thank you!
You’ll get a new retainer made for you. I’m undergoing CB next week!
@@gkaur3723 Ah that's great thank you for letting me know! Good luck! I'm sure they're gonna look great! :D
That's correct - you definitely should get a new one which should fit perfectly.
my composite veneers get losen. I had my treatment only 6 months ago. I have to get a new veneer 4 times till January.. What is the problem and how long will my veneers last?
It's too hard to tell without seeing your teeth, your best bet would be to see a dentist and get them to assess properly.
I have my teeth worn down from grinding my teeth in my sleep at night would this suit me to put my teeth right
Hello! Yes, definitely. Composite bonding would work well for teeth that have been worn down.
I've had my bonding for 4 yrs, on the sides and also on my top two teeth to level them out...some of it has chipped near the gum line and that's where it has stained. Considering I am still paying for them, should my dentist sort this out for me for free?...I wasn't told even half of what I have learned from the this video and thought they were permanent!, they cost 3 grand for 4 teeth!
3grand for 4 teeth! WHAT! Madness
@@Cloud007. I know, my self esteem was through the floor and they knew it!...I was completely different in myself after they had done them and they arranged a payback loan through Hitachi...I am still paying for them and now I am conscious of the staining...my natural teeth underneath were not prone to staining before. I was never told I had to scrimp on certain drinks and foods...I was never told they were not permanent...nor was I told they had a span of only 2-7 years...I would have NEVER spent that much had I known.
@@plushypuppy2024
But Amanda, are you sure you got dental bonding, and not veneers or crowns etc? You paid the same price as veneers or crowns would cost. My dentist quoted me 100per tooth for bonding. Something is not right with your case
@@Cloud007. Yes I thought so too...no, this is definitely bonding...nothing was done to the teeth, she just layered it up with bonding
@@plushypuppy2024
That's a nuts price, it really is. Bonding is just a fancy word for "filling". I would do something about that if I were you - get in touch with them and find out what's going on. Get a solicitor involved, if necessary. The price you were required to pay is outragous.
Hi.. I'm from India , I'm on my last tray of invisiline alligner & have a small chip on my front two teeth. So I would like to do bonding to fill the chip two fronth tooth ,already consulted to dentist but dentist suggest my bite is not favourable it hit on the back of fronth tooth so it won't Last long , it will last between 6 month to year .she suggest for crown but i really want to preserve my natural teeth.so please guide me should i go for bonding or not.
It's alway advisable to maintain your natural tooth substance, so we would certainy not recommend a crown as a composite bonding alternative! A thin ceramic veneer could maybe work. We cannot advise with certainty without seeing you so we would recommend getting a second opinion if you are worried about the first one.
Hoe thin are they cos some ppl use retainers from orthodontics treatments?
Hello there, you would have to get a new retainer made.
So we are able to whiten the bonding?
Hi there! Once placed, the composite does not change colour, so it would be advisable to do the whitening before. Doing whitening afterwards, can potentially help keep the margins stain free, but you would have to ask a dentist.
@@enlightensmileschannel I had mine whitened before, but I have used whitener on the bonding since...is that why they have stained?..Dentists are so expensive I don't want to be overcharged again, if they need a polish then I suppose I'll just have to go back
Does alcohol disintegrate the bonding material?
Good question. The bigger luck for you is that many dentists will tell the uniformed person before then video all the opposite of this video. I asked a destist who recently did extractions on my tooth today about composite bonding. He said its not worth the expense because they only last "A few weeks or months at best". And that my best option for my crooked teeth are to get braces or spend $6,000 on invisalign. He said that composite doesnt fully bond to teeth well enough and that eventually i wouldn end up wasting my money. I had said yeah but i dont have 6,000 dollars and I'm okay with a straight temporary smile. It sounds not smart but shit if i could straightent my teeth today for no more then $2,000 or $3,000 i would. I would take care of them as best as i can and come back to touch them up. To me its still a waste of money long term at best these things lasts nore more then 4 years based on many peoples diets and lifestyle and so just your better off making the one time expense of getting braces or invisalign if you have 5k-6k . and get your teeth straight rather then making them look pretty. And if you go with bonding im thinking you want to just move like your the shit for 4 years maybe you become successful because of your fake teeth bonding impression on people and people will donate $1 dollar to you.
@@spookynuts7148 what will happen after three years, do u have to pay again to put new bonding
Hi Mercedes, alcohol does not disintegrate the composite material.
Good composite bonding can look at its best for 5-7 years after which it can be polished, fixed, replaced, whatever it's needed. You are likely to have to have it redone at some stage, but it should last a while longer than 3 years. How long good composites lasts really depends from person to person based on many things including aftercare, diet, habits, grinding, etc.
Is it normal for the bonded part of the tooth to feel loose?
No, it most certainly should not feel loose. It may be a good idea to chat to a dentist and get them to check.
How long will this bonding be last to fill 1mm gap between premolars?
Hey, did you find any answer?
Can I eat burgers with the composite filling on my front tooth?
Yes, you can eat burgers - just be mindful of biting into hard foods like apples, pretzels, etc.
Do they create bad oral smell? Just worried to have it .
Did you find an answer?
How long do front chipped tooth filling last?
Hello Ana, it depends on the situation, on diet, tooth grinding habits and oral hygiene. So it's hard to tell, usually dentists say around 5-7 years.
