Continuing from the last episode, I will take you further into the world of Chinese breakfast foods.
Chinese restaurants have opened all around the world, but the dishes served there are typically Chinese lunch and dinner foods. So, what do Chinese people eat for breakfast? Very few people know.
This video captures a breakfast street in a northern Chinese city. This street includes almost all the common breakfast foods of northern China. Every morning from six to nine, a steady stream of people come here to buy breakfast and start their day.
Many of these foods are made using techniques passed down for hundreds of years. Ordinary people use the simplest ingredients, with the most perfect combinations and exquisite craftsmanship, to create the most delicious foods. You can hardly imagine how delicious a breakfast you can get here for just one dollar!

I've had many of these foods when I was in China, the food there is so good and nothing like the Chinese food in America !
We've in the US more than 21 years wherein we stepped our foot in Mc Donald less than 10 times!
always feel hungry to see Chinese preparing their food with such efficiency and speed. Very fresh and delicious. The street food vendors are really orderly and clean. With nice wrapping and cheap too.

By far one of the best travel food videos I had seen so far. With the right amount of comments and info, it made me feel like I was there walking among the crowd trying to get my breakfast. I saw opened plastic bags placed inside the bowls and noodle and soup were poured into the plastic bags, the plastic bags were used for to go order or to be used as disposable bowls to save time and water from washing the bowls?
That's soy milk. The bowl is used as a measuring tool and a tool for putting in plastic bags. The plastic bags are there because it's for takeout.

@@laskilee7147 They are used as disposable bowls to save time and eliminate the need to wash the bowls as you think. And sometimes you can use it to take your food away if you don't feel like eating it right there.
@@laskilee7147 No, he’s probably right. I lived in Tianjin for 3 years, and the local shops would measure soy milk and a local foods like “嘎巴菜” (mung bean pancake strips in a thick savory soup) and “豆腐脑”(salty soft tofu soup) in this way.

I'm Mexican/American and I was drooling with pleasure to see the similarities of our culture...ithe puffy pancakes...we call them pupusas(Salvadorean) Style look super appealing and delicious. I liked when the egg was inserted into the bread then flatten. Yummy 😋❤. Then what looked like a tamale...our style...yours looked very tasty 🤤😋. I hope someday I get to visit the North China area. We are about to travel to China and this is something we will try and experience in our travels. Paratha is what the multilayered flat bread she was cooking a common breakfast item in Pakistan also.

From the accent in the video I think this is Tianjin - a big city in northern China which is very close to Beijing. You will find different foods in Shanghai, or any cities in China but they will be equally amazing.

I see breakfast burritos, “pancakes”, breakfast sandwiches, etc… my theory still holds true; we all doing the same stuff, just in different mediums.
Yes, you are right. They are similar but taste totally different because the main difference of these food between Asian and Europen is the kind of sauce. We like to use soybean souce and capsicol which are totally different taste with salad and ketchep.
The food in northern China is like this, but it is very different in the south. A bowl of beef noodles with red oil and raw garlic is a very traditional breakfast in my hometown, but many people in other places find it strange.
I see Indian Food also - paratha, egg paratha, chapatis n all so copy cats in China lol

I agree. It is all breakfast burritos. In South Texas, USA, we use eggs, bacon or sausage, fried potatoes or beans, shredded cheese, and SALSAS of various types, plus cilantro, etc. It is all the same, just sauces according to the areas.

I once worked in a Chinese area in New York City. Occasionally, if I got to work early I would stop in for breakfast. For a few dollars I would get some sort of fried bread and a huge bowl of congi. And tea of course. It was truly enough to feed 4 people.

Chinese restaurants in China also don't make them,😊 which are only selt on the street, so I always think my channel can offer more kinds of Chinese food which are not spreaded the world.
@GetToKnowChina At least they are available along street markets there. There is no variety in Chinese foods here. Every restaurant has the same menu.

China and Taiwan have arguably the best and most varied food on the planet. Personally been all over the West (Americas/Caribbean), parts of Europe, and a bit of the South Pacific, in addition to Japan, Taiwan and China. There's no contest. Also, the people are extremely nice and respectful, much more so than other countries.

24 years ago we taught summer school English for teachers in N E Jiangsu province at a university site. Our residence had only us Canadians and served us cookies and tea for breakfast. How I would have longed to have had some of this deliciousness! I think we got one of takeout dumplings the last day of our 4 weeks!

In this video the question is what do Chinese people eat for breakfast, me I'll have some congee,or rice soup with minced pork and duck eggs, Char siu bao,tea, water and whatever I can think of and maybe a quarter of duck with hoisin sauce and hot sauce, that's the answer as I am Chinese Hawaiian 4th generation from Honolulu Hawaii

Any idea of the name of the puffy pancake with the egg inside is called. I eat a local version in Shanghai, same price but a smaller but thicker pancake and ribbon tofu instead of shredded potatoes. So happy to see another variety! Thanks for the video.
Nor does the Shanghai version have the kelp, WOW, super healthy with the kelp.
The Chinese food we get in the US is entirely different. I wish the Chinese restaurants in the US offered these options.
These foods are also not offered in the restaurants in China, which are offten offered on the street near residential zone in the morning.

This is northern China food, US only has southern China food, mostly Cantonese food from hongkong or Guangdong province, such as dim sum, yuntun noodle soup, congee, seafood etc.
