  • Many people find “Happy Birthday” quite challenging to sing well. John Davey-Hatcher shares some ideas on how your singing can be improved dramatically on this simple song, which most people have sung (or attempted to sing) at various times of their lives.
Opening-reel animation created for TEDxJIS by Alexander Finch with music performed by Ricky Tjitradjaja.
A retired opera singer, John has performed in ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and groups such as the San Francisco Opera and American Bach Soloists, to name a few. He has been a voice teacher, choral director and musical-theater director for 30 years. He loves to help people realize their potential as performers. John believes that, if you can talk, you can sing! This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
