Today 27July is my birthday and your full recording of June's Stardust on that magnificent Magnavox is quite a present. Many many thanks and yes I have recorded it through my system onto reel to reel.
It's exceptionally rare that we as collectors ever get to learn the full story of a 78's life, if they are not part of your family or your friend's family before it comes into their collection. For many 78s, we can only wonder about it and point to the physical makeup of the label and grooving. Even with this we can only understand so much and are still left to wonder. Many more 78s nowadays are nearly 120 years old, surviving mutliple generations and still are found in abundance too. Cases like these are few and far between now.
When 78 RPMs are played properly with a mono cartridge you cannot believe the quality that you will hear especially Dynamics This could be the best kept secret in the Audio world
I love listening to 78 rpm records. There is just something about the sound in the original format, that is so appealing to me.

Is it better to have the camera facing the record when playing music?
Maybe he wanted to capture the audio instead
It's preferred by viewers, though as long as the sound is clear, there shouldn't be any real reason why you are forced to.
Mequon? Are you in Milwaukee area?
