Baby traveler here who drives to Vegas 2-3 times a year with comped rooms, and only flies for a yearly vacation. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had like $60 (One Key Cash) in my Expedia account from our Hawaii vacation last year. I used it to help pay for an expensive stay at a Best Western that charged $180 per night!!! It's not even in a good location and they charge just under $200!. Anyhow I felt much better about not having to pay the full price. Hotels are ridiculous with their pricing. Unless the hotel is in a nice touristy area, I cannot pay those high prices!!!
No reason to roll out of bed early at a Hyatt. Oh well the 711 down the street will be getting more business. If nothing else free breakfast got people out of the room so housekeeping could do their job.
Would agree on the breakfast thing. Believe they are probably testing the water at Hyatts. Deal for me is I would rather have no breakfast then a crappy one. I will any day pay for a great breakfast. Take Hilton Garden Inn's they charge for meals..it is a restaurant. Breakfast has a Chef making omelets, eggs etc. Might be pricey but never have been disappointed. Y'all should review Bill Rewards. For a non annual fee card its turned out to be one of my go to cards. You get points for rent/mortage (get a checking/routing just for that purpose). You get 3x, 2x, 1x points which are valued higher then Amex cards presently, on rent day you get double multipliers for up to 1000 points, its a metal card, no foreign transaction fees, and some elite status like Hilton Gold status.
Yeah I think if Hyatt Place is going to go with a Hampton-style breakfast... it needs to be included in all rates regardless of booking channel. Independent hotels can get away with bundling breakfast with direct bookings because they often have a real restaurant, and they offer third parties a higher priced breakfast included rate. I would much rather not pay for breakfast at all than get a subpar "free" product, which is exactly what Hyatt Place's breakfast is.
There has been more than one occasion when I have traded down to a less-fancy hotel brand just for the free breakfast, especially if I’m staying near an airport. They have to have a fitness center, though, because I need a way to burn off all the calories from the unlimited mini muffins
Yeah you don’t always need a fancy hotel and all of the costs that come with it. Hotel gyms in newer limited service brands are pretty nice. They’ve improved I feel.
I've actually used the loungebuddy credit exactly once. As a DTW flier there aren't many lounge options at my home airport. I wonder if Amex will replace the credit with something better? If not that is an easy reason to cancel for us.
So, what is it with the black eyes. First Shawn, now Matt? Oh, stopped watching after the VFTW mention/link appeared...out of so many blogs to mention smh. He just dropped another hideous clickbait gem: "She Left Her Kids for a Taxi Driver in India and Faked a Kidnapping-GPS Tracked Her Down, Now He’s Facing Charges"

180?? lol. That’s not a lot of these days. Even for a basic hotel. If u want cheaper u gotta go motel. But that’s not advisable
It is always nice when we get a kick back for our expenditures and that turns into discounted or free travel.

At one point holiday inn and Ramada were the top two in the USA.
Pepperidge farm remembers! Don’t forget THE Raddison.
@@newagain9964 Raddison was the fancy hotel growing up haha

It will continue to get nerfed.
We have talked about Bilt on previous shows as there are updates to the product etc. Great option for some for sure.
Another great roundup! Shawn I sent you a message last week on IG by the way
Fun

An 80 person meet up all weekend and limited sleep leads to dark circles the next day for recording 😆😆
