This one’s been top of my watchlist for far too long, but it has finally graced my eyeballs! What did you think of The Worst Person in the World? I wanna know!! 👇🏻👇🏻
Legit my number one film of 2021. It had all the hype and exceeded it for me. Not a single thing I didn't like about it. Love these foreign films just coming out swinging!
Was looking for a movie to watch, about the way I felt at the moment and this one was like a blessing from above - loved it so much. Definitely will rewatch it. Liked your short review, would be great to see full analysis.
I'm so confused - I watched this film with 2 friends last night, and none of us liked or understood it, but it seems everyone else in the world loves it. What am I missing? Do I not have a soul? Do I just lack taste?
Don't worry, I'm in the same camp. I found it so incredibly boring. I was tempted to stop watching multiple times but I kept persisting, waiting for the film to make me feel invested in any of the characters. In the end, I just found them all to be irritating. I disliked how towards the end Julie and Aksel reminisced about the 'deep' conversations they would have with each other, but the movie didn't meaningfully depict any of those conversations; conversations which would have gone a long way into unpacking the characters' motivations and perhaps made them more relatable. Sure, there are some beautifully shot scenes, like the time-freeze and mushroom trip scenes, but the presentation of the film could not overcome how unlikeable I found the characters.
"What am I missing? Do I not have a soul? Do I just lack taste?" Thanks for saying it. I've still an hour and a half to go on this thing and I'm starting to think the movie is snobbily referring to me with it's title.
warms my heart that you loved this film as much as i did pal. It got my no#1 spot of my top 10 of 2021 and I'm so happy you've seen it now =D can't wait ti chat about it in person. xx
See, I was worried the chapters would get annoying, but they ended up being a lot of fun I found. A good way of breaking it up and keeping things light I think! Definitely slapping Oslo and Reprise into my watchlist!
Not sure what Ted had to do with this review. If you'd said Ted Bundy on the other hand... I would have then wondered what the point of mentioning Ted would have been.
I'm an American, who was the other guy in an affair with a girl in Oslo while working there. Their marriage fell apart and eventually ours as well in short fashion. Everything from the plot to location is too familiar in an uncanny way. This film is too much for me.

You brought up some great aspects of the film, and how it works so profoundly and subtly. Great review!

SAME HERE, and it seems like everyone's at Julie's side-not holding her accountable for her poor choices
@@4domingodanielgwen956 I wasn't even invested enough to take a side haha

Thank you dude! Should be a good one 😉
Freaking loved this movie! I hope it wins best screenplay
I loved the three leads, but I thought the film could do without the chapter titles every five minutes ;)
And I highly recommend Oslo, August 31st!
