    In the absence of the Antonov Mrya, the Beluga venture is a smart move from Airbus.

      The two are not even comparable. An225 was a true heavy lifter. Beluga is more of a bulk lifter.

    Listen DJA Airbus is getting orders and lots of them. It’s because they are reliable, test and certify properly AND don’t over sell their products. The deals made by ALL aircraft manufacturers are ALWAYS going to happen. Airbus has also building their products in multiple locations and countries and hence deliveries are being made from them. Airbus’ Business Model is streets ahead of Boering’s. Not just for Aircraft but ALL products and services.

  • @BPiperDude
    @BPiperDude 7 місяців тому +2

    So if they deliver non internal freight to and from the US how would they get around the airmail act of 1934? As far as I'm aware the act that forbid Aircraft Manufacturers from both making the aircraft and operating a commercial freight business from being the same entity is still in effect. I'd think they would have to exclude any US bound goods in this case. Even then it is possible if they change their nomenclature from a simple internal disposition to an actual freight line it would impact their own company to company parts distribution to the US if they use this for that purpose.

    Boeing actually doesn’t have a great replacement for the 777-300ER anymore. The 777-8 is of a similar size yet has barely picked up any orders. The A350-1000 started off slowly but is really beginning to gain some momentum within the market. Maybe the 777-8 can do the same.

    • @sainnt
      @sainnt 7 місяців тому +3

      The A350-1000 is benefiting from the delay of the 777-9. While the 777-8 is more of a replacement for the 777-300ER, I think a high gross weight 787-10 will take over that role and that 777-8 airframe will be more successful as a freighter

    • @michaelosgood9876
      @michaelosgood9876 7 місяців тому

      @@sainntI'm sceptical about this so called 'high gross weight' 787 10, especially as 787 10 was intended for high density, Trans continental routes as opposed to long haul. 777 8 will be handy for Boeing as it will provide them with an ultra long haul aircraft to compete better with A350 types, as 787 falls short of range, as our national airline is finding out. Yes, granted, ultra long haul is a tiny market, but with 777 8, Boeing will have it covered

    • @mrjakobt
      @mrjakobt 7 місяців тому +7

      Some of it. The Beluga’s cargo hold is even a bit larger than the An-225s, but payload is greatly reduced at 53t vs 190t. Beluga also only has a fraction of the range. Both of those factors make the customer list rather short. Still better for Airbus than having them sit around though.

    Can I ask if you could do a post on Russian aviation ? We see that Russia didn’t return planes on loan from ‘rental companies’ (or whatever they are called) and that due to global restrictions, in Russia they cannot get new parts and take apart other planes.

    A Virgin Atlantic Airbus plane has made an emergency landing at Manchester Airport after pilots reported "dense acrid smoke" in the cockpit. Weird MSM in America didn't cover this. Or the missing Airbus fasteners/plane swap, same day.

    WHY DONT airbus build another facility in Wales? Their backlog is starting to get embarrassing. I have thought for a long time that Airbus does need another facility and a large injection of cash (now that cash to the steel works is stopped) from the British government would help no end; plus it would provide jobs in an area desperate for jobs.

      Since the UK is no longer part of the EU, it is no longer as easy for Airbus to transport parts back and forth as it used to be, as these components have to be treated like any other goods shipped between the UK and the EU. It is therefore very unlikely that an additional plant in Wales will cause any more stress. Brexit has consequences everywhere. And do you really believe that the government has money to spare for this? There was nothing for the steelworks either.
