As a soldier myself you guys have no idea how incredible this actually is. I know soldiers who have trained every day for years and don't break 550. To get a 598 (should've been 600) on your first try is one of the most impressive things i have seen in my life. Thank you for doing this. If i wasn't convinced you're the GOAT I am now!
@@daveaglasgow yeah the army is moving towards more of a CrossFit type fitness standard and focusing less on cardio. 13:30 should be easy but it’s harder than you would think after doing all that other stuff first.
I was in the Air Force back in the late 70s, early 80s... Back then our physical fitness requirement was to "run" 1.5 miles in under 14:30.... I was at my max weight for my height and constantly harassed by the Squadron Commander from our Orderly Room, (if we go to war, everyone is going to be waiting on you) he was a 2nd Lt., probably only a few yrs older than me... We ran the annual event on a 1/4 mile track... This chubby kid ran it in just under 9 minutes and posted the 3rd fasted time of all enlisted folks in my unit... on my last lap, I lapped the 2nd Lt, I quickly grabbed a cigarette from a friend, and was smoking it next to the start/finish line as the 2nd Lt ran by with one lap to go and cheering him on... you can do it!! A few days later at Commander's Call, I was brought up on stage and given a 3 day pass for a top 3 finish..... He never harassed me about my weight again... lol I hope their standard has changed, cause 1.5 miles in 14:30 was way too easy, you could probably walk it in with a fast paced walk...
