What most people don't know is that going from a neutral pH to a stronger acid/alkali back to neutral actually helps breaks down the dirt. That's what makes it effective. Salt on the vehicle naturally softens the water making it even more effective.
Right on bud that's an interesting point about the salt as well I never thought of that. The acid/alkaline pH shock serves to release the static bond that occurs naturally on a flat surface like the side of a vehicle, at that point the high psi rinse can remove it better, that's also why I rinse bottom to top so I don't miss a spot👏👏❌💯🍻
@@ChemX the base is used to breakdown the organic material and the foaming agent lifts and carries the dirt and foreign mater off with rinse water . As a previous Car Detailer, is air drying the really best thing to do? I was taught over and over again that this is one of the worst things to do when it comes to paint if you want to keep it looking good
@@ChemX Because if you use air, you blow the commenter away and they never respond, leaving you with a cliffhanger and no one gets the answer/reason as to why.
@@ChemX sorry for the late reply but I was told that air drying leaves many water stains that over time accumulate in mass. Eventually you’d have to do an expensive procedure to get the water stains off. Plus using microfiber towels when drying leaves no streaks of water after you finish the job, overall presenting a much better job done. Paying someone to air dry your car like in the video is somewhat pointless since drive through car washes do the exact same thing. This is just what I was told tho, I may always be wrong but I’ve always liked to believe it’s true

@@ChemX no. It’s dish liquid in spray form that looks as if they took both products that you’re using in your video or something similar and made it the strength safe enough to wash dishes with. Because all you do is spray the liquid on the dishes and rinse it off and they’re clean. It’s really like magic I probably will never use dish soap again. I definitely will never be looking to purchase any dish soap. I’ll only use this type of dish spray from now on. It basically keeps you from having to run a sink full of water.
I’ve never needed for the soap to soak in for it to work effectively which is the only reason for the bottom up method and top down you use less overall and utilize gravity to save time. If it’s so bad it needs to soak, the paint has already suffered. I never knew people thought washing a vehicle was complicated, but some people 🙄
It’s not about letting it soak actually it’s mostly a gauge to be able to see where you have hit with the high psi, missing a spot on the rinse will show once dry
A lot of these cleaners leave a film on your car’s paint and the only way to get it off is to towel if off. But then you’re left with part of the cleaner that still on the car. I’ve been doing this for 21 years and what works great is just a good car soap and water.
