Im 70, and single man, and baby of a toxic family, and all my life have had to be low man on the totem pole and never in authority over others. Always havingto explain my self and answering to others, and being kind to harsh, mean people. I need to stop depending on other;s respect or not respecting me, I must stop people pleasing as it has ruined my life, I always feel guilt when i assert myself. It is extremely hard for me as a HSP empath man, but i must start standing tall as a six foot six man. and respecting myself for a change.

You need your own tribe. Create it with others like you. Same here, my family was toxic to me all my life. Because I feel more than they do. Higher IQ as well as higher E Q. They knew it and hated me for it. You are not alone, there are many of us, but hard to find as we hide ourselves. Have to. More evolved human beings are always hassled by the non evolved. Animals love us because they know who we are. Truly loving. Join an HSP group, a loving church or create your own. Non-evolved need not apply. We know who we are. Good luck!

At 70 you should have learned by now not to give a f**k. I too am a HSP with a toxic family, i'm in my early 30s and try to avoid people as much as i can, i only speak when needed and even that is short. With time it gets easier.

Some of the lessons in the video took me many years to learn. I’ve spent decades walking on eggshells with certain friends, associates and family members who would always try to make me explain myself. And I would, in the most non-aggressive way possible. For many years. Then their kids started treating me the same way and I refused to explain myself. They tried poking and prodding at me and acting all hurt toward me and even showing great respect toward others I was close to as a sort of dig toward me. I continue to ignore that behavior. Some people in life I found better to avoid altogether. I feel more balanced because of it.

I needed this. I've dealt with this. One person I finally let go. I knew she'd hurt me again. I realize they know you're done when you aren't around a lot. Dining with her felt like your in the hot seat shrinking you where only you listened. She's hot and cold, been hateful, rude, indifferent, vengeful, causes you trouble, harasses, pushes too much time with you, even if your sufferring and carrying a lot, invisible when your sufferring, controlling, bossy, critical, etc. Etc. to her family and friends.
We both gave in many ways and her giving and goodness guiltyed me to forgive or feel bad.
Yet she's cut me off so many times for so long and recently blaming me for not being enough and even for not contacting her when we were distant.
Yet she's still texting me saying people aren't there but she is etc.. etc. 😮
I realize she did me a favor to not allow her or anyone to do this anymore.
I've suffered and carried much while trying to appease her even when I barely could stand.
Thank you and God bless you.

I guess because I was being continuously accused of by atrocious lies by undereducated crazy people, I guess, because I did nothing wrong. If I wasn't defending myself, I was reacting angrily. Now that I realize this, I'm going to stop!😊

If u have done all right and are true in your deeds and tedious efforts by God's Grace n prays, then you shuld be silent and no need of explanation n clarification or to open yr mouth to prove yr truth. If u hv done right let barking dogs bite, be silent do good work n let the toxic n fightercocks lazy n useless ones go to hell. A meaningful silence is better than meaningless words. Those who do wrong things themselves are liars fake n frauds keep judging others make fun of you n poison everybody, mind and avoid n disrespect you. They do that bcoz, they are themselves robbers fake n frauds. Be silent no need to explain n avoid them and their dirty behaviour. Some are shameless hv no guilt are proud n disrespect you. Leave them alone to grow or rot. If u hv done good work, just move on, Pray n enjoy God's gift n yr reward. Be silent life will be like Heaven. Devils wait for fight. But they are fools n u are a winner. All I want to say is Be true in yr deeds. Be silent. No need to explain, ,And ignore the ones who disrespect you, coz they are jealous of yr success. Just a silent stare to the wrong proud n egoistic will make them fear and run miles away from you. Love those who care n love you. God watches everything n everyone.🙏🪔🙏

It;s so true- silently staring at disrespectful people completely shuts them down. As an aside, but a very salient one that's tied to shutting people down in this way- well... it can also be honed to be very threatening. My birthplace is a working-class Boston. Specifically, it was Brockton, Mass.. It's otherwise known as The City of Champions due to championship boxing and the people who reigned and continue to reign supreme there (Rocky Marciano, Marvin Hagler). Boxers are trained in the fine art of silently staring at their notably mean adversaries in the context of a barbaric sport. And me- a female empath having been raised in that place. It was hellish growing up in such a harsh, hard-scrabble environment. Still, your video was instructive, Gratitude for the upload.

Hi. Excellent as usual, especially when dealing with troublemakers. Here in NZ a feeble but common passive aggressive ploy is asking the victim, "What kind of trouble have you been getting into lately?". The implied insult is obvious. So is the fitting reply. "Why do you ask, are you looking for trouble?" That is exactly what they're doing because people who are looking for trouble in other people's business will always cause it if they can.
The Stoic "silent treatment" works brilliantly too of course, especially if combined with "high head holding", so that you find yourself looking down your nose at them. Curl your upper lip slightly, and suddenly, voila, you're giving them a withering sneer.
If this seems too much like unmannerly tit-for-tat passive-aggressiveness on your part, a good response is to pull out a crumpled handkerchief and wave it about saying, "sorry old chap, but you must excuse me, A LITTLE BIT OF DIRT JUST GOT UP MY NOSE". The last clause speaks for itself, but its effectiveness is in your telling the troublemaker what he must do. You're taking the initiative, but stoically. And you don't have to explain yourself: only the police have the right to interrogate anyone. Now go forth brothers and sisters, and let your good manners be a danger to all who lack them. Cheers, P.R.

    Narcissistic persons are just evil.

What's born round doesn't die square.
    You just can't fix stupid.
Your life, live it as you wish as long as you don't harm another.

    1) look down at your finger nails. Examine them, with curiosity.
    2) Look around at others, as you casually point at the person. This moves the focus from you, to them.
    3) Say "are you okay?", "look at you. Having a bad day?", "What's wrong with you?", (something like this)...say it with a smirk on your face.
    Done!
Edit: If you are going to stare someone in the face, look at their eyebrows.

A loved one of mine sent me a venomous essay through a multiperson text group. I did not say anything but other people put this person in their place. I agree with your example of the silent 🥰 🥰
