    Really like the sparkle crimp bead and how it keeps the rest of the beads in place. Never thought to use crimp beads on leather. Great idea for a necklace too. I don't have the dexterity to manipulate the bracelet with 1 hand (arthritis), but could adjust the knot at the back of a necklace. TFS!

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому

      It's a tough one, our early attempts looked pretty janky too. You can try practicing the knot a few times on a spare piece of cord a few times and then when you've got your technique down you can tidy up the sentimental bracelet without worrying about putting a bunch of extra wear on that cord.

    The knotmaking worked for me but I needed 7" of tail to make the loops. However, the finished product came out kind of big even cinched down to the smallest. Is there a way to gauge how snugly the bracelet will fit when it's finished?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому +1

      We tend to feel it out as we go, testing it out on the hand after we've got our first knot in place, as Alexandra does in the video around 2:25 and judging things from there. These knots can be a pain to get right but don't be afraid to undo the second one and do it again to get the length just right before you trim your tails.

    Hi, great tutorial...One question: I purchased a lot of crystal healing beads like amethyst and turquoise etc in 4mm, 6mm and 12mm, and 2mm cord as well as 1mm hemp cord and the holes in all of the beads are too small for either cord.
    Is this normal?
    I also purchased a bead reamer but its not serrated like a file its just smooth so I dont logically understand how that could ream the hole larger...
    Can you tell me what I did wrong?
    Thank you

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому

      1mm cord is still fairly thick, gemstone beads will often have holes under 1mm, Reaming the bead holes isn't a bad idea, but it doesn't sound like you got a good reamer if it's completely smooth to the touch. A good reamer will usually have a rough coating of industrial diamonds, sort of a sandpaper-like texture. Still though, even with a high quality reamer it sounds like a lot of work to re-size those beads, you might wanna consider a narrower cord. We have a 0.55mm hemp cord, might be a thin enough fit for those beads: beadaholique.com/products/beadsmith-natural-hemp-twine-bead-cord-0-55mm-394-feet-120-meters

    This is a fantastic video! And I also never thought to use crimp cover beads to keep the rest in place!! But what size crimp bead would I use for 1.5mm leather cord?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  7 років тому

      The crimp covers in this video will work on a 1.5mm cord, but you can potentially use smaller crimp covers around 2mm or 3mm. We have some more options here: www.beadaholique.com/beading-components/crimp-ends-covers-cord-ends/crimp-bead-covers

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  6 місяців тому

      Does your cord have any stretch to it? That could be causing the issue. Will it adjust at all? If not, perhaps the knot is too tight?

    How do you do this when you have knots between the beads

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому +1

      With this style of bracelet the technique is pretty much. If you want to make a piece like this but with the 7 focal beads spaced out by knots you would start by cutting yourself a length of cord, finding the center of it by folding it in half, then sliding on the bead you want to have at the very center, knotting it in place on either side with overhand knots or whatever kind of decorative knot you'd like, and then continuing to add beads and additional knots to each side.

    Please, what size beads were you using? I'm not sure enough about telling sizes. I want to order from your site to make this bracelet, but do not know the proper size bead to order. Is a 20mm bead too large? Thank you

    • @beadaholique

      The beads range between 7mm and 10mm. For reference, a 20mm bead on a similar cord would look twice as big as the wood beads in this project. Just in case, here are links to the items featured in this video:
