Yes, i do have a Trapper or two. Or at least knives that were marketed as Trappers! In this episode I choose my top five "trappers" and look at a few "honorable mentions"
I'm glad the buzzsaw trapper made it. As people hunt less for food and do more wood work in the bush, I do feel the buzzsaw is a natural evolution of the trapper pattern made to suit contemporary needs. My own buzzsaw is a crowd favorite in the campsite, especially when a fire is needed. Nice videos, and a great collection 🙂
I’ve only 2 trappers out of well over 100 knives. One is a case full size trapper, the other is a mini with a bottle opener/screwdriver in place of the spay blade. It’s one of my favourite carry knives. The full size one is a great fruit knife, but far from the only one!
You certainly have quite a cool group of unusual trappers! I only have a few and only one, a Camillus, is the traditional 4 1/8" clip/spey version. It is a very good frame to put various blade combinations on, like many of yours! Thanks for another great video Tobias!
Hello. Now here is a video i did not expect to see on this channel. Lol. Some nice knives as always. I wish it was easier to get RR knives here. I think it would change the direction of my collection. Good price and good quality. Have a wonderful christmas, good health and stay safe.
I did the math and was surprised when the equation said you have about 450 knives. Then I counted mine and realized I have 31 and have been collecting knives for only about 6 months. It’ll only take me about 7 years to catch up at that rate.
@@KnifeChatswithTobias Ha Ha, I had to do the math too, for my own comparison. I have about half the knives you have Tobias but 8% of them are called Trappers, including razor, hatchet, hammer, hobo , etc. Using only the regular Trapper configuration it's more like 5%. Now I know. lol
40 in 2 years.I bought knives when I was in my 20s gave them away 10 years later but started again when I turned 55.Love slipjoints, modern knives not so much.
Great stuff as usual Tobias........ that’s one of the things I want to do in 2020........ have to get a lot more traditionals in the collection!!!!!! Thanks buddy Merry Christmas my friend!!!!!!!!
DamnTobias..you have a HUGE collection..over 700 knives? Wow. I guess if you've been collecting most of your life they add up. I'm not sure how many I have, but I'd guess close to 100, maybe more if you add my fixed blades.. About 10 years ago, I had about 20 knives stolen by a burglar, and that knocked the wind out of my collecting until a couple years ago when I got back into it again. I have more modern folders than traditionals, but I've been really adding to the slip joints lately. Question..what's your opinion on USA made Remingtons? I'm kind of liking them..only have 3 right now, but been eying up more. The ones I have seem to be pretty good quality. Just curious what your thoughts are on them.
Very nice!! I think that it would just be easier to call this video the top 10 trappers in my collection.. It is just too hard for me to pick favorites... Every blade has a story!! ;-)
Novelty knives are fun, But it would be equally fun if they made Conspiracy Theory knives. Like a Flat Earth knife, . Y2K Knife. Lock Ness Monster Knife, "Fani Willis" Knife. :)
Oh yeah that pen knife has been around for years I remember seeing that inside one of his glass cabinets when I was a kid, so tonight I got around to wet sanding That little blade to a high polish and a razor sharp edge I put on it and I slipped inside my wallet. Have a good night
New on Cabell have lots of cases trappers also have a variety of rough rider muskrat knives I am a licensed trapper and have found rough rider muskrat stand pretty close next to my case and my queen city trappers any comments would appreciate it
I know that Case is currently using 420HC as their "TruSharp" stainless. I also know that RR is using 440A. I think the steels are fairly comparable. But I've found that Rough Ryders are more likely to be hit or miss when it comes to blade wobble over time. I've had some go for two or three years with no issues and others develop problems in a year or two. But then for the price, you probably get your money's worth out of it. I'm more interested in your experience as you are using them for their intended use!
@@KnifeChatswithTobias ok just got in from trapping mosquitos were brutal wondering if u could maybe help out some case knives rewa we case some case and sons any info
Great collection, hard to pick five, like the three with the fish shields, why would they make a 100 year boy scout knife without a boy scout shield, just saying, :}
Hey buddy my dad gave me an old Texas toothpick maybe from the 60s 50s 60s like that the blades a little scuffed up nothing a little always wet and dry Sandpaper could not polish out. It’s on my last video I know you like those knives if you would like it let me know I’ll send it to you
Tobias Gibson Yes I’m sure it’s not sentimental to him someone gave him a box of knives and it was in there if it was his personal knife it would be a different story, it’s nothing special but I know you like toothpicks so you’re the first person I thought of
Nor am I? I'm aware of the covers not scales. I slip back and forth because in the land of Swiss Army knives the covers are routinely called scales as the toothpick and tweezers are marketed by Victorinox as "Scale Tools" and they fit into cellidor scales. There are other instances where the covers can accurately be called scales.

Love the recurve blade on the hooked up, thanks for the chat

I see “my favorite trappers” on your page, my first thought is, “he’s obviously been hacked”.
Tracy81258, I really have more issues with the wY Trappers are hyped. As you see in the video, many of these knives are Trappers in name only!
Good choice.Glad you kept the Remington, I really liked it too.

Nick Mazur, one of us needs to work on their math ( probably, me!). I’m around 700 knives.

I give knives away as gifts to keep my numbers down. People love them.

Really beautiful >>>>> thanks .
That first bass knife is my favorite. I wonder how many knives you have now more than four years later
I try not to think about it. I know I'm fast approaching 2,000!
Very nice group of Trapper's.
Merry Christmas Tobias, all the best to and yours in 2020.
I wish Case still made that older Trapper / Jackknife .
I never heard of a knife called a "Trapper." They were always called pocket knifes. I learned something new today. Pretty cool
Funny but those stats are the same as mine! 2 trappers from over 100 knives, and only I is a standard trapper!

I need to do a vidoe of just my fishing trappers! LOL.

I will pass this along. After all they make a ton of “Big Foot” knives!
Alien Knives.

For a few minutes, while I watched this, I didn’t hate trappers.
