One of my favorites! well what am I saying? i like all the Case Barlows so far. I also have the queen usa in stag and am very impressed with it as well. Thanks for sharing Tobias!
Love it, I own it as well one of the few Case knives in my collection. I also have a Stockman in blue bone with the red shield forget the model number but also great! The bone stag is fantastic in my opinion. Thanks as always Tobias 👍
Case does an excellent job on their bone stag jigging. In fact they seem to build the 6.5 knives better at least with the six that I have, they're all near perfect. The Barlow is beautiful, thanks for showing us Tobias.
Thanks for the info. I have not heard of the name before. Always learning. I think it is similar to "winterbottom" and "worm groove" as well. What do you think?
I picked up a bone stag Barlow when it was a vault knife. The difference though, is that mine is a twin blade. I prefer single blade Barlows And I’m with you on the shield/bolster issue. That being said, I really like mine!
It's case's number system. 6 is the number they used fro bone. 5 is the number they use for stag. So they call this one 6.5 because it is bone jigged to look like stag. They have it Trademarked as 6.5 BoneStag.
I don't know how Bear & Son does it but I can tell you this: the last "stag bone" knife I got from them looked dreadful. There stag delrin from a few years back looked much better .
I’ve heard that Case has had some issues lately with QC. For what these knives cost I would like to believe what I’m hearing is wrong. Is there any legitimacy to the claims or is it BS? I look forward to your opinion.
I think the claims are over exaggerated but, yes, they have had their share of QC issues. But my experience has not been nearly as problematic as Social Media makes it out to be. I’ll be discussing this on my next video about a Tony Bose Swayback. (That video will air tomorrow.)
Beautiful Barlow and a beautiful collection sitting on the table.
You folks have a wonderful evening and a wonderful week.

Case took the Barlow out of the vault do to customers requests . That’s a great looking pocket knife Tobias and thanks again for your videos ❤

I was fortunate enough to acquire a 6.5 copperhead when they came out of the vault in '20.
Great looking bonestag! I've gotten two Case Barlows this year (a bonestag, and a blue jigged bone) and they are both really well made!
A beautiful knife!!

6.5 bone stag is hand carved, and only a small group perform it. So, my guess is QC is better because more hands on time with more skilled labor
@@KennethKellogg-kt7bf Agreed.
great looking knife!
Some call that a Haystack Jig.
Thanks Tobias

You just can't beat that 6.5! I'm with you on the shield though. I hope they remedy that at some point, but they probably won't.
Maybe I missed it, but what does the 6.5 stand for? Great video Tobias.

Learned something new today about Case handles. 👍 Do you know if Bear & Son does their stag by hand, or is it automated?

I've bought 5 over the last year. No issues. Bought online too.

@@KnifeChatswithTobias Thank you for your reply because I would like to order a couple of Case knives and this helps. Thanks again.
