  • This video is an age of empires 4 build order for the fastest possible longbowman rush. My channel focuses a lot on aoe 4 build orders and aoe4 build order tutorials, so if its build orders you're looking for, you're in the right place! It took a while to develop this build order and optimise it, but I'm very happy with this aoe 4 english longbow rush and I think its going to be very strong in aoe4 multiplayer and age of empires 4 gameplay.
    It’s a specific build order for the English aoe4 civilisation, making use of the civilisation unique building: the council hall. which allows the longbowman to be trained at 100% speed from the landmark. This helps you get a really fast longbow rush in age of empires 4.
    The Longbowman is a longer-range archer that can deploy defensive palings, making them more effective against cavalry. This can help make them especially strong in early aggressive play in age of empires 4. I'm sure the aoe 4 longbow rush will be very popular in age of empires 4.

    If you build blacksmith and upgrade engineering you can actually rush enemy during feudal age. Longbowmen can build battle rams and dingdong walls or couple towers will be gone. Scouts can bring deers back to tc so you can keep food economy running without going to mills/farms and spare the wood for LBmens. Keep LBs minimum of two groups so you can keep one group running while others shoot when first encouter enemy. Usually after you sweep the enemy main army away in first encounter you can control the situation by sheer numbers. Remember to harash enemy economy with LBs and throw everything to field. After upgrades focus only food and wood. Remember to use campfire for healing and spikes to counter horses.

      Some great points here.
      I love the ram pushes.
      Ones I personally will think about using more that I don't usually is the survival techniques and campfire. I think if I add those to my gameplay it will improve I'm sure!
      Thanks for the comment and ideas, appreciate it! I'm sure slot of people reading will take good ideas from this comment 👍

    First guy i did this to actually abandoned right away after seeing my first LB's guess the speed was too much. 3 wins in a row now, the others were close, gritty fights. My tactics:
    - I send one of the 4 vills that are building Council to map center right before Council is done, builds Barracks (for pikes) and tower
    - LB's and pikes gather to center, then harass opponent's eco
    - If I get low on sheep, I progressively transition to farms. Could probly include water eco as well.
    - After first encounter is won gain ground by building other towers, archeries and barracks closer to enemy and keep production tight (LB's, pikes, vills)
    - As soon as wood prod is no longer bottleneck, build forge, market, keep harassing eco
    - Balanced arrow, siege upgrades minimum
    - Go for the rams

      Very nice, I love the steps you've outlined. This reminds me of the very first time I played this game, did this strategy so much, and it still has stood the test of time :). Thanks for breaking down the next steps you take, agree with all of it! looks great.

    I like going 8food 2 gold about 6 wood then push 10-12 on food so I can spam villagers and by time you hit next age you’ll have around 800-1k food and maybe wood

    Lol the 3 last matches I lost out of my 9 last ladder are to this EXACT build order. I got kited so bad.. I won the fourth one but opponent wasnt as skilled as the other 3.
    If they go for ressource harass depending of my civ and map its so hard to stay in course for castle before him that its almost a done deal when he ages up.
    I might start learning the dark arts and spam HRE fast castle

    • @FarmManOfficial
      @FarmManOfficial  Рік тому +1

      Ooof, yeh there are alot of English longbow rush spammers out there :D.
      The dark arts is definitely the right way to phrase it 😂. I have an HRE fast castle build order on the channel in case interested, but generally would recommend key scouting for it and build an outpost/walls to defend a key resource instead of a mill and wheelbarrow if being pressured (e.g. by English longbow rush) in that build I have.
      Thanks for watching! HRE pretty strong civ atm

    played agains rome. Everything was perfec on timings but the oponent builded stables right infront of town centre and started sending horseman's right in TC to save them. As soon as he got 5 of them he rushed all my 10-15 archers) That was gg. I watcched the replay and all he had was 100 wood but that was enaught to build 5 horsemans )

    • @FarmManOfficial

      Hey dude, yeh it's really important to not over extend and over commit. You'll always want make sure you have a large number of longbows but also as soon as you see a stable it's best to bring archers back and add a few spearman to your army. (Unless you have a large number of Longbowman death ball)

      @@firingallcylinders2949 nice, I suck at defensive turtle gameplay, I need to get better at that tbh, difficult to be agressive all the time.
      HRE looks like a nice civ to play, looks a bit tricky though with the prelate!
      If you ever use this build order btw, id love to hear how it went. I do have a more economy focused build order on the channel with the Longbow opening if that's more your style.

      @@FarmManOfficial my problem is I'm terrible at micro so I have to turtle. If I rush I find my economy is horrible mid game because I totally forgot to keep my TC active. Idk how guys like Spirit of the Law can manage all their villagers AND attack the enemy.

    • @FarmManOfficial
      @FarmManOfficial  2 роки тому

      @@firingallcylinders2949 I'm not sure if you do this already, but one of the very first things I do in the game is manually assign the town centre to a hotkey on my mouse. I very frequently just press that hotkey once to select the TC and spam press 'Q' for villagers. It doesn't take you away from the area of the map that you're lookin at.
      I'd set the rally point for the TC usually on wood and then re-adjust the villagers when I can take a moment away from the the front fight.
      I get what you mean though, if you're attacking you're needed to look at multiple areas of the map Vs defending where the fight is near your base, and so is your eco to fix!

    Why do you make villagers go to wood at 2:21 without making a lumbercamp? If you're going to make a lumbercamp anyway, isn't it better to minimise travel time as much as possible as early as possible?

    Personally I like to transition into rams because longbows are terrible at killing buildings. Tbh it's probably mostly a noobstomping build because I don't see this being viable against people with even the least amount of skill.

    • @FarmManOfficial
      @FarmManOfficial  2 роки тому

      Yeh for sure I agree I definitely prefer going for rams. Yeh I mean I think often against good players will need do as much damage as possible but ensure adding eco behind it for a bigger push later in the game.
      I've been finding outpost defenses hard to push in feudal :(. They're quite cheap to build in this game, although it does idle villagers for them. Seem quite cheap defensive counter
