You're a bit wrong about the quarantine zones. The Cuisine and Cargo DLC only added 2 quarantine zones, the other 8 are in the base game, Stuffed Turtle included.

Funny vid :) I'm 5 hours into Dying Light 2.. Was 20 dollars less than the Steam price at a local store and I couldn't resist it for that price. Loving it so far (or at least, I love it now I'm out of the linear prologue). Took a break to eat and friend showed me this vid, subbed!

just use your bow to shoot the zombies through the windows before you unlock and open the door.
get the two other packs and then retreat and close the doors. Then the zombies that spawn in after the room is clear, use the bow again. full clear, zero deaths.
the strat works with all difficulty levels, you'll just have to make a ton of arrows. headshots x3 should do the trick.

As someone who's done the stuffed turtle quarantine to get to max survival before the first night, I can safely say that the virals crawl in from under a door, if you stand in front of this door and kick them before they finish crawling through they get stuck behind the door and can't get through (unless the game glitches) or instantly die as they get stuck under the door.
You can also ignore the zombies and grab enough packages to "win" without needing to kill a single zombie or unlock any doors. Though yes I know that wasn't the point of doing the quarantine in this video but it helps in levelling up your survival skill incredibly easy and unlock useful abilities.
Just to add on to the first bit, the virals only spawn in when you get near the locked door with the GRE crates. They should stop spawning after you kill 5, though.

@@linksolo2678 im doing a hard mode playthrough right now on Epic and i didnt found 1 gold. Hell, i used all my orange ones too and i didnt see one in a while. Im at the last main game mission.

U can set the difficulty on Normal if u will farm DROPS in quarantine zones, once u got enough DROPS u need, exit then set the difficulty on saved game to Nightmare.

With reference to both this and your other gold weapon search are we to conclude the reason we can no longer farm chests for these items is that TECHLAND, in their infinite wisdom, has nerfed this feature? Have they commented on this pulled feature of the game? If that's the case it seems pretty pointless. I'm quite happy to farm BOZAK and the PRISON, but I know a lot of players would rather experience the casual joy of opening a GRE chest and discovering a shiny gold-tiered sword! It's DEAD ISLAND all over again - I think our Polish friends might be finally letting go of DL and focussing all their attention on the upcoming game. AND there had better be gold weapon finds in DL2...
I didn’t see this earlier, I suspect that a patch somehow broke it. If it was on purpose then it doesn’t make sense to me either
I mean I know this is old but the thing is techland kinda ducked up and purple Orange and gold all have the same maximum stats it’s just more repairs and it’s easier to get 40 replacement purple swords then 1 gold weapon
@@markmcgehee3864 Not entirely sure what you're trying to say here. Yes, the stat categories are the same, but their values are very different. A gold-tier katana, for example, will have higher damage than the orange-tier version, and so on down the line. This is what makes them valuable in combat.
@@CrowPilotGames4Life well on AVERAGE yes but in NG+ each weapon has a specific maximum possible damage and while on average orange and gold weapons are usually that already (since each have a higher lowest possible damage it’s easier for them to be max damage) purple also has the highest possible max damage, though getting a purple with the highest possible max damage is effectively as rare as orange, unless you abuse the npc stores like I did,
Other things to note is there is actually a weapon mod with fire toxin and electricity at once but its only for daggers

It made me incredibly disinterested when players would walk up to me and go “hey look at this gold weapon I found” and it’s base stats are just lower than my purple or orange, gold’s main advantage is that they are entirely different skins
Dying light really fucked up the tier system on their stuff
Hell on launch guns did more damage if you found them at level 1 than any other level and rarity only recently sorta started effecting them,
But on other notes if you only play on NG and not NG+ you won’t find weapons with the absolute maximum amount of damage possible so gold weapons will just be way stronger than purple and orange
Yeah I think I know too many minor things about dead island and dying light’s weirdness for one person to handle
Actually now that I think about this this entire thing about purple gold and orange all having the same max damage is semi common knowlege around PlayStation players, I don’t have it on other systems so I cannot tell you how well known this is there
Of course it is also ENTIRELY possible techland finally fixxed this at some point after the following dlc was released because I stopped playing it after beating the following so I must admit I would be impressed if they fixxed that part of the code

It’s quicker to only get the 3 boxes in stuffed turtle and not going after the zombies unless you do it super fast

An Easier way to do this would be
(Correct me if im wrong)
Grind the stuffed turtle by only getting the first 3 packages leaving then rinse and repeat
by the time you get to legend difficulty turn the difficulty to hard or nightmare then just unlock hard chests or police vehicles and you're bound to find a gold weapon.
tbf i don’t remember the last time i got a gold weapon from rng. all my golds have been gifted or worked for im events or from prison

Higher level= better loot in crates/vans and shopkeepers im in my 9 playthrou in DL1 and right after mission where guy calls for help from tower to find his son i find quite often Legendary weapons in GRE chest's and Police vans on bridge
