- Can you repair any weapon in Dying Light including Gold weapons?
So can you repair your broken weapons in Dying Light? Well yes you can, in fact you can refurbish your entire stash of melee weapons in one go! Now if you're a Dying Light veteran then you know where this is going, but if you're new to the game or simply wasn't aware that it was possible then I'm gonna show you how it's done.

@@LKCxSUBZEROx The Blue Shield missions are hardly a unique discovery as they are literally one of the hints on the loading screen of the game for all to see lol. All UA-camrs in every genre will make videos on the same subjects and put their own spin on it in their own style, they aren't all stealing from each other that's just life on UA-cam. Some will get more views than others depending on their personality or if their thumbnail is eye catching and will also depend on how well optimized the video is. You can't get upset every time another channel makes a similar video to you, you just have to make yours better so that it stands out in the crowd. Don't take things so personally

Really handy to know. After all these years I never knew this and ignored the blue shield tasks LOL.
Nice video brother, those escort missions are lifesavers when you don't want to lose your gold weapons. You don't even have to wait until next time when you've got two with the same name, you just need to drop one of them for a second. After that you can refurbish the one you're still holding, drop it and pick up the other weapon again so you'll be able to refurbish that one as well. As you pointed out, the character you protected won't go anywhere as long as you don't select anything from the "rewards" section of the menu.
I’ve been playing dying light for years, I finally decided to do a legit play through on pc where I helped everyone and did all the side quests, I just found out 2 days ago that you could refurbish your weapons, this has been a feature for a while now too lmao
I don't like these babysitting type quests so I've straight up never known about this man, that's some important stuff to know about
The one inside train cargo on middle of map is nearly guaranteed to spawn every several day in game

Blue shield escort missions are starting to appear when you reach 25% progress in main story. So right after leaving the demolition zone.
There is also a way to provoke these missions to appear.
Your death during mission doesn't necesarilly means the fail, it depends if that survivor can survive until you respawn. :)
Also I, as a hoarder and a veteran player, always dupe a weapon at least twice. The original one will be used as its base form and any copy I make out of it will be the ones I use to kill zombies. But since this is for newbies, I too hope they have a friend that can help them learn about duplication asap

The weapon durability and lockpicking were two things I hated in Dying Light. Also the amazing amount of crap in chests that you waste time in lockpicking to open.
New player, this is REALLY helpful! I really despise how crummy durability is in this game despite otherwise loving it so this is super cool!
I used to drop broken weapons and leave them behind. But now, I sell them to get a few extra bucks for Crane.

Finally, a way to keep my water pipes and nailed planks intact.
You know you don’t even have to fight. If you throw a firecracker most zombies will go towards it leaving you and the survivor alone. This makes completing it quicker and having a lower risk of dying and then having to wait for another one.

When doing this mission I try not to use any weapon with any electricution mods because I have had so many random encounters accidentally die because of that chain lightning.

Oh. What I do is back-up save and go for rng lucky repair. If it fails, load the back-up save and try again.
I just turn broken weapons into scrap.
Honestly it wouldve been sweet had i known this before because back then whenever i make an op weapon i never bother using it cus i fear of breaking it and wasting it

They don't spawn during co-op, like white shield missions.
and even on single player, i havent found single in my 40h.

If you have a rifle or a shotgun that will finish him pretty quickly without having to get too close 👍

Do the 3 blue shield mission in old town respawns still I know one is very hard to respawn but there’s one that respawns anytime of the day at old town I think
they spawn within certain time frames for each locations, some may be early in the day, some late at night, etc.
my 3 years of playing I never knew you could do this But never seen any of The blue shields But I also Play on PlayStation which really weird So Are Not on PlayStation?
question for other viewers… is dying light better than dying light 2 in the exploration department ? like is there more to do in DL1 compared to 2 ? im still new to the series im trying to decide which game to put more hrs into

I loved the atmosphere of DL1 so much i just replayed it for the 4th time, this time on harder difficulty, i just dont see you getting as desperately scared of zombies chasing you at night in DL1 and almost everyone whos played both can attest to it

It does both. As if you never used the weapon

I play on hard. Maybe we need to switch to normal or nightmare, it could make a difference since on hard the shops, for example, don’t have any resources or ammo to sell. maybe that’s the reason why we don’t get that menu showing up…
but didn’t tried it yet.
There's a talisman Easter egg you can get which is pretty an unlimited repair.. can't remember all the details but I got and it involves hard parkour ✌🏽

Nice!! Given you need to get to your nearest stash for any broken weapons, will the blue escort missions de-spawn for any reason, such as distance or time?
I don't know the exact amount of time, but if you just ignored it and went too far away I'm pretty sure they disappear. If there's a safe zone close to the spawn location then you'd have plenty of time as the game is essentially paused whilst using your stash 👍
I always assumed these random event missions de-spawned once they no longer showed on the mini-map or if you waited too long even with them visible. In any case thanks for the tip, as I've always ignored the escort missions. Will now keep an eye out for any blue escort.

Random encounters were done much better in Dying light 1. A lot of variety.

Damn. I once found this dude but wasn't able to help him. The idiot ran into a alleway full of zombies and on top of that the game decided to spawn a horde of 10+ virals for some reason. I wasn't able to kill all of them before they got him, and I've never found him again. I'll keep my eyes open, but for now every new weapon I make ends up better than the last one I used, so I don't have any broken weapons stashed away. But this will be very useful when that's no longer the case
By the way, if anyone's reading this, is it possible to get random encounters in coop? I've had a dozen random encounters playing alone, but not a single random encounter when playing the game coop with a friend. And we've already completed the entire main game including all side quests.

No, but you can switch between the main game the Following DLC from the main menu at any time without losing your inventory and stash 👍
At least Dead Island with all it's faults didn't have this as one of them. You could go to any crafting bench anywhere in the game and repair your weapons if you had the money to do it. Why they thought this mechanic was a good idea and how anyone can defend it I really don't know but for me this repair charge crap and a magical repair npc felt like one of the worst "features" in an otherwise mostly fun game.

Just do the duplication glitch it's a lot easier.
glitches get patched whilst this is a feature that will stay

Weapons that don't feature repairs in the first place ( like the Zelda sword / twilight phantom ) won't work with the shield protection quests. I can't remember whether or not the EXPcalibur comes with repairs when you first pick it up, but I know any weapon that doesn't list the number of repairs in the menu isn't going to be one you'll be able to refurbish.
@@insertnamehere4088 even if the expcalibur is broken if u use the power attack enemies go flying away still so doesnt really need reparied

Those white shields are just regular protect missions. You need to look out for the blue ones, they are Random encounters and are not marked on the map until they appear 👍

@@80skidgrownup00 yo I have a question. So I got a starter save off sade wizard and I have 999× bolted Mace weapons and I don't have any repairs left on the first one. I can't figure out how to drop the 999th one and start using the 998th one . Any help?
