Can a Grand Cherokee Take On Devils Canyon?

- Devil's Canyon is a fairly easy trail outside of Idaho Springs Colorado. We invited a friend with a Cherokee Trailhawk along to see what his new ride could do. This is a really beautiful trail with stunning views. Easy, but highly recommended.

Thanks for the video. I have a stock '21 Tacoma TRD OR and virtually no off roading experience, trails like this look like they would be a good place to start, and not far away (I'm in the suburbs west of Denver).
Definitely a good trail to start on. Just did it in my stock gladiator altitude today
Beautiful place. Admin killed commenting on your FB post before I could reply, but I love seeing more Trailhawks on the trails.
Thanks for your awesome and quick reply. My questions were about your camera gear and editing! Very impressive. Since I just found your library, I have only seen a few of the videos, but they are great!!! I will look for your other videos on your gear. But, if you are up to it, a review and a HOW TO video would be great for beginners like me. Being able to come home with good memory videos would be awesome. Best to learn from people who are doing a great job!!!
Thanks!!!!!
@7:00 Well done! 👍
Loved your video. Just the type I have been looking for!! Great filming!!! I have watched two of you videos this morning, and love the way your dash camera works! So, if it is not a trade secret, please share the camera info and your method of recording both video and audio, etc. Please note, I live in st louis, mo, but I go to Colorado to play in the outdoors, generally backpacking. This year was to be my year to buy a 4x4 and start exploring trials the way you do, but only the easy ones for starters!!! Mostly I want to photograph old mining towns, etc, and get further out west and do a similar thing with the petroglyphs and historical Indian stuff. My truck deal for a Tacoma this year fell through. It was ordered in January, but did not arrive until July, and it had options left off, so, no deal. Now looking to get a 2021 4RUNNER in January, and try a new plan!! Traveling and sleeping in the 4RUNNER, if the virus does not mess things up!! A Jeep would be a great trail machine, but would not be enough room for me and my stuff!!! Hopefully the 4RUNNER will be enough to take me to a lot of the mountain areas and the desert areas.
I followed your first videos with my Colorado Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails book! Super! You do great videos! Thanks! Will plan to watch more videos from your collection. I just finished your tire deflator video. I think I will buy both deflators when the time comes. I can put them on my Christmas wish list!!! Maybe some camera gear as well!!! Stay safe, keep sharing video!!!!
Thank you so much for the comments. I actually did a video about the camera a while back. My primary camera is the DJI Osmo Action on hard mount on the dash. I then use a Delkin Fat Gecko suction cup mount for other locations on the video. I use a Purple Panda lavalier mic most of the time of a Rode Wireless GO microphone on shots where I am standing further away from the camera. I use two different drones, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and the Autel EVO II Pro. I do all my editing with Davinci Resolve. I prefer the Osmo Action over the GoPro because of the way it keeps the trail so stable, where a GoPro will have a little more sway back and forth and I felt I lost detail of the trail with that. I think this is a great question and I will do a complete video on everything I do to create the videos.
I find it hilarious when people think because it’s a trailhawk it’s not capable
It's all relative. Is a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk "as capable" as a Wrangler Rubicon? Of course not. They are designed for different use cases. Can it do more than most people think it can? Absolutely.
Cept it's a regular Cherokee trailhawk like our non Rubicon is. And it's done tons of stuff obviously
@@seanwatson3790 yep just earned my 6th badge this weekend.
Pinstriping in summer at all? Or are trails wide enough?
It's been a while since we did this, but I don't recall there being any issues as the trail was pretty wide.
Also doable with a stock 4runner?
If we can do it in a stock Cherokee, you can easily do it in a 4Runner......but......its likely to have snow now, so it may not be the best time of year.
whats the highway and mile marker for the entrance?
Put this into Google Maps: 39.680753974244,-105.60488996096
question for ya. My wife and I have just started off roading, we bought ATVs...is there a place to park and unload, or is this more for jeeps and pickups?
There is no parking lot for this trail, you enter it right from the highway
@@TrailTraveler OK Thank you.
Guessing this is doable in a stock gx460 w 32’s
Pretty much if you pick good lines
Does the Trailhawk have a UA-cam?
Not yet, trying to get him to go out more often
Too many f"in ads
That’s a UA-cam issue, I have no control over that. I pay for UA-cam Premium so I never see ads anymore
