Man, I'm so glad you uploaded this! Many, many thanks. I've been impatiently waiting for any potential live videos of Simulacrum (and Psychomagia, btw) ever since John announced the gigs. Did they play _The Illusionist_ ? I would love to see it played live, especially due to the sad and desperate attempt to transcribe the tune. If anyone has a video of it, please drop me a message. [EDIT: the tab is now on Ultimate Guitar] Also for those interested, the tune is called: _The Powers._ P.S. Those phone cameras (and microphones) are getting better and better, amazing quality!
Same here, Steve! I've been watching these two videos back to back on a loop for two days now, like a mad man. It's habit-forming! I think these live shows (and Psychomagia) should be released on DVD/BD! Although, I wouldn't be so needy if the uploader had recorded the entire show, cause this camera angle is amazing, we can see all the action. Well, almost, if it weren't for the (unnecessary in my opinion) zoom-in's, I would say the camera angle is perfect. Nevertheless, the uploader deserves a case of finest beer, we owe him.
+Krwiomocz.Bogurodzicy I wish I'd recorded more, too, but I was too caught up in the music! I also wish I'd brought a better audio recorder and a tripod so I could just set up a camera and let it roll - I didn't expect to end up in such a great spot. I've gotta say, I'm really surprised that my humble iPhone camera did such a good job. I'm really hoping there's an official DVD release of this tour, or at least some good complete audience recordings. As great as the records are, I think this music really comes to life when they perform it in front of an audience. Feel free to send a case of the fine beer of your choice!
+Bud Burroughs Bud, I would send you a case of beer if only I weren't a cheapskate. I meant "we" collectively. Perhaps this new trendy online crowdfunding thing should be employed ;) "As great as the records are, I think this music really comes to life when they perform it in front of an audience." - now this is below the belt man, I live in the UK, I don't think Simulacrum will ever play here...
+Krwiomocz.Bogurodzicy Come on over! Bring beer! Actually it wouldn't surprise me at all if these guys did a European tour at some point. Most of Europe seems to be far more accepting of music like this than we are over here in the Great Cultural Backwater across the Atlantic.
4 years on and it's still as sick as the first time round...
Did you know what track this was?
