  • This is unfortunately maybe the only 3 minutes of video with Mike Patton in it from John Zorn's Naked City at the Wien Jazz Festival, in Austria July 6 1991
    No, I don't have the entire concert, sorry, just the audio CD, but would love the whole thing on DVD.
    Look how young Zorn and Patton look, love Mike's haircut.. lol..

    @artsyfairie08, i saw patton back in 1990 in philadelphia, i got to talk to him for like an hour, just him and I. I was 10 and he was probably one of the only adults at the time that treated me with respect. For that, i wore my hair like him lol. Every now and then i wonder if he remembers that conversation we had, i'll never forget it!

    I met Mike Patton with dillenger escape plan circa 2006-2007. When they played with coheed & Cambria and chiodos. He was outside walking his pit bull and talking to fans. I told him I loved his stuff with John Zorn and naked city and he was like awestruck that I even knew about it. It was a cool moment. Very nice and kind guy and super humble.

    "You need some form of melody and harmony to have music and this doesn't do that."
    This pretty much proves that no, you do not have a pretty open mind about music, there is so much more than that even in older music.

    I saw John Zorn 3 times... The first was a tribute too the giant of free jazz Don Cherry. Amazing concert(music, technic, freedom...). The second was dedicated to jewish music... 12 musicians, 3 different shows in the same evening... And the third was.... HARDCORE ZORN! It was not Naked City, but it was amazing!
    I'm a big fan of John Zorn! He did everything! He played Free jazz, hard-rock, indian music, jewish music, be bop, hard bop, cool jazz.... EVERYTHING! He's excellent, definitly.

    @xdeadwaterx Music like this has been written since at least the 1970s. It's easy to find if you look in the right places. Also this is much more complex than "mathcore".

    B-b-but... Mike Patton had nothing to do with this band when it started. He was just a replacement for Yakatama Eye. The screaming parts are crucial to Naked City compositions.

    @sthnwatch Have you asked Mike recently, have you? Has he recanted the "awful" music he made in his past? If so, let's hope repents for the shit he did with that funk metal band he made so many idiotic fans with. And I don't mean Mr. Bungle. I'm pretty sure if you "asked Mike today" you'd find he's extremely proud his contributions to Naked City and myriad Zorn projects. Despite what you want to believe, he still champions and is heavily involved with avant-garde music.

    This is just noise. I'm sorry, you can call me closed-minded all you want but I have an actual CD collection spanning about 50 years of music from all sorts of different genres so I'm pretty sure I have an open mind about music, but this is just random sounds which do not flow together. You need some form of melody and harmony to have music and this doesn't do that.

    • @atiostefony3760
      @atiostefony3760 7 років тому +4

      There´s harmony and melody on this .If you pay attention you can hear it.This kind of music i build on blocks. The flow together at the beheast of John Zorn. I don´t think you are close-minded , you just didin´t go it and that´s ok. BUt you can´t say is not music.

    Wow, the sounds of Hell. Fucking awful! That shit's just disgusting. Shameful. I can't believe these men even dared to show their faces again after this horrible shit. And then the idiots in the crowd cheered and clapped and just applauded it. Yeah right. Nah, that shit is wrong! It's just WRONG! Damn!
