How to make Vietnamese braised pork (Thit Kho) on the stove - EASY recipe at home / ASMR cooking!

  • This is my simplified recipe for Vietnamese thit kho. I grew up eating this dish and it has quickly become a fan favorite in my house hold today.     Recipe:
    1.5lb pork belly
    5-6 gloves garlic (diced)
    2-3 shallots (diced)
    1tsp pepper
    1tsp salt
    Marinate the meat for at least 2 hours or overnight.
    2tsp sugar
    1tsp oil
    1 can coco Rico
    4-5T fish sauce
    6 boiled eggs
    Begin by heating up the sugar and oil in a pot. It should take no more than 2 minutes to turn to an amber color.
    Add in the meat and coat with the glaze. Add in the coco rico and fish sauce.
    Simmer on low-med heat for two hours. At the 1 hour mark, add in the eggs.
    Serve with rice & cucumbers ✨
