This album was huge for me, I was 15 years old around the time Vol 3 was released and during my journey being a metal fan, Slipknot's Vol: 3 played a huge factor in my life.
I remembered the days of MySpace when Slipknot dropped the Duality music video and never have I ever heard music that was heavy, melodic, experimental and well arranged.
Their songs and attention in detail was so well-crafted, especially the transformation the members of Slipknot really went into and knowing how the purists go into this album, Vol 3 made them go commercial into the mainstream and influenced so many artists in the 21st Century because at the time, nobody sounded like Slipknot.
It also reminded me how resonated Vol 3 came to my life, since my dad was the main person who introduced me to Slipknot after hearing Before I Forget on the radio and I even talked to my dad and said, "what is this?" He replied, "this is Slipknot, this will forever change your views on music and I hope you'll like it".
Upon listening to this album, some of the tracks have aged quite well aside from the production of all things, Vol 3 also has some of the best deep cuts that hardly anyone discusses in the Slipknot forum.
Songs like The Blister Exists, Pulse Of The Maggots, The Nameless, Three Nil and Opium Of The People being some of the most dynamic and structured pieces of music that I can say that this was Slipknot at their best long before we lost Joey and Paul.
Vol 3 may not entirely be suitable to many people who want to get into Slipknot, but this album celebrating 20 years is such a difficult pill to swallow and I will be hearing this once more and see if my perspective changed back then, as it this very moment.

Happy 20th anniversary to this classic Slipknot album. This album marked a pivotal shift in their sound from the debut and Iowa which were more hardcore and angry to one that was more melodic yet still retaining a lot of the elements of the first two albums. Corey’s first band Stone Sour released their debut two years prior to this one and a lot of the melodic elements on this album are present here. Duality was one of the first Slipknot songs I got into and that catchy chorus is the reason why, not to mention Joey Jordison’s drumming (R.I.P.) is all over the place on this album and unique with each song.

Man Vol 3 🫡 the guitars are so freaking good in it and Joey Jordison is like a beast in the drums🔥
I've been a huge Iowa worshipper the last 15 years I've listened to Slipknot but Vol 3 really has sneaked it's way into my heart

20 years??? WOW 🤯. To be honest, I initially didn't like Volume 3: The Subliminal Verses. It wasn't as super heavy or aggressive as previous album. HOWEVER! I've grown to appreciate the album for what it is. I'm glad Volume 3.... had a profound effect on you, Greg. 🤘😎🤘

It is a different album for sure, but I think it is one of their strongest through virtuosity and experimentation.

I’m not gonna lie. Subliminal Verses is probably their 2nd best album. But for the first year I owned it I was completely upset with it. They went from Surfacing, for those who know, to absolutely no profanity. I bought a 2nd copy. Because it had a Parental Advisory label. The only songs that were profane were on the bonus LIVE ALBUM.

In my opinion the last album I enjoyed by slipknot until I stopped hearing more albums from the band after hearing all hope is gone.

As a lifelong Slipknot fan, I do think the rest of the stuff is just as good, but I always admire the classic line up the most.

I was thinking about it and the album at the same time, so that's why it was reflective for me.
