I can verify that the ZL1 is INDEED one of the BEST cars I've ever owned. Fast, fun, and daily driveable!!! I wish I never sold it ... 😭

Pops Smith same. A bit sad that the front end of the 6 gen looks so much meaner than the challenger. Love my car but the design of the front is so nice
E Garcia I think that that's kind of the point of the challenger concept. It's bringing back the old style. If Chrysler kept changing it as much as they change the mustang or Camaro, I doubt it would still have its "true muscle car" characteristics. Just my thought/input
@@danielkim824 IDK, the fact is Fiat Chrysler are in debt up to their eye balls. I understand alot of progress moving FCC products forward is SUFFERING/slowing downqq development. They focus tons of resources on suv, trucks&jeeps. Least dependable vehicle on American roads. BMW Mini is a POS as well. I have had '14 Rubicon Wrangler, '13 Durango Citadel, and their extra lousy pick truck in 2017. The dealer was making unbelievable deals for quick cash purchases. I hope for a similar experience with the new 2020 RT we plan to buy. What my beautiful woman wants, she very often gets.

I AM an older man, born in the USA in the1950s. My first car was a 1958 Chevrolet Impale, convertible. It had the 283 V8. So, I was in love with Chevrolets and owned more than a couple in my day. The love affair ended when American cars became shoddy, over-smog controlled pieces of s%&t. Well, I am happy to say that cars such as this new Camaro and the Corvette is rekindling my feeling for Chevrolet. It is about time, Chevrolet!

Vincent. I love the new design of the 15+ Mustang but the Camaro is just absolutely brutal looking. It looks like it wants to eat you alive but I do think that the next generation will have more rounded lines compared to the more abrupt, aggressive lines of this gen. I know that there are rumors going around about it being discontinued but I truly think that Chevy is taking a moment to bring on a new designer to revive it to be more friendly considering blind spots and such

I grew up riding around in the 4th gen FBody SS camaro and Firebird/Trans Ams and I loved them. Now I really love the 5th and 6th gen even more. I wish they never stopped producing them after 2002 until they came back.
Except for the fact that the 5th gen Camaro is literally.. THE.. ugliest sports car I’ve ever seen. No style. Just one shape. One boring shape lol. The Trans Am from that era was sexy though. As usual for Pontiac vs. Chevy.

Just seen a twin to this car at a busy intersection. This is the first car to make me stop and rubberneck in years. The stance and lines are just incredible!
I dunno how it looks in other colors but it sure wears black very very well!! Polishing black cars is an art. Find some one that knows how to and invest $$ in a color sand, power buff, hand finnish, detail job.
If your gonna wear black do it right.
I appreciate fast cars, but if you really want monster acceleration, killer brakes, and cornering G forces that makes your inner self preservation scream "oh shit oh shit" then a big 1000cc + sport bike is the only way to roll.
A cheap awd car. A good beater 4x4 pickup spec'd to tow. Any sportbike your heart desires. Makes for a well rounded garage imo.
Lol agree. Exactly what my garage would like except my 07 R1 is wrecked(2 wks ago, still hurt from it), got a lfted 99 z-71 on 33s(needs 35s), and an 07 nissan altima for a fuel sipping daily( not an awd guy, need a rwd daily really)

Finally, Chevy has turned the Camaro into a real badass. I actually prefer it's styling now over the Mustang, and I grew up a Ford guy.

Drove a 2019 today. It has a rear view mirror that turns into a rear camera view that I found terrific. It takes away any problems looking rearward. And it was the 10 speed. Torn between the 10 speed and the manual with rev matching. Probably would pick the 10. Thanks for the look at the 18'.
The paddle shifters are so fun to use, I think A10 is the way to go, but the manual gives that extra connected feeling to the car
The 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE is in 15 place at the Nurburgring of the fastest cars ever made regardless of price and hellcat and mustang are nowhere to be found case closed.

Huge Camaro fan here from New Zealand. I fell in love with them as a child, my grandfather was a car collector, owning many rare and classic European and American cars, but he loved Chevrolet, he had a Chevy model for every year from 1918 up-to the 70'S including many muscle cars, but his favorite and also his day to day car was an 67" SS Camaro! Granddad sold it in the late 80'S but he always regretted it, as did I. So he bought an 84" Z28 Camaro, not as classic a model but not a bad car none the less! after his death and as his collection was slowly sold off, I was lucky enough to take possession of the Z28. unfortunately it never compared to the 67" SS but oh well it's still a Camaro! Oh FYI my second favorite car was his 58 Corvette! The new era of Camaro and Corvette is stunning, they just keep getting better and better!

I did go with the new C7 Corvette though and love that as well but love the Camaros. Brother has the new SS and wants the new ZL1.. I wish he would go for it as its a great car.. Funny thing, I went to test drive a ss 1le the other week and the car literally just drove off the lot and was sold. Now after traveling 1 hour to drive it I was a little disappointed. But then I noticed the new zl1 sitting in the lot and drove that. I was amazed by the vehicle simply amazing!
The earlier 2007 model featured in Transformers is still my favourite aestethically!
As an M3 owner I would love to have one of these - Finally an American M3 on it's own terms. Comfort, styling, handling, and performance that meets or exceeds anything BMW has in their M series vehicles. Amazing job Chevy!

I agree with both of you. GM has been building well balance performance car that shine in both cornering and acceleration forever when compared to the competition they had at the time. And yes Alpha is a much better platform than either the S550 or old LX platforms.

I have a 50th Anniversary SS. I love it, a lot. It hurts to sell it, but I just bought the same nightfall gray, in a ZL1. Its going on the truck, it'll take a week. I feel like a kid at Christmas.

So why is the same car in australia with out the supercharger and not right hand drive and the HJSV version is around 100K, which in reality it should be around 50K due to no supercharger at all is offered ?

No experience here but i would guess the zl1 is considering its a smaller car.
The zl1s power to weight makes it a quicker car

Zack Failla the zl1 has a lot more grip so probably the zl1 but a 4.6 modular will give you whip lash if you peg the throttle quickly

Ray Rocco the Demon is a rip off anyway. Not in the sense it’s over priced for performance, but like ford and the gt350s, dealerships take that limited production number and use it to make one ridiculous mark-up.

Also, the 6 speed manual transmission is 11.7 or 11.8 in the 1/4, the 10 speed auto is 11.4.
2013 GT500 with 6M does 11.6 everytime Motortrend runs the 1/4 mile with it.

Sure it can. just because chevy likes to equip their cars to run better on a road course from the factory, doesn't mean you can't make your suspension stiffer and slap on better rubber.

just brought one home. mine has the 1le package. if I set aside a dollar every time I smile driving this thing, it will pay for itself in no time, and probably have a bit left over for the occasional (and probably inevitable) speeding ticket :) couldn't be happier.

I've had both. I traded my auto Challenger Hellcat for an Auto 2017 ZL1. The ZL1 is definitely faster on street tires. It is equipped with a much better tire and the suspension is much better. The ZL1 is a much better value stock for stock. The only place the Hellcat beats it is space and ease of making extra horsepower.
Adem Hasanovic on street tires the have the same 0-60 and 1/4 times but the zl1 is easier to drive giving you the advantage if a hellcat wants to try from a dig also it’s much lighter so rolls aren’t an issue either
mdmoore23 nothing beats an LS for ease of making more power.
i've driven both... the hellcat clutch is barely operable on a day to day basis, its unforgiving and the raw power is offset in many ways by its sheer size and weight... the zl1 is so smooth, and although it feels less powerful, it handles twice as well... definitely a better "daily" car and "track" car
