PLOT
Headmaster, is an inspired adaptation from POTHICHORU, a short story which portrayed the miserable lives of school teachers in Kerala, during the mid twentieth century. Joseph Mundassery the education minister, read POTHICHORU in the Kerala Legislative Assembly, to reveal the pitiable condition of teachers. Pothichoru pave the way for the revolutionary Education Bill, which was introduced to the assembly in 1958.Though the Bill Failed to get the approval, it inspired a number laws and amendments that substantially improved the salary and ultimately the living standards of school teachers.

ഹൃദയസ്പർശിയായ കഥയുടെ മനോഹരമായ ചലച്ചിത്രവിഷ്കാരം 👍 ഹെഡ്മാഷായി അഭിനയിച്ച ,സാത്വികഭാവമുള്ള നടൻ തമ്പി ആന്റണി വളരെ സ്വഭാവികമായി അഭിനയിച്ചു.
ബാബു ആന്റണിയുടെ അഭിനയജീവിതത്തിലെ വളരെ നല്ല കഥാപാത്രം . മകനായി അഭിനയിച്ച കുട്ടിയും ബാക്കി എല്ലാവരും മികച്ച അഭിനയം കാഴ്ച വച്ചു .
ഈകാലഘട്ടത്തിലെ കുട്ടികളും മുതിർന്നവരും കണ്ടിരിക്കേണ്ട ചിത്രം

സിനിമ കൊള്ളാം; കണ്ടിരിക്കാം. മുമ്പ് ഒരു സിനിമ വന്നിരുന്നു; ഇതുപോലെ, ഫ്ലാറ്റിൽ വെള്ളമില്ലാത്ത അവസ്ഥ. അതിനു മറ്റൊരുനാറ്റമായിരുന്നു. അതിനേക്കാൾ ഏറെ ഭേദമാണ്. എല്ലാവരും നന്നായി അഭിനയിച്ചു. പിന്നെ, പണപ്പൊതി രണ്ടിടത്ത് രണ്ടുപേർക്കു കൈമാറിയപ്പോഴും അതൊരു കാലിബോക്സ് പൊതിഞ്ഞതാണെന്ന് പ്രേക്ഷകർക്കു മനസ്സിലായി. അതുപോലെയാണ് സ്വീകരിച്ചത്. മറ്റൊരു കാര്യം: ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് അവശ്യഘട്ടത്തിൽ ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിൽ പോകുവാൻ ഡോർ തുറക്കാൻ കഴിയാതെ വിഷമിച്ചിരുന്ന ഭർത്താവിന്, ഡോർ ഓപ്പണായി എന്നറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യാതൊരു ഭാവവ്യത്യാസവും കണ്ടില്ല. എക്സ്പ്രഷൻ ചെറുതെങ്കിലും ആകാമായിരുന്നു.

എനിക്ക് ഇത്തരം സിനിമകൾ പൊതുവെ ഇഷ്ടമല്ല. നീന്തുന്ന സിനിമ എന്നാണു പറയുക. കുറച്ചു കണ്ട് അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാമെന്നുകരുതി. പിന്നെയാണ്, മഞ്ജുപിള്ളയെ കണ്ടില്ലല്ലോ എന്നോർത്തത്. ഈ സിനിമയിൽ മഞ്ചു എന്തുചെയ്യാൻ എന്നാണു ചിന്തിച്ചത്. എന്നാൽ, ആദ്യസീനിൽത്തന്നെ മഞ്ജു അതിഗംഭീരമായി അഭിനയിച്ചു. എങ്ങനെ അവസാനിക്കും എന്നു കാണാൻ, ബാക്കികൂടെ കണ്ടു. മാഷായിരിക്കും മോഷ്ടിച്ചതെന്നു തോന്നിയിരുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടും, അത് അവതരിപ്പിച്ച രീതി വല്ലാതെ മനസ്സുലപ്പിച്ചു. ഒരിടത്ത് പ്രധാനാദ്ധ്യാപകനായ അച്ഛന്റെ ഗതികേട്; മറുഭാഗത്ത്, വിശപ്പടക്കാൻ മാർഗ്ഗമില്ലാത്ത അമ്മയുടെ ദുരവസ്ഥ! ക്ലൈമാക്സ് നന്നായി. ആ രഹസ്യം പരസ്യമാക്കാതിരുന്നതു നന്നായി.
എന്റെ കുട്ടിക്കാലവും കുറച്ചൊക്കെ നിഴലിച്ചിരുന്നു. ചില പോരായ്മകളുമുണ്ട്. ഇത്രയും പട്ടിണിയായ കുടുംബത്തിന് അല്പമെങ്കിലും ഭൂമിയുണ്ടല്ലോ? കുറച്ചു കപ്പ സ്വന്തമായി നട്ടുവളർത്താമായിരുന്നു. കപ്പ മാത്രമല്ല; മറ്റു പലതും. മുപ്പതു വർഷമായിട്ടും മാഷിനു കിട്ടുന്നത് പന്ത്രണ്ടുരൂപമാത്രമാണെന്ന് ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് അറിയാതിരിക്കില്ലല്ലോ? അപ്പോൾ, തന്നെക്കൊണ്ടായത് എന്തെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യാമായിരുന്നു. സാരമില്ല, കഥയല്ലേ. ബാബു ആന്റണി കഥാപാത്രത്തെ മികവുറ്റതാക്കി.
