Micro center actually has been flooding locally with refurbushed 3070s and 3080s (a 3080 refurb costing around 340 usd from there)

🙂 theres a cute fish tank MATX case called Okinos Aqua 3, it can still fit a standard matx board either the narrow version or wider version boards, its good for a single fan or dual fan video card. Ask Microcenter to carry it 😊

I want a Fractal North case so bad. The wood on the front is nearly identical to the wood stain on my desk and it would look so good. The Terra is gorgeous but ITX is just so expensive
It's when u realise u need to move a lot, then the itx is really a clutch. I own itx and it's beautiful.

That gigabyte board is GOAT. For rock solid reliability in a hot itx. I bought one for a 5800x and it gets crazy hot in there. Still going strong.

Small form factor cases are all the rage in our dual work-from-home setups. Did a mini-ITX build (Hyte Revolt 3) for my wife. I scored an incredible deal on an open-box MSI Z790 Edge TI motherboard, so for me, I went with the Jonsbo D41, which is almost the exact same size as the Asus AP201 despite being a full ATX case. Form/function over fashion for us.

Personally I'd recommend a slightly larger case for a future build, something that can be built in a reference layout like the Meshroom D from SSUPD, or maybe even Deepcool's new CH160.

I did a Mini-ITX build using the QBX by Cougar Gaming back in 2018 or 2019. It was a challenging build not knowing if all the components were going to fit. I'm curious to see how you would take on the QBX. Btw... the QBX supports a slot loading OPTICAL drive. Now that would be a challenge! Also, I just discovered Cougar Gaming has another Mini-ITX case, the Dust 2 2022. Just by looking at the pics and video, the layout of the components look so much better than the QBX. Check out these two cases!

Mine is 5600x / 3080 ventus .. and it can handle everything at 1440p . My best itx case ever .
Building SFF for $1k? Doing it at all is a win and actually impressive.
You do a great job of working around the "White Tax" for monochromatic white builds and SFF so far!
Man, those questions are hard and I watch pretty consistently. You need to start super simple and ramp up the difficulty as you go. It'll be more fun for the contestant and the viewer. Regardless, love your content!

An ante rule just like in the yugioh wagering something double or nothing, I definitely agree itx is under appreciated when Ed does the builds they are always fun to build, and always have the best experience from that specific Micro Center. Already did my build Am5 Asrock X670E SL, Seagate 530 2tb for boot, Intel Arc A750 (Later switched to 7600XT SL) as the gpu experienced some issues with perfomance tuning, and glad that I made the switch from Intel to AMD RX.
As someone who wants to build a gaming pc, this is just the video I needed. I am not looking to spend a lot of money, ideally anywhere between $1,000-$1,250. Thank you TechSource!
Don’t follow what he did here, pretty awful actually. Instead of an ItX case, get a micro atx or an atx, wayyyy cheaper case and motherboard. NEVER buy a 4060. The 7600xt is the same price, performs way better, and has TWICE the VRAM meaning it will last much longer.

You can mount a 120mm fan below the PSU.
for anyone that doesn’t know, you can do micro centers bundle deals which comes with a motherboard, cpu and ram. If you don’t like one of those parts you can swap it to whatever motherboard / ram you want and pay the difference. He could’ve saved money doing this but it seems like he never knows about these bundles
i think he does but people complain since deals change often. so he just stuck to no deals, but deals are def the way to go

I have built a mini ITX last year, the case was cheap, around 65 Euro. Silverstone SG13. Yes the case is cheap and you notice that on the materials used. But it has an advantage that you even can fit a modestly sized ATX PSU in it which brings down the cost A LOT. I did end up paying the white tax but yea I'm okay with that.
Yea it's all kinda crammed in there but that's the ITX life for ya :)
I wanted a ITX PC I could easily fit in an old backpack I have used for school a 100 years ago, I can fit the case in there with the wires, a wireless gamingmouse and a 60% keyboard. Easy for travel.
My next step will be to build it in a suitcase with also a portable monitor mounted. It would be more of a flex move then a usefull one because the way it is now, a Ryzen 5 5600, 16 gigs of DDR4-3600 and a 1660 Super and as storage a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro which I bought for a great price on sale 6 months prior to deciding to build an ITX so yea.. I'm happy witi it.
I ended up only buying the case, mobo, CPU and RAM to finish my ITX, the rest were new, newish or used parts from other projects, I only had a Ryzen 7 5800X on my shelf so I had to buy that 5600 which is perfectly fine for what I do with it. Because it's just a secondary computer, so I dont have to haul 30-40lb of PC everywhere I want to take it.
I like that it was actually at the budget including tax. It doesn’t make any sense to not include tax in builds with a set budget. (Yes I understand some states don’t have tax but if you’re building in a state or country that has sales tax it should be in there)
These are my favorite type of videos you do! But I think you should add a 10$ headway room for the budget. Most people set a budget but usually have a little extra to add just in case. So theoretically 1010$ would be in budget. I get its part of the video but hurts my soul to see you downgrade quality for lower price of like 3$.

u can see the before and after tax, and he has mentioned(also obvious) that different places have different tax.
my dream ITX MOBO is Asus Rog Strix X470-I Gaming mini itx, all bells, whistles and looks the part but rare to find now
You should challenge yourself to building the worlds most lightest mini itx case like the velka 3
Deskmeet x300 is a SFF case that basically comes preinstalled with a power supply, and motherboard that can fit cards up to 7.8 inches in length the case is $189 but it includes the two things I listed I found it the easiest way to get into SFF/mini PC cases and save a bunch of room.
You should try building in the formd t1. It's a PC case you assemble your self and good contender for water cooling.

SFF is getting really good. I would love to see you take on a high power ITX build at some. Challenging space and temperature constraints overcome and for a PC the size of a shoe box.

You should ask pc history questions or pc part questions
PBO and XMP works on any a520 boards but software O.C. is not working for ram or cpu even if you can do it trough UEFI settings manually.
fun fact: if you buy a prebuilt pc like an acer nitro pc XMP CANNOT be enabled even if it is a b550 chipset

Looks so good, I just can’t warrant the price tag for sfx. Like you walked out with less specs than a prebuilt and spent more and actually had to build it yourself. I can’t make myself spend more to get worst performance.
I think it would be nice a step by step build guide on this case since is very compact, and is not your typical case to build on.
