My favorite trout rod is still the Shakespeare wonder rod , I've had mine since I was 16 yrs old I bought it at a yard sale in Boyne Falls . ( I'm 50 this year ) and still fish that rod , I've had new eyes put on once back in the 90's )
A "real" rod I can take on the bus. SOLD!
Shakespeare is my favorite fishing brand. I have had a Shakespeare since the age of 12 when my dad bought my first one.
A 1/4 twist while putting the pieces together is the way. Reverse to disassemble.
I need this. As have had mad success and longevity with my GX.2 5.1. Lasted 6 years. For truck/car/hiking this is quality for a great price in a packable size.
Can you break it down with the line still attached?
My GX2 only comes in 2 pieces?
Mine doesn’t fit in the bag even with the reel handle collapsed

I just noticed this the other day at Walmart and I think I’m gonna have to get it… Plus I have a backpack tackle bag and it would fit nicely in the rod holder on the side. Thanks for the video!
It’s pretty crazy how good fishing gear has gotten over the past 25-30 years. My dads gear that was good then is so prehistoric now (especially the reels). Good gear just keeps getting better and less expensive. Ugly stiks are a good value for sure

I love Ugly Stik's. Have at least 10 of them and it's pretty much all I use. I don't have a 4 pc. packable version, though!

I think this may be perfect for my motorcycle trips to northern canada.
the reel on mine broke shortly after buying it and using it once. the only complaint i have about the rod is lining up the eyes, i wish there was a line on the rod at where they connect
Dang it i just bought a 4pcs kastking brutus...now i have to get the ugly stick as well. I have the tiny ultra lite gx2 with a size 25 reel. Great for river trout. Sometimes i out fish the fly guys
Think it could handle Northern Pike?
Im a beginner i Started out with a 202 zebco, friend gave me a zebco 404, but this coming payday im getting the gx2 ugly stick it gotta be better than what im using now
