On my 23 both the plastic body tabs the two metal posts go into came out with the tail light. One was also missing a felt washer so that's something to watch for. I had to pry them off the OEM lights and push them back into the body. My previous 4runner had no problems like that when swapping.

not sure on that. You can check with a Toyota Dealerships parts department - they may be able to give you the part number even if you dont buy the clips from them

I saw a video where a man put 4/5 strips of Duct tape on the side of the light assembly with enough to leave a handle to pull on and it worked fine for him.
