I tried it on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and was impressed with it. It’s not perfect performance but it’s playable imo and it’s just cool to see on the iPhone.
How did you get it?
Performance on the iPad Pro has more space and more RAM, which is more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max

From my own testing I was able to get a pretty consistent 45fps at 1950 x 900 with metal fx turned off, and medium settings across everything else! This game looks incredible with metal fx turned off, but the only way I achieved this at 45fps was to take an ice pack from the freezer and place it under the phone haha. This phone is clearly powerful enough for this but is limited by the thermals. Surprised I’m not seeing more people talk about this. Very interested to see how this game holds up when using some kind of external cooler, and maybe some further updates and optimization.
Oh yeah I used a cooler as well. probably also why my testing didn't show same results as above. I knew from the beginning A17 would thermal throttle hard, my A16 did just playing genshin and A17 is even more constrained.
Buy a cooler bro,even snapdragon isnt better with thermal throttling,iphone has good processor but the thermal solution isnt the greatest
But the image /game looks different on PC vs mobile.. it's not the same ... Looks like a Xbox 360 game on mobile
Because of the texture is lower quality on mobile (you clearly can see that on the file size, Mac has a doubled in size, just because of the better quality textures are taking more space on the SD card too)

Imagine getting the ports of games that have been on switch. Witcher 3, Dying Light, and Doom 2016. Those should look and run real well on iPhone and especially iPad
I have a 15 pro max and while I'm not a huge fan of horror games I did give this a shot. I'm most looking forward to assassin's creed mirage so much so that I've held off on purchasing it on my usual platform of PC. I don't expect much past 30fps but I'm hoping it'll be great!

Honestly the setting you put for high/medium graphics look really good. From now on I am going to use it. I also put the fps to 60 and it seems to stay at the frame rate

Woooooow this is impressive. I do have a steam deck and a switch so I’ll just as easily keep my phone for phone stuff/media streaming but DANG these things are so powerful. They are tiny! And playing 3D games like this!

The thing is this is just the beginning. I felt like it was personally not worth it just yet to upgrade to an iPhone just so you could play these games, but I must say it's pretty great on the Apple M1 iPad Air. I definitely would recommend that much more, specially when it's easy to get it far cheaper than the new iPhone 15 Pro.
I genuinely think the M2 in the iPad Air will interest me a lot because I think that will be the sweet spot and feel less compromised. I'm hoping next year they'll have improved on Metal FX aswell. It feels like FSR 1.0, but like most have already done, Apple can improve theirs, make it a feature to add in the next big iOS update. I do think next year's generation of iPhone will prove interesting.
Just to add, I bought the game because it was only £13 here thanks to a promotion currently going on!

For a game I agree the upgrade is not worth but for usb c definitely worth the upgrade for photographers videographers and content creators this is the one which was used to shoot the Apple keynote yesterday

There so few doing anything like this channel, but I think it’s going to start paying off for him now that console games are going to start flooding in. I’ve been gaming on iOS since 2009 and it’s my favourite medium, back in those days we had an app called touch arcade which would bring the latest news on new iPhone/ipad games but nothing like that anymore.

Is it possible that the performance will be some watched better with eight gigs of memory versus the six that you are using on the 15 Pro? And the temperature might be less because of the heat distribution on the 15 promax?

I played this on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. but somehow halfway, the game gets close. and it takes me out of the game. Is that my setting? kindly help? After falling down the mountain when I enter the Village after walking for a while the game gets closed and kicks me out. PLEASE HELP!!!

I was enjoying this game for two days the suddenly it crashed. With an error message “saved data from a different apple id cannot be used. application failed to launch” I cannot use it and haven’t used any other ICloud account
Idk why everyone crying so much about touch controls. I'm playing with them. I did full costume on layout and buttons size plus opacity whats suits me. Only left stick could be more responsive. Sure controller could help, but it's totally usable.
P.S- I have small hands and I'm playing in pro MAX
I assume they only let you customize the settings since it's on iPad and as the years go by the phones will be better at running it.

iPhone 15 Pro is definitely powerful enough to support ray-tracing. It has separate modules in the GPU that implement that without lowering the quality/speed of other aspects of graphics. The issue is that the SoC would overheat quicker, so it is disabled. But it will work on M3 Macintoshes and M3 iPads.

Once they put out a few updates it’ll be perfect I’m sure. Hopefully the games sell because you’ll get games like this and eventually Apple TV will be treated like a home console. Btw this is compatible with an iPhone 14 Pro too which many people have.

You definitely need a controller and not to use the display ones .
Over all it’s not bad at all but this ones are games that you need to play on the big screen.

For the pro max I put the resolution at 1080p metal effects performance and everything low generally decent experience but it played better outside as where I’m from it’s cold and cools the phone

So I played this RE village on an iPhone 15 pro for about an hour in low-mid settings, and it ran pretty smooth for the most part. As you could probably imagine that this AAA game makes the phone hot 🥵 cooling solution?

This was a great video on how iPhone 15 plays RE Village. I personally don’t have the new iPhone but I have bought it for an M1 iPad Pro day 1 of release and let me tell you that it runs so much better in quality and frame rate on the M1 iPad

Triple A console games on IPhone 15 is too good to be true. Still a long way to go.
Given that the game only runs on A17 Pro and M1+, I assume it uses the same BC7 texture compression format as the other platforms. Older A series GPUs don't support BCn texture compression.
No, it’s only because it need 8gb minimum. iPhone 14 could also run it but it has 6gb

It’s on the iPad Pros, it’s a shame this review came out first as by the comments people are getting the impression iOS cant handle it well, I wish I had a channel to show you just how good and amazing it plays on the m2 iPad Pro especially the 16gb models, I’m on 60 fps and maxed everything out. I’ve completed this on my Mac mini and ps5 and it’s an identical experience. Ps5 is the smoothest but it’s so close that I would play everything on my iPad if I knew it was coming to iPad Pro.

great review. i’m not actually surprised as someone that has used apple arcade for many games I know many of these games can run just as good on modern phones. a modern ipad can actually render many of video game consoles obsolete! i think nintendo is heading that way 😮 I think they’re gonna build an special tablet for their next gen!

Yes significantly I believe the lack of active cooling is causing the phones to throttle too much. I’m sure that’s why he was crashing at higher settings. A fan or MagSafe fan attachment would really let it show its stuff imo. Apple really needs to upgrade their cooling solution on the phones. Vapor chambers or whatever I dunno

It is performing worse than I expected. The GPUs in these devices are already very powerful, regardless of whether they are Android or iPhone. Even though they say they have done a special optimization, they have not. MetaFX is unfortunately a technology that works poorly like FSR 1 (it lowers the render resolution, adds blur, and then sharpens the blur). If FSR 2 itself could come to these games, then with the FSR performance option, it would be possible to get good image quality and performance due to the small screen.

It’s another level on m1 m2 silicon iPads. iPad Pros going forward need 16gb ram as basic because these games benefit a lot from 16gb. I can max out the settings full and have a better gaming experience then my 8gb m2 Mac mini

This would have looked much more impressive if it wasn't on a $1000+ phone or tablet. I personally feel like gaming handhelds are just gonna kill this mobile market before it takes off. Especially if Steam Deck manages to become popular in Asia as thats probably where majority of mobile gamers are from. They already have MASSIVE library of games ready to play and can even emulate android apps.

We’ll, this certainly doesn’t look like it was quite ready for release yet. They definitely should have set a dialled in settings preset(it’s only available for one specific piece of hardware for the next year!). Thankfully low res games look way better on a smaller screen than they do blown up on a UA-cam video but image quality still isn’t a game changer. I’d wait for a patch or 2 and hopefully Capcom can dial in a few things.(but don’t hold your breath)
I have an iPhone11 Pro Max so no luck there but I do have an M1 Pro MacBook and I have purchased it there but haven’t played yet due to my schedule. But yeah it’s great to see AAA games on iPhone and mane more that announced so it’s crazy to think as well. I am more of a mobile gamer as I am a cod mobile content creator and this is a huge W in my opinion. Thanks for your videos man, much love❤️

That’s most likely why his device was underperforming. Its hitting 45-60 fps easily in other tests pretty easily the screen recording is taking away too many resources from the game to run properly
