Just bought the same vehicle in Baltic Gray. Awesome in every way! Hemi is a joy to drive. The McIntosh 950 Watt System is why I went with this one. Sets it apart from all the rest!
Congrats! Nice and the Hemi definitely sets it apart ha!
Hey Chris , does it burble when it downshift?
liar 🤡
what's your problem 🐕
2014 Grand Cherokee Summit owner. 203k never changed the breaks and truck has been flawless. 2022-Jeep nailed it again for the price. Try getting this technology in a German SUV for the price. Waiting on the no-hands technology and then will order.
Yeah very curious about their autonomous tech. Was supposed to arrive this summer.
200k miles without changing the brakes?
I ordered mine 2row same color and I haven’t get any updates yet 😩😩 I just can’t wait to have this car on my hands
Oh nice congrats!
I ordered same thing on the 25th of Jan. 7 days later had a VIN, this past Saturday I got the Jeep wave email saying it should be in by March 11th!!! Bet you’ll get your info soon!
@@JOSHSMITH-ak47
Attempted to reply to the previous comment you left earlier, but it looks like it was removed.
Congratulations
You get any updates yet?! I ordered mine on Jan 25th and should be in this week!!!
Good value for money, and a lot of car by all accounts!
Just received my 2022 Summit Reserve 2 weeks ago & I love it!! AMAZING features, tech & comfort!!
Nice congrats!
@@CarGuy11 thank you 🙏🏽
liar 🤡
V8?
Should get mine this week!!!! 🔥🙌 (will be IDENTICAL to this one you drove in video!) - Ordered on Jan 25th, they said it’s one of the fastest builds they’ve ever seen especially given current conditions/availability… super pumped to say the least!
Wow that’s great congrats!!
@@CarGuy11 appreciate your it boss, I’ve watched your video like 100x or since I ordered just over a month ago 😂 thanks again for the review!

I wish they didn't gatekeep the the V8 and the Quadra-Trac II systems behind the Overland and up. Give us a High Altitude or Limited with no air suspension and with the V8 and QT-II, would make this vehicle a lot more affordable and appealing to people for purchase. We don't need all the bells and whistles but we do need the stuff that makes a proper offroad capable family hauler.
Agreed and unfortunately they are discontinuing the V8.
@@CarGuy11 It's why I'm looking at GCL's with the HEMI right now. I think they'll hold value a lot better than the v6 models. But lets be honest, it's a Jeep Grand Cherokee, these things hold value about as well as a paper bag holds water.
Hope they have a option where you can get a blacked out exterior instead of the chrome later on.
Yes they have a Altitude version but it’s based on the Laredo trim.
Where did you learn that the previous generation air suspension did not adjust damping and that the new generation air suspension does adjust damming? I have also heard the old version was an open loop system, and that the new one is closed-loop. I am not sure what that means mechanically, but they were inferring - I think - that a closed loop system is more reliable; that is as far as air suspensions go.
I would definitely get the top wrapped the same color as the body to eliminate that black roof and pillars. I would also wrap all the exterior chrome gloss black and change the rims to black also or get the ones shown powder coated in black gloss.
Yeah they offer a High Altitude package now which blacks things out.
@@CarGuy11 hopefully they don’t black out the roof also
Good engine sound !!!
Yeah good ole V8!
Good looking vehicle. Unfortunately I can only afford the model that's 10 years old. Just picked up a '12 Limited.
Haha yeah they sure have gone up in price.
What's interesting is that you didn't even talk about the passengers screen in the dash about the glove compartment.
I did mention it in beginning of video.
@@CarGuy11 My bad yes you did. Haha It was so quick I barely noticed. 🤣
So would you say that this hemi could be compared to the RT Durango? If you had to compare it?
I haven’t driven an RT but yes same power. Kinda wish they offered the 6.4L Hemi in Grand.
The Durango is an unchanged dark cave compared to this.
like it..... just wish I could get a V8 in the base Laredo
Agreed or in Limited at least.
Some nice improvements and additions compared to last gen. $1800 destination charge is ridiculous, and just adds to their profit. Good hwy cruiser and low 20s mpg. But the Hemi sucks the gas in pure city driving... I get 13mpg in mine. Wish they didn't make the vehicle bigger.
Oh cool glad to hear from an owner. Totally agree on size especially since they have the L now.
liar 🤡
I really like my previous generation Fully Loaded V8 Overland. Sat in one of these new ones and... WOW! I don't think Jeep failed to include a single Bell & Whistle option! Everything from massaging seats & HUD, to driving & parking assist.
Yeah definitely premium luxury features.
liar 🤡
Will the motor eat itself via valve train issue?
the motor design has been pretty good since 2008 its been pretty much the same since then so should be pretty reliable i feel like thats why they kept this choice and havent touched it in terms of power or torque
If you want reliability and low maintenance order the V6 Pentastar engine that is 5 star rated and very durable.
@@WDJ40_RUNAWAY def, my V6 in my 2011 GC got me 175k miles with 0 and I mean ZERO issues!
@@WDJ40_RUNAWAY I have seen the penstar last 60 to 80k till the valve train gets gobbled up
Sat in one of these the other day. Priced about the same as the GC in your vid. Very luxurious, it honestly felt like a baby Grand Wagoneer. That being said, I see nothing but problems for these new tech/screen dash set ups. I think the JEEP brand is at its best/most reliable when there is less tech (stuff that can break/fail) involved in the equation.
That’s fair but has to keep up with the competition. Also these are over the air updatable so should be able to fix any issues.
Thinking of going from an X6 to the Reserve…I hope it’s the right decision. Haven’t seen any major negatives. This seems like an equitable downgrade 😂.
This won’t handle as well but will be better off road. More room tho.
@@CarGuy11 Yea, nothing will compare but hubs says I’m not on the autobahn anymore so 😭. But, the tech on this is Sick! Great review by the way.
@@tsals_antics9472 Thanks for watching!
They will also make a V6 turbo and highbrid
Yes but I still like the Hemi lol.
just a V6 no turbo
@@Dad_of_War Its kinda always straining to keep up that Pentstar V6
It is a 3.0L in-line 6 Turbo now available in the Grand Wagoneer Series lll with dual turbos.
I thought the V8 is not available anymore . I’m glad that I was wrong ;)
I believe it’s still available on the L.
@@CarGuy11 it’s available on both .
It's beautiful and one of the cars I'm looking at, but the interior sounds loud.
It’s decently quiet but not up to luxury brands.
Why charge extra for the Hemi ?
If the future is going EV,
EPA climate change it’s BS
59 degrees shown inside the dash but snow on the outside 😂😂😂😂😂
Haha strange never noticed that!
i own a 2020 Grand Cherokee Summit with the V-6, don't need the Hemi, especially in Communist California where gas prices are $6.49.9 cents for 89 octane, top tier, not required with the V-6, use it anyway. The only thing I don't like about the 2022 Grand Cherokee is the standard black roof on the Summit, not certain if that can be deleted, and that lower black unnecessary piece below the roof that wraps around the back window. The GC-L model is much cleaner in its' design, regardless I love the Jeep GC, owned five, two with Hemi's, three with 3.6L V-6, never a problem, always reliable.
Great to hear thanks!
I like what Stellantis designers updated with the 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a 2016 Grand Cherokee Limited and am going to order a new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited from the factory. I am going to add options including Dual pane Sunroof, upgraded 10.1 Info screen, 505 watt Alpine sound, 20 inch polished alloy wheels, heavy duty tow package and luxury tech group. This pushes the price up to $53.600 but it still below a loaded Overland model. Be aware that Jeep offers different four wheel drive systems now... before you could get a Quadra Trac II system with Low 4WD in the previous model on the lower trim levels. Now the Quadra Trac I is available in the lower trim models and functions as an AWD system and has no Low range. You can get the Low Range in the Overland and Summit models. In the Trailhawk model you can get Quadra Drive four wheel drive which has a front transfer case and locking rear differential.
Thanks for the clarifications. It’s too bad you can’t order the V8 on the Limited trim anymore.
liar 🤡
I have a Loaded Summit Reserve with the Hemi on order. Can't wait to get it and why I'm watching this review. Curious what others think about it. Also the insane trade in prices of used cars allowed this to happen. My 2018 Hellcat is getting such a high number there will be little difference between the trade in and the cost of the GC which I will mention the dealership which I'm purchasing it from is selling at sticker. My third from them. I know there's a lot of "market adjustment" aka ripping buyers off. That's what I think anyway.
Congrats! Yeah it’s worth buying new now if you can buy for sticker.
I ordered mine in January and it arrived this week. Good luck! Hope you love it as much as I do mine.

It looks like it is now or never for the V-8.
The timing couldn't be worse given the current and possibly future oil prices. I would take the Trailhawk over this version. The wheels look cool but the low profile tires are not a good choice for this vehicle or any kind of off roading. At 72K it is about 20K over what I think the car is worth. You may disagree but there will come a time to sell it and what will you get for it.? All the other cars will be E-cars soon enough and you will be selling a car that displays 9.8 mpg
Yes I’m sure they will blame poor sales for getting rid of the V8.
I have the 2022 grand chsrokee L summit reserve 5 7 76k
Nice!
Nice vehicle, but crazy expensive. You can get a Lincoln Aviator Reserve model for basically the same money. I understand that the Jeep has more off-road capability, but the Lincoln is far more luxurious, sports 3 rows and has a 400hp engine.
Yeah the upper trims are definitely pricey.
@Saluki bean counter
The Aviator is just a souped-up Ford Explorer, not to mention, the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve has superior tech, more innovative features plus the Grand Cherokee also has a more cohesive, ergonomically friendly interior (i.e., no iPad like infotainment screen affixed to the top of the dash like the Aviator).
0:54 sound is disappointing :(
Nothing an exhaust can’t fix ha! Also there is a 4K rev limiter in Park.
71k?
Yea for this top of the line model. Other trims are much cheaper.
@@CarGuy11 couldnt you get a Mercedes for that price?? Wait are you in canada because thats the only way that thing is 71k
Wow I would straight pipe it so fast lol
Haha
$4.50 per gallon rn gonna swing with the v6 lol
Yeah these prices make the V8 a tough sell.
$71000 for a Jeep !
Welcome to 2022 😆
Can say the same for my neighbors new full size Bronco. Talk about overpriced, and troublesome so far!
Haven't seen anything about the Jeep Cherokee 😕 seems to be a mystery 🤔
Yeah unfortunately no 2022 model. This is a nice upgrade but it is rather large compared to Cherokee.
