HOW TO MAKE A FAIRYTALE CAFE FOR YOUR EVER AFTER HIGH DOLLS

- This isn't a dorm room, but it is a place for my daughter's Ever After High dolls to hang out. It even contains some Ever After High furniture from the playset, "Beanstalk Bakery & Cafe Playset." If I am going to make an Ever After High doll series or doll videos - as many of you have been asking me to do - then I should at least give them a place to hang out and get together, right?
So that's the idea behind this latest Ever After High craft. Here are the steps I took to make this Fairytale Cafe:
- I used a large open cube from Hayneedle.com. It measures 30 inches wide by 15 inches high by 15 inches deep.
- I chose a flooring...a duck tape that resembles hardwood floors, and I laid it down in strips.
- I chose some wallpaper. Since it's a Fairytale Cafe, I thought it would be great to use some papers from the "Once Upon A Time" scrapbook paper collection. I think I found this one at Hobby Lobby once upon a time.
- I then chose some trims..."Olive Leaves" by Papersource, and a champagne-colored ribbon from Papersource. I lined the tops and bottoms with those trims.
- I added in all the furniture from my Ever After High Beanstalk Bakery and Cafe playset. But it wasn't enough. I also added in a bunch of miscellaneous pink furniture I had bought off of Ebay while looking for the perfect stuff for CA Cupid's dorm room.
- I added windows and curtains. Windows are dollhouse miniature frames by Mayberry Street, and curtains are from a stack of fat quarters I once purchased at Joann Fabrics. They are a beautiful vine-colored green - just perfect for a place called, "Beanstalk Bakery."
- For more faux food, I added some of the "Strawberry House" miniatures by Re:Ment - specifically, pieces of the Fondue Set and the Strawberry Vanity and bedroom.
And that was it, really! Hope you all liked this latest Ever After High craft from me...and I look forward to creating all kinds of fun doll scenes in this new hangout!

Qoq, that is so impressive. I was honestly impressed and enthralled. I have admired that paper stack for years but unable to buy it in Canada, but my goodness it is soooo perfect for your project. And good idea of using the tape for the floor because it would be difficult to have layered paper for a restaurant! Colour me excited. I too use alternate furniture with my EAH doll furniture!

So beautiful! What a pity I cannot get those papers here in Germany. Interesting how you arranged all those different styles and colors. When I am watching your videos, I start becoming a child again. In Germany we have to wait some months before we can buy the dolls you already have for a while. Could you do more diy furniture instead of just using doll playset furnitire? Don't get me wrong, I love your doll rooms, it's just that if you don't have the playsets, you basically can't make the room and I would love to be able to make the whole room!
Hi there, thank you for commenting...but you know what? That's where I'm bad! I'm just a lazy Mom, and I'd rather just buy the furniture than make it. Frankly, I don't know how. Plus, this Ever After High furniture looks so amazing, I can't envision using anything else. But I am slowly teaching myself to craft more from scratch...it's just not my strong suit. :-)
Dolls, Toys, and Games Gal thanks for replying! If furniture is not your strongsuit, I would suggest watching a few videos from the UA-cam channel, My Froggy Stuff. They have great ways to turn everyday items into amazing doll creations! I love the ever after high furniture too, but making your own is equally as great! And don't worry about not being good at something, mistakes are how you learn! Don't be afraid at opening up and trying something new, you might find that you're actually better than you thought!
