I test drove both 2022 versions and I will say that the Sorrento is definitely more sportier a little bit more of a rugged drive. Seats are more rugged too. The Sorrento does pick up off the line much quicker. Then the Telluride is very very luxurious feeling in terms of material used and it looks really good. But I found it just a lil bit sluggish and the vehicle felt super heavy in the back , as if I had a tractor trailer added on to it. So i liked that you mentioned the engine. But i did get to sit inside the 2023 kia sorento all blacked out inside and out and it is definitely a step up in terms of styling and it did feel very comfy.
I got a 2023 sorento sx in wolf grey. I did not expect to love it as much as I do

I have a 22sx. It's a quick car. I throw it in sport when needed and can zip around
I’m about to buy one of these. I don’t need a 3rd row often and I like the sportiness of it. Lastly I know it’s psychological but I like the pricing of the Sorrento better. There is something about being just under $50k as opposed to just over for me. I know it’s strange but I think you just can’t beat it in terms of styling, performance and appointments for that mid $40k range
Not a great time to buy a Kia/Hyundai. Currently all 8 speed DCT’s are recalled, and the fire-risk is affecting more and more vehicles. We’ve had a ‘22 Tucson for the past year and a half, and have had many issues. We’re steering clear of them for our next vehicle.
Does the telluride fall into that category as well ?

My 2021 has been in the shop awaiting a transmission since January steer clear of the sorrentos
With any recall the dealers will take care of it
@@Drpepperkev4 sure but then you might not get your vehicle back for weeks if they have to wait on a part (like us) bc of supply chain issues, and good luck getting a “loaner” in this car market, much less an awd suv loaner for winter like what youre used to…
Is it the ride smooth? Do you feel all the tiny cracks in the road?
The size of a MURANO, but passenger volume of a traverse(152.4 vs257.2 and the acceleration of an MDX (5.7) with high torque turbo.Sorento xline sx prestige is the best 3 row!
It has a stunning-looking design and is very comfortable. It's nearly as good as the Toyota Highlander. Although the Sorento has a concerning reliability track record.
My girlfriend had a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and it literally caught on fire.

@@speaktruth247 I still drive a Kia, not someone who has one setback and gives up on something. Just more cautious of the ones with DCT and GDI engines.

They still charge dealer packages. While not necessarily a mark up, it feels pretty much like that. I've had nothing but bad experiences with Jerry Seiner Kia locations. They refuse to remove their dumb packages and don't tell you about other hidden fees until your too far into negotiations (which is why they haven't earned my business). Even if you have a dealer somewhere else selling at MSRP and show proof, they brush you off and say "well, we can't do anything." Such a joke.
Love the Sorento though, it's a fun car.
Exactly! They say they don’t mark up their prices but then add on a $2400 dollar GA security package and a $2000 jerry seiner protection package and when you try to negotiate with them on taking anything off from their $4000 add on they say “but we sell at MSRP.” No you don’t if you’re not willing to take off $4000 in unwanted dealer add ons that are bogus

Hey Ben, whats a super refined vehicle like the Defender but at a much lower budget and from a more reliable brand? I'm talking road noise and general refinement at motorway speeds.

I flew from California to slc to jerry seiner kia to get my Telluride! I love this dealership. Best service and no markups.
I really like the way the sorento looks. Just wished it had HUD and it didn't use DCT. Otherwise one would be sitting in my driveway right now.

Why? Why? Why Kia? Why? Why put that ugly separated instrument display instead of that huge seamless display that's offered in the CHEAPER Sportage and also on the Telluride? This doesn't make sense at all. What a deal breaker!!!!

@@cubfan23100 no. Quite frustrating. I have to bring it back to the dealer for a coupe of day for then to trouble shoot further.
I think it's either the right axle of the wheel bearing. But it's just isn't bad enough for them to be sure about.
Never buy a KIA car ever ! The engine has a well known flaw that will fail normally right after your warranty is over no matter how well you have maintained it. The main bearings will fail causing the engine to jam-up. Worse is KIA has not address this problem and so letting its customers to bear all the damaged cost.
you mean it fails after the 10 year warranty?
My forte is going on 8 years and drives like the day I bought it. Speak for yourself. If you mean it’ll jam up after the 10 year warranty, well, after 10 years, it’s time for a new car anyways.
@@Orion33759 you're right. However KIA is very badly represented here. My Sorento engine i.e. Thetha II engine jammed up was clearly KIA's faulty engine design as proven by many cases in the US and on the websites. KIA is getting multiple sued over there. KIA is aware of this problem, but not bothered to recall its faulty cars or at least highlight its service centres/ customers.
@@Orion33759 My KIA Sorento has 5 years warranty and the engine jammed up without any warning whatsoever on the 6th year !
My Kia is past the warranty, over 130k miles and it runs great! Have no complaints. They have the best warranty for a reason…..
