I've been a HUGE fan of yours since I took up sewing last year when the pandemic started. You've given me the courage to try new things, and I even got my kids to give me a sewing machine for Christmas! I still enjoy the no-sew option, though. 😁 This video inspired me to try something I've been wanting to do since last summer - add seam pockets to a pair of pants (with a combination of sewing, fabric glue and fusible web). I DID IT!!!!!!! Thank you for instilling in your subscribers that we CAN do it! The pants look great and I'm SO proud of myself. Keep doing what you're doing, Angelina. Love you! 🧡
The rubber band also helps with the loose zipper - you just need to loop it through the zipper's hole (the one in the puller) and then you zip it up, loop the band on the button and button up. So if zipper goes down, the band tugs it back up
I appreciate you so much! I sew but have not done much upcycling. You have inspired me to stop giving away all these "shrunken" pre-pandemic clothes (with tags on them)! Now I'm excited to start this adventure rather than sad about these clothes not fitting! Thank you!
LOVE ALL the looks! IDK how I discovered that hairband hack, but that's how I temporarily expanded all my pants/jeans during all my pregnancies. It was a clothes saver for sure...lol🖤💙🤍
I like all the options you have shown. I think my favorite is the dress shirt. However, because I do sew, I would use my sewing machine for the front. And instead of the grommets, I would have to make handsewn eyelets because metal is too irritating to my skin. Same withe the separating zipper. I might try something else although I love the idea. I can't even wear t-shirts with any kind of sequins because my skin would be raw. Last night I was so excited thinking of you posting a new video today. Always get me thinking about how much my wardrobe is changing with so many ideas and techniques. Thank You!
Loved all your upsizing ideas for shrinking clothes! 😜 Now, I am not a no-sew lady and as such, I loved your sewing tip additions. As I mentioned on Instagram (when you announced you were making this video) I will upsize a pencil skirt I own (it has a matching Chanel-style jacket so I just cannot get rid of it) and turn it into a tutorial very soon, and I will definitely link to this video then!
I love the blazer idea... how clever even if the blazer fit just to not have to wear so many layers. The shirt is WOW.... it looks so cute. I have put panels in front and sleeves. But this was so clever. I LOVE the lacing!
Zippers : Buying the zippers “ by the yard” will ensure you have matched zippers……also you then could use different colour zippers in each section…..mix or match 😉
@@BlueprintDIY I love zippers by the yard!!!! But I've never seen that they sell separating zippers. I use them so that I can make baby things that zip from the bottom up and top down to make changing diaper easier
Really appreciate this vid 💕had to upsize a pair of my fave Denim pants the other day by ,cutting them into boy shorts ,slit the sides open and used the remains of the pant leg to add to the sides 🎉🎉I loved how it turned out ❤️I used a previous pant hack where u added the pieces of the sweat pants to extend the fit as inspiration,Thank u so much 💕❤️
Loving all these new tricks to an old problem that we have been dealing with for years. Thanks for teaching me about up cycling. It’s saving my wallet in ways you can’t imagine. The things you bring to us is always 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. What you did to that shirt, I want to do just because it’s so sticky cute. Love the jacket idea, because you can make it to have changeable tops. FIRER, that’s all I can say. Angelina you are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and I love you for it💕❤️❣️
I also plan to put two coats together the way you did the suit jacket. The jacket I really like is tight across the breast and the other jacket ripped up but the front is ok. So I plan to combine the two. I’ll take picks n put it on FB for you to see.
@@BlueprintDIY You're welcome. Can't wait to see your other ideas and hacks! How much does your online class cost. I am a beginner sewer. Last time I went to Hobby Lobby and looked in the pattern book. I came home and said I need to learn to sew properly lol.
Very nice detailed video. I do sew so if I decide to do any of these ideas I will use the sewing machine definitely. With the Jacket I would only use the front part but oh my working with the fashion fabric and slippery lining of the Jacket to add the zipper and do not show the stitches in the front of the fabric fashion is a challenge for me. I have a maxi linen skirt with a zipper just need an extra 1" to close all.the way up... in the waist. I wear the skirt with no closing the entire zipper and the length of my top helps. Thanks to mentioned and adding the link of the satin shoes. That outfit is awesome. Shoes caught mv attention right away.
GREAT and timely ideas, ma'am!! I'm inspired to try the blouse with inserts. Also, I wonder if there's a way to do a turtleneck or cowl neck attachment for under the blazer?? Love ya!!
I thrifted a gorgeous gray handmade men's tuxedo top with beautiful split sleeves meant for cufflinks. Would love to attach them to the end of a blazer sleeve❤🤔as well as adding the pleated tuxedo shirt portion to the opening of the blazer. Sadly it was too small for me to close, but I kept it to upcycle.
It also depends on where it is manufactured at. Sis purchased a coat from Rosegal in 3x so bulky sweaters could be worn under it. It fitted her grand daughter who wore a size 10 US. One site I was just looking at, their 2x is a US 14.
I just found this now -- you are soooooo creative. This is an excellent video -- I found several very helpful ideas -- I have a "thick" waist, there is little difference between my hip and waist measurements. So when I buy pants to fit my hips they don't fit my waist and I'm always looking for a way to increase the size of the waist. If I buy them big enough for my waist, they just don't fit properly when I take them in!
One thing I would do with the dress pants is move the bar of the hook and loop over so it could still be closed. It would just polish off the waistband fit I think and provide a bit more confidence that even if the elastic failed, the bar would likely hold the waistband together. These pants look so nice on you.
Thank you for sharing. I have trousers with no waist opening but that are pulled up with a elastic band. They are hard to put on as you have to extend them all the way up in place. I open in the back, and add a zipper there (there is no pulling in the small of the back) and at the waist (elastic band raw edge) I add a biais tape to finish the edge and a hook. Of course there is need for sewing (hand or machine).
Great ideas. Look #1 Q: I noticed you inserted the zippers with the zipper pulls facing into the fabric, so wouldn’t that make it hard to zip open and closed?🤔🤔🤔

Such great looks!! Wish I saw this BEFORE buying new work pants for an upcoming interview 🤣🤣🤣. But now I can repurpose all of them lol. I think for the pants I am hesitant to try the hairtie. But I think inserting some kind of elastic gusset on the sides could be cute. I might attempt that and see what happens lol
Love your creativity. I'm glad I found this channel. I cannot sew on a sewing machine. I couldn't find a UA-cam videos that shows a no sew hem of blazer sleeves. Can you please create one. Thank you
