Heck yeah they are! I flip/sell them, so that I'm always upgrading slowly over time. Plus, I don't mind one bit buying used plates as long as they're in good shape. The Paiste's, I bought a 2002 pack, sold the 18 and 20", made most all my money back, and kept the hats and the 22" ride. So, I basically got the hats and ride for a major discount from piecing out the other plates to students. I started with only 400$, bro! Lol! It took me about 9 or 10 years, but I turned a 400$ initial investment into about 40,000$! But, you're totally right! Thats why I love Reverb, cause I can haggle with sellers, and find used highly sought-after cymbals for half price. Thanks for watching and the comment! Take care, bro!
...Paiste's are *way* overpriced! European. Sabian is my jam! Great timbre, and cheaper than most anyone else. Zildjian and Sabian are what I mostly play. I like dark and Turkish cymbals. Paiste's are bright, loud, and high-pitched. I use them mostly for crashes.

@@blakenunndrums yeah I play Sabians but they gotten very expensive! I’m considering switching to Istanbul agop cymbals and trying out there xist series and traditional dark and jazz series cymbals!

@mdmusic2874 EVERY manufacturer has gone way up. Lack of materials, shipping delays, etc. I got a special word from my friend Ed at Drum Flip that all imported and Turkish cymbals were going to up by 25-50% in the next couple of months (this was like 8 months ago). So, I stocked up on ANYTHING I could get my hands on before the price increases came. I'm glad I did, because now stuff I paid a couple hundred bucks for is worth 400-500/cymbal! My handmade Turkish K Constantinoples went from 450/500ish a piece to 900$/a piece. I don't care about brand names or models or matching logos or anything like that. I'm ALL about sound! Then, I go after the highly collectible and expensive boutique plates every one in a while, too. Just got a 21" Groove ride, a 22" HHX complex thin, and a formula 602 modern essentials. I make a lot of money from flipping cymbals. It's basically my entire side hustle! Lol

@mdmusic2874 I have the original Mel Lewis Istanbul AGOPS, *signed* by Mel, from 1982! ;) My mentor, Russell Bizzett (hall of fame drummer, played in Deep Purple and with Tommy Bolin) gave them to me, and he had them since they originally came out, when he used to be in New York, and he had Mel sign them under the bells. I'll never get rid of them! He did the same thing with a Supernaturals Divine 22" ride he gave me too. If you're looking for good sounding cymbals at cheaper prices (not sure what genres you mostly play tho), Dream Bliss is a great line, Burne makes some good stuff, and then Saluda and Turkish (that's the brand name) are all good options. You can get the one guy who makes everything at Supernaturals cut you a deal, he makes them all custom, and they're only a couple hundred to a few hundred bucks.
