- Not a cutting board this time, but a serving plate made in beech wood with wenge and padauk inlay. The design is made in Vectric Vcarve and you can download all the files with the link below. WARNING: do not use "as is", you must adapt the feeds and speeds to your own CNC and bits. If you cut too aggressively you can damage your machine or even get hurt. Feel free to modify and use as you wish! But do not use commercially as the SVG's licence does not allow it (you must purchase it).
The original SVG was downloaded here: lovesvg.com/pr...

I try to answer all the questions in the comments.
Great work! Thank you for putting the bits on screen as you used them. Super helpful for beginners like me lol
8:53 Owner of a wonderful plate :)
Salut Stephan! ca me fait plaisir de revoir tes créations! merci :)
Beautiful piece of work
That looks good. Will try it on my cnc router 👍
Loved the kitty picture!
Hi Stefan, Thank you very much for sharing and explanations ..
it's not taken for granted.
I also have Vatrick and I am interested in making such a dish but I did not find the plan ..
Hello. The VCarve file link is in the video description. It is: www.dropbox.com/s/dl/ahhp8by5...
@@stephanforseilles Thanks...
I tried he writes me error 404
Awesome work my fellow woodworker!
Next video can you show your clamping process?
Super Stéphan. Beau travail
Very very nice!!!! Thank for sharing
Wow, beautiful work and amazing wood choice. What kind of wood is that?
And, after all that work in cutting and design, how much would you sell the plate for?
Hello. It's beech and Iroko if I remember well. I didn't sell the plate, it's in my cupboard, used for cheese cubes. ;)
Spectacular. What kind of hard wood are those?
Thanks! If I remember well that's beech and Iroko.
Super good 👋👋👍🇳🇱
Greats from Holland
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us and have on this way the possibility to be a part of of it. But I have two questions. Do I have to slow down the speed for minimise the risk of tear out? Or can I use the normal speed of the used router? And secondly, is it better to make first the cut with the v-bit and then with the other bits for minimise tear out? It would also be nice to get the information what feed rate. etc. you use for having an example what is possible with your new maschine. (And this is a great one, I use the smaller version HobbyLine)
If you have the correct rotation speed, slowing down the feed should not make a difference except potentially create burning. As for "V-bit first" or "Flat bit first"... well I've tried both and I couldn't see a difference as long as the bits are sharp. :) Typical feed/speed for the 1/8th flat would be 5mm-750mm/sec and for the V-bit 7mm-1000mm/sec for my machine.
Is this finish suitable for a plate that will be used for eating and washed?
Hello it's ok of you wash it with soap and hot water. Not in the dishwasher. It's mineral food-grade oil.
Beau et bon travail. Merci
Do you set 'Corner Sharpen' for your Vcarve clearance tools? I assume the final pass has this built in but I didn't check it on the clearance paths and my plug ended up with dog bones
No, I never use it. I use flat tools for clearing and I let the corner sharpening duties for the final V-bit.
Beautiful. Do you have any links for where to get my hands on the 6mm 10 degree bits?
Sure. ;) www.aliexpress.com/item/33034695014.html
Thanks for the nice comment.
Great job!
Great videos
What type of finish did you use?
Thanks
Thanks. It's mineral oil and cutting board wax. I didn't want to use any non-food-safe stuff.
Magnifique
magnifique !
Awesome cut. What does 6mm 2+2 mean? Do you have a link to the bit? Thanks!
Thanks! It has 2 "normal" flutes and 2 "sawthooth" flutes. It is very agressive: www.cncfraises.fr/fraises-carbures-4-dents-ebauche-bois-evo-queue-6-mm/371-fraise-4-dents-ebauche-bois-diametre-de-coupe-6-mm-longueur-utile-25-mm-queue-6-mm.html
@@stephanforseilles wow it does look agressive. Never seen anything like it here in the US. Thanks for the info.
Beautiful work! Working my way up to that level. Still learning a lot. With those finishes you used is it food safe?
Thanks! Yes, it's food safe mineral oil and food safe butcher block wax.

C'est clean ! comme d'hab !
What do you use to finish the wood? It looks great.
Just butcher block oil and wax. But fine sanding!
Superbe !
