I have fished with that rod and the all silver reel and the only problem was the line and after putting new line on the rod and reel performed admirably for what it is
@@DoganGT You should the line that comes on it is sub par and I put 4 pound flourocarbon on it and it casts fine now. The actual issue is the rod eyes are to small but they have to be to fit in the pen lid.
That needs a good 3lbs line would be great for the size. The factory line I don't like it even on good combos. Nothing like new line. 😮 Nice looking pole 🎣
If you want it just for the slightly smaller size then maybe get the silvery one. But honestly if you want it to last and work properly, the Kastking(not a sponsor) Centron ice fishing reel is a good budget option for small reels.

Yeah the line it comes with is really bad. 4lb and below is a good choice for new line. The combos aren't built to last though. Quality is pretty bad.
I had one with the Plastic reel it wasn't good Plastic was shaving off now I'm thinking about the other one should i get it?

That heavy line that came with the reel was giving you a nightmare to cast.
Love having to tension the line with one hand after every cast 👌

They aren't standard reels so idk. But they are smaller than size 500 reels.
Can you replace the reels with a small spinning reel? Im trying to find reel replacements to make this rod work as smooth as possible
@bonnie062 Unfortunately not. I wanted to do that too. But the slots don't fit a standard reel.
