- Follow along as Tom and Matt walk the player through the old Harland and Wolff shipyard of Belfast, Northern Ireland (now the Titanic Quarter), along the route of our project's Demo 3. Get a behind the scenes look at what went into the Demo, what was accurate, and what has changed since then.

It's actually super inspiring and cool to see others around my age this interested and dedicated to history. You guys are awesome.
This game is going to be absolutely incredible when released - that's my prediction. Also that you guys will officially get the record for hours of lost sleep per player, however that is recorded, since we will all be hooked.
Just need to convince more folks under 35 to take trips on QM2 so I don't feel so out of place when I eventually have enough money for a trip :X

Your videos are better than any Titanic documentary I've ever seen. Your real time commentaries are especially great. You've done Titanic and Britannic. Any thought of doing the events on Carpathia from the initial distress calls up to and during the rescue?

True enough. :) However, if they're going to do videos and podcasts anyway, that's one I'd like to see at least.
I think the videos serve as a byproduct of their research and a tappable resource in-production as well as some cool stuff for us; to do some video of the carpathia would be awesome... I can't deny that, I've included a cool link below that's worth a watch.
What I'd really like to see is paid DLC created... so many things they could do. I mean I want to know about the Carpathia as much as the next chappy, but I'd rather let them get on with what they must do.

They will add at least a part of it. But I think they will add all of it because it is H&G
I guess much depends on whether or not they are already planning on modelling the Carpathia for the game. I don't know if the game goes all the way up to the rescue, but if it does, then using a podcast to show off the new Carpathia model would be a win-win.
I've seen that link before. It's very haunting. There's so much more that happened on the Carpathia. I'd like to think I know everything that happened on Carpathia that night, having read so many Titanic books, but one thing these HG folks have shown me is that there's still plenty I don't know.
Quite interesting to see how much that area has changed and been built up since 1912, Belfast is definitely one of the top places I would love to visit.

I've been there and seen it a couple of times, since I live in Ireland and it's only a couple of hours away on the train. I love having photos of it on my phone, and seeing it in James Cameron's movie too :P

The changes between game and reality in this video make it so that you can’t even tell what is and isn’t real anymore.
Such a stark contrast seeing the beautiful 1912-era buildings still standing there but right next to the most fugly modern architeture aberrations ever which probably replaced much better looking buildings.

The work you guys have done on this is incredible and magnificent. I've studied TITANIC's history since the '70's, and this will truly be one of the most important and significant things to come out for anybody who is a "TITANIC buff". I encourage everybody to support you in any way they can (I can't financially because of debt, but I can assure you that when this comes out, I will gladly pay whatever the price will be for a copy).
In Last year 2017 i went to Ireland and northireand, I went to Belfast and I love it the Museum,the Paintball and the esthetic at the harbour, but I get a little bit shocked of the broken city

2 Questions
1: any chance you could make an RMS Olympic virtual tour?
2. Any chance you could make a real time video of RMS Olympic colliding with either the HMS Hawke, and or the Nantucket lightship, and or a real time video of RMS Lusitania's sinking?
They probably won't make a real time lusitania sinking, for that they would have to make an entirely new model. They did Britannic because they used the pre existing titanic model and slightly modified it to look like britannic
I can dream it will happen one day though.......
We want to do Lusitania, but it’s a bit too much of a deviation from the game to do at the moment.

With regards to the NCC locomotive, it’s a London Midland & Scottish Railway Johnson 3F locomotive built in 1928. She does look the part in the demo, I have to say though

The train NCC stands for Northern Counties Committee which was owned by the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company, in England.
Are there awards for video games? If there are, I hope Titanic: Honor and Glory gets an award for historical accuracy, if there even is one...
This just keeps getting better and better! -- And by the way I don't see Robin as unlucky, just anxious to get on with the sea trials and coming a day early gives him a chance to pre-evaluate. Likely due to a suggestion from Claire........ (she is quite the forward thinker you know).... And after all, more familiarity with the ship will make him more cognizant of what needs to be double checked during her sea trials This is just - wow. Please please port H&G to Mac (Please) :-)
The engine works at 2:20 survived until the early 2000s. There is a video elsewhere on youtube of the building being ripped down by an excavator. One of the saddest videos to watch.

The locals in Belfast in 1912 would most often have spoken a dialect of the Scots language. The word for a cold wind with a little rain is " smirr ". On the 1st of April 1912 it would have likely been quite cold and as they say " driech " or gray and damp.
I'm buying this game but not because its titanic. But because its made by a team that put their heart and soul into perfection to relive a great part of history.

my grandfather was a bell boy on the Olympic where he started his carer sadly as we did not visit him that much he was a bit of a loner never got to hear his stories mostly get them from my mother he was also on the Maretania and his favourite ship The Queen Mary

I think the "MP" Easter Egg is a reference to the conspiracy theory documentary (about the supposed Titanic-Olympic switch) where there was a photoshopped picture of the wreck where allegedly the riveted on Titanic nameplate rusted off revealing the M and P of the "true ship, the Olympic"

For your upcoming Q&A:
Will the final game allow some form of toggle or launch option between the VR and non-VR versions of the game?
I ask because it seems that attempting to start the non-VR version of Demo 3 automatically starts up my VR software in the background, and it's a bit of a hassle attempting to close out of it unless I uninstall the VR version of the demo altogether.

Such a great walk-through. I am consistently so impressed with the research put into this project - boy, does it show! I did notice that the cobblestones are thinner & rectangular in real life, but your simulation has fatter, square-like stones. Such a small detail, but want to make sure everything is AS close to historically accurate as possible! Will you remove your "creative license" in the final game and stop the tram where it actually stopped, to keep things historically accurate?

eivoMSeb, as far as I understand it's a fan made game being produced independently of major game studios and is largely crowd funded, plus they want to get every detail as historically accurate as possible. So, it will take a while to get ready to release. There is a playable demo already available.
I wonder if the seagulls in the video are direct descendants of seagulls that saw the Titanic in 1912 or of different bloodline.

You are on a public road so you can film there. You can't film on the private land behind the fence. The threatening signs located there are there to scare.

As you can see there is only 3 or 4 lifeboats per side So obviously its smaller than the titanic

Tom & team, if you’d like a dedicated subtitle transcriber for your videos, and/or game, I’d be happy to help out. Grammar and correctness are kinda my thing, and I’m part of the same generation of young people who developed an affinity for the Titanic and history as yourselves from a young age.
Also it would prevent subtitling accidents like this from happening again... lol!
