The best podcast mixed I’ve ever owned, period!!!! You can add sounds on the board, record podcasts without using a computer or phone, play audio from your smartphone and more. If you want to elevate your podcasts this really is the mixer studio to get and is worth every penny I paid for it. I’m also not getting paid to speak on it, but I will say Check it out for yourself. Had mine since June of last year and I highly recommend it!!!
Is it possible to do voice effects like the GoXLR? Cheers!
Do u think its good for pre recording a radio show
I don’t know what your special-needs would be with that radio show, but I use this Mixer to record my morning podcast 20 times per month. It works great.
I'm using logic now to pre record my radio show and its a pain I need something easier I need to play music do drops etc
@@HypeCityShow I record my radio show remotely from my home studio (Savannah on Film/UA-cam) through the RODECasterPro. This unit has elevated my workflow!
Thanks for doing the video. Just bought mine and anxiously awaiting delivery. You are right, it is sooo much more than a podcasting rig.
What a great review for those of us looking for this equipment. Thanks likes and subbed have a solid day man.
An awesome video as per usual, Andrew. 😁 👌
Cheers! 🍻
I ordered the RODECaster Pro last week. It's been on back-order and should be shipping out next week. I'm looking forward to using it based on yours and many other reviews about it. Thanks!
Useful video 🔥👍🏽 good job bro
$600 !! Whoa ! That's more than I was expecting !
Yeah thats for average person lmao
$494 now!
Great video thanks for the info!
Great review. Thanks
Do you have a cloud lifter between your mic and rodecaster? Cuz I’m thinking of getting the shure sm7b and don’t know if i will need a cloud lifter between my mic and rodecaster. Btw great video man! Keep it up :)
A game changer! I bought one a month ago. I also use this for voice-over recordings, the post-production it needs is minimal.
Is it really that good for voice over?
Thank you for your review.
Please do share more videos/tutorials on using this device. I'm considering buying it. Thank you for this video!
Great video, I'm in the market for a mixer and came across this. I am currently using a Scarlett 18i8, but my issue is that when I looked into streamlabs OBS, I couldn't use any microphone other than input 1 on the audio interface. Pretty weird, then I started looking at mixers to turn all of my inputs into 1 single channel for OBS that way I can live stream my podcast. Definitely appreciate you for making this!
I bought one of these in December 2018 and go it in February 2019, and I have loved it. I paired with every mic in my locker, including the PodMic. However I have just a question, why at the 2:50 mark do you have phantom power on for a dynamic microphone? Are you using a CL-1 or a Fethead? If not then there is no need for the phantom power to be on.
Great video bud! Thanks! tell me, what advice would you give to someone who is trying to start a podcast plus also planning to DJ. Between the RODECaster Pro and a DJ Controller, which one can handle both tasks perfectly.
Just picked this bad boy up. I decided one night at 3AM I’m starting a podcast. Looked into equipment for the long run, this was recommended. Some shure mics, a new computer, and this and I’m not down more $ then I can afford. This really is the best option for beginners even. Can’t wait to start using it.
Great review. Is there a setting to pull sound from your computer to play clips? And i'm assuming since there is a connection to OBS you can select stream live. Thanks Much...
I use this for professional news broadcasting. It is fabulous
It’s a awesome mixer!!
I have my for about a month now and I wouldn’t trade it for anything..
What had happened is I was reaching some microphones for my Zoom h5 and I saw the cool mixer and that caught my attention,so I research the Rode Caster Pro for 2month and I decided to get it with a few Microphones.
The Shure sm7B and a cloudlifter. .
The Warm Audio wa87
2- NTG1 and a few more mics..
The shure SM7B with the cloudlifter toke me to the Ultimate next level of podcasting..
My Podcast show should be up and running soon...
Ps. It toke me 10mins to setup when I open the box and plugin the Shure sm7B with the cloudlifter put the micro xD card in and I was recording broadcasting quality at home mind you
Does the cloud lifter help a lot? I’m using the rose caster with a rode nt1 and my audio is quiet
That was a great video.
does the sound board work while streaming? Because i do plan on getting this and been getting a lot of positive reviews. But I am more on game streaming, though podcast is coming into mind for quite sometime. Really curious if the sound board works while streaming.
I'm running OBS Studio 27.1.3 on Windows 11 and have a Rodecaster Pro mixer (by this suggestion-thanks btw) I use Zoom and had followed your NDI tutorial for connecting audio and video. Is NDI still necessary with this setup? Just curious. Thanks again for all your clear tutorials
I purchased the RodeCaster Pro a few weeks ago after several failed mixers. We own a music studio with high end mixers for music but I tried that route with too much complication. This system really helped with the many conference calls that i'm on all day. (My real job is Cyber Security for one of the largest banks in the USA). I record my calls on OBS and connect my phone via Bluetooth. I use two different Mics depending on the day. one dynamic one condenser. I love the RodeCaster Pro. I probably should have waited and got the version 2 but needed it now. My only complaint is that I wish I had the ability to use voice changers. Not for work but for fun... (scam baiting) I havent seen a good way to do this as of yet live. I thought about a double hookup one going into the voice changer then into the mic input but that doesnt' work well with the needed voltage for the mic. It would be easy for Rode to add some built in's via software. Also with i could make the bottom two sound effect buttons a page left and a page right then only have 6 per page sound effects. I hate using the screen to page to different effects.
Thanks for the demo. Question…does a mixer like this make sense for someone who doesn’t do live streaming and just creates UA-cam content (like tutorials)? I do most of my audio edits in post production. Just wondering if this has value to someone like myself who’s editing with Adobe premier pro and OBS currently…..feedback appreciated. 👍👍
Will this RodeCaster go well with Rode Nt2-a mic? or do you highly prefere to use a dynamic mic?
Quick question.
Does it support phantom power?
I recently got a dbx 86s and a stellar X2 mic. I love the way the set up sounded then I realized I was bypassing all the processing on the dbx so now I wonder do I really need a dbx?
Do you recommend this for voice over work and the Procaster mic?
Soo post editing a podcast is even easier because of this mixer ? Love the sound!!! I am looking to start a podcast and this video really sold me on the Rodecaster Pro !!! Thanks !!!
Hey! Do you think this would work for being able to teach fitness classes using a mic and also music? I like to have the music pretty loud but still need mic and speaking voice clear and loud? Need 2 inputs and output to speaker + usb to feed into computer? Would be keen to know your thoughts!
Okay, I guess this is the thing, I need/want. Sure, Behringer has nice mixers, but this seems far better. Looks more stylish and sounds awesome (even without the processing) - has everything I need for my Livestream-Setup.
Also, additional XLR Inputs if I have more people and the built-in recording.
Another question I got is, can it obtain sounds through USB or just via Headphonejack?
Like, am I able to use it like the GoXLR or is it just for recording?
How would you rate it compared to the GoXLR (if you've tried)? The Rodecaster is like 755$ here, so I'm trying to find out if it's SUPERworth
It’s sounds really good and definitely something I need. I hear some pops and with my voice really popping a lot a good pop filter is all that is missing but I definitely love the video, I am SO done with my shitty Blue Yeti
Sounds great but definitely peaking my iPad Air speakers i had to turn you down a little.. Very tempted, i have an fm frequency, would it be too amature for fm?
awesome review bro! i'm just wondering if i intend on livestreaming say warzone, do i plug my headphones into the podcaster pro or the computer?
Plug into the rodecaster as long as your connected to your computer through usb you will be able to hear the audio through the rodecaster
saw another video for the GoXLR and didn't like it because it required an app to run for it to work. You didn't mention this but I wanted to know if this mixer requires the same thing to be done?
What is going on family, new subscriber Cribbs here ✌🏼Mine will be here tomorrow and I am pairing it with the Podmic. Thanks for the video.
I noticed there is no Windows drivers for the Roadcaster Pro for Win 10. I want to mix a mic and sound effects to be played while gaming at the same time, so I need to be able to chose the Roadcaster as a MIC input in Widows. Isn't drivers needed to do this? Thanks.
Thanks for the great review! Are you using a Cloudlifter or some other inline boosting device that requires phantom power? If not, I am wondering why you are engaging 48v phantom power to a Rode Procaster which is a dynamic mic not meant for phantom power?
I use a Rodecaster Pro and love it. The 2.1 software update put it way over the top as the best mixer of its type for the money!
I wondered the same thing. I mean it wont hurt the mic. but its not needed. The preamps have more than enough gain for that mic
Is it possible to bypass the filters while recording or record dry and do the processing after finishing the recording??
And is there is new version of rodecaster pro coming soon?
Would I be able to plug my guitar into this with shure mics lastly does this offer sound effects? Other then that you sold me on it :)
does the rodecaster pro mixer driver can be detected by MB Recaster or BUTT broadcast encoder for radio streaming purposes?
Hey guys, if I need to use a musical instrument like a guitar that uses 1/4 input, how would you connect to the rodecaster since it only has XLR inputs in the back? any adapters to recommmend?
Is it possible to replace a FiiO E10K Olympus 2 DAC for my Sennheiser HD 660S with this while at the same time having the XLR connections for a proper Mic? I would like to use it to sent the XLR Mic signal to my PC (for usage in OBS, TS3, Discord, MS Teams, ...) and at the same time output my PC Audio to my Headphones ftom this device.
Is it possible to connect 2 Computers to the Rodecaster pro, I plan on going to a 2 PC Livestreaming setup eventually and I am looking at this mixer currently but I need to know if this device is capable of connecting to 2 computers or do I need to add another mixer to be able to connect 2 computers?
Can I loop parts of the audio with this when I live stream (eg. from 1 or 2 mics) ? How about effects like reverb? I am looking at creating music for live streaming together with voice (meditations) and I'm researching all the tech. I had simple yeti blue mic plugged to my phone, that worked, ofc not best for contol but good enough for entry... But that got stolen, together with my 6 singing bowls, cry... :( so as I'm now again at the purchasing point. Many thanks!
In just bought one of these second hand, i noticed in your video the digital vu meter is green then yellow, did rode change it to all green after anfirmware update or something. Mine only ever show green.
Can you use the RODECASTER PRO along with the GO XLR at the same time. I love the sound quality and the multiple XLR ports of the RODECASTER PRO but I love the audio routing and the one the fly sampling of the GO XLR.
why do you have phantom power on for the Procaster? Isn't that a dynamic mic?
How does having an Amp/Dac combo for headphones PLUS a 2 pc setup for streaming effect using this device?
How does it compare with the Universal Audio Arrow?
Thanks for the demo! Whats about "Rode Rodecaster Pro II"
Will this work on an M1 Mac Mini and while streaming via OBS? I stream my gaming on OBS. Also, will I be able to connect my PS4, Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless headset and capture card to it for stream? I wanna be able to hear all sound alerts and what my audience is hearing in my headset. That is one of the main reason why I wanna get a mixer.
Q - So I was wondering if something like this would be possible. I have a GOXLR for streaming, only downside was only 1 XLR mic input. Is there a way to maybe combine the GOXLR with Rodecaster Pro perhaps? I would just like to have the ability to adjust both mic levels/settings separately and still have access to GOXLR features like voice changer and the audio routing. I heard it might be possible if the Rodecaster has a Line Out connection, but I haven't seen one on the specs... Please let me know if combining the two devices would be possible and how, Thank You!!
Could you make a video with whole set up for streaming using the RØDE caster pro.
Yeh. You'd think that given the title, it would cover that...probably the most important part
I am curious about something, can you monitor your voice in real time using this mixer?
Can you connect this to samsung s20 ultra as and external mic? I want to use my phone for video live streaming. Would the audio work from the usb c?
I got my Rodecaster and Procaster Mic on Wednesday, this is an amazing machine!. Q. Do you need the phantom power on though with the microphone being a dynamic mic? I don't have mine on and the levels set at 42.
You do not need phantom power. That was a mistake in the video.
@@awalldigital Ah right!😊👍🏻 It makes sense now, I really think it's the best investment ever.
Would this mixer also work to control audio channels while editing video?
I tired recording a song using this thing but the vocals doesnt have reverb just a clear ang pure volas i get. Any setting reomendation you can give?
What about the TC-Helicon GO XLR , have you tryed it ?
Can you use this for Internet Radio, can you use another platform on your computer to play music through the Podcaster
I know this is a little older of a video so I hope you're still seeing these comments...but is there a specific video you could point me to for getting console game audio AND computer audio AND blu tooth audio through the rodecaster and into SLOBS? And maybe what settings? I'm trying to piece together so much information to make it work and THINK its possible...just struggling. Thank you!
Great video, I have ordered my one 2 weeks ago in Sydney Australia, still waiting to arrive, not sure how long I will have to wait in this current situation :(
Worth the wait
How do you program the noises with the buttons?
Whenever I stream I listen to both game audio and my voice thru my headphones connected to Rodecaster pro. However after long periods of times the game audio sort of overwhelms me, so I lower it down, however by doing this it also lowers the game audio on my stream. Is there a way to prevent this? I would like to keep the game audio on my stream to stay the same, and be able to adjusted on Rodecaster pro so I can listen to it at a lower volume? I'm also using OBS studio.
Can you oprate a gaming surround headset with it? (SteelSeries Arctis Pro)
how can i pari out 2 different bluetooth speakers?
i.e i want that the sound from the device to be sent to 2 different bluetooth speakers.. help me if u know how this works.. My bluetooth speaker is the mini jbl and another bluetooth speaker.. would be nice to signal sounds to different areas of the house party.. thx
Is it easy to setup a dual pc option? I had problems with my MAudio and the software and drivers make it sound like shit.
Thanks for the video! Quick question: for dynamic microphones, would you still use a cloudlifter before hitting the preamps of the unit?
I would
The CasterPros inputs have an EIN of -125dBA, so while a cloudlifter would improve the noisefloor by some amount, its not absolutly neccessary.
Is it possible to connect the audio mixer with an e piano and play it live in a stream on twitch ?
Will OBS studio be able to communicate with this mixer?
I like that!
it is possible to connect my rode nt usb mic as a mic source from usb input of Rodcaster?
Does it capture audio from the new XSX and PS5?
How can i possibly use my RODE NT USB mic to RODECASTER PRO?
As of June 2020 this item is no longer available on Amazon. Any other suggestion?
Greetings friend, I really liked the explanation you give in this video, your channel is very good and also very Professional, tell me something please, can I use this console with my Samsung S10 cell phone to make videos on UA-cam? I mean, the cell phone would use it as a camera and the console as audio, what is not how to unite the two things, audio and video? Greetings and I hope you answer me, thank you.
How would you compare to GoXLR?
does this have a video camera switcher built in?
how much does it cost? Its currently unavailable, i'd really want to know how much i need to buy it!
Is it any good for Voice over work?
Hello Awall, appreciate this review... Will this mixer handle instruments as well..? Thanks..! New Subscriber... 👍🍻
It’s not really designed for instruments. Can it handle them? Yes. It’s designed for a vocal microphones and PHONE, and external input such as music or calls.
Does Rode have an audio and video unit? That would be awesome.
brother, how do you sync the sound with the video? noobie here so please be kind :)
is it good with the shure sm7b?
Can it be connected to a console, like a PS4/PS5?
Can it eotk with Shure sm7b as well?
I know you probably won’t see this but is there any possible way you can do a video guide on how to set up the goxlr and maybe list the best kind of headsets to use for it?!
What was your process connecting the Rodecaster Pro with the video. How did you marry them.
this is actually missing a vital option for me that the GOXLR has, faders for different functions one for consoles, one for individual music tabs..wish I could get all that control, asked rode themselves and they said they dont have any of those features - bummer.
is this better then the GOXLR?
Does this mixer can used by mac?
Do you a link to that 'WindScreen'? GREAT Video!
Right here amigo: amzn.to/3e1HnHi
Can you use the Rodecaster to output directly into two DSLR cameras...a A roll and B roll camera...so you don't have to sync audio in post ? What is your opinion?
did this work?
Can you play the recording back through the mixer as if you are doing a podcast here is what ????? told us earlier?
Just picked one of these guys up and having issues with OBS. Could you do an OBS + Rodecaster Setup video? Running into all sorts of oddities. Thanks!
I will do that, great idea!
@@awalldigital Thanks! Love this piece of gear, but I'm sure some are out there like me, needing a tiny bit "more" to the best setup in OBS. Thanks @Awall
This is cool! Stimulus check needs to roll through 🤑
Thanks for the mixer Donald!!!
Does each input show up separately in OBS? That is my only hold-up on buying it. I already have the Rode PodMic and really want that built in processing specially for it.
As we discussed on Twitter, you can do multi track recording through the SD card, but no multi track recording with an open broadcaster software.
Are you sure? There are instructions on Rodes site for setting up multitrack recording in different OBS, I have set mine up in Audacity and it works great.
How is this vs the goxlr?
