    But if you increase the leaf springs capacity don't you have to upgrade the bearings to handle that much load??? I got a 2011 Nissan frontier the 4 cylinder model and I was wondering how much weight I can put in the back before damaging something. Say you stay on a flat private farm road so the GVW does not apply. 2000lb? or is that too much.

    Helper springs or sway bar for my 2011 GMC Canyon WT (2wd 2.9l engine)?? What would give me extra control while towing a 1300lb boat??

    Why would you want the bigger bolts in the center of the leaf spring when the load is being held by the ends of the spring

    How do you decipher the long in from the short end I measure it and it measures the same also how to adjust these the tighter it goes on the ends the more capacity

  • @kevintii

    You measured the spring stating they are longer on one side then the other, but you didn't specify which end went towards the front or back of the vehicle. Also, does this system need to be installed with the factory suspension unsprung as yours was, or can it be installed when the vehicle on sitting on the ground?

      Long side goes towards the back of the truck and the truck needs to be lifted so the load is off the stock leafs when you tighten the Hellwigs up.

      @@drewrhodes2820 Aren't they resting the axle on the jack stands in the video though?

  • @scottb4389
    @scottb4389 3 роки тому +1

    Are those stands under the axle? I thought you are supposed to install with the springs free of weight.

      I thought so too. I'm not convinced the heavier bolts are supossed to go in the center either. How is that the point that gets the most pressure?

      these guys are hacks, no surprise they would screw up an installation this simple.

    My instructions make no mention of where the long end goes. Sad that I had to go on UA-cam to find out.
