this video was so helpful!! i followed it all the way through and replaced my switch in 20 minutes!! As a 16 year old with no money it’s nice having tutorials on how to fix my older car. thank you so much
Bought my 09 Sonata in 2008 with 2 miles (have almost 200k now) on it. The driver side window button broke while in the drive through and this video enabled me to be a weekend mechanic. Thank you for easy to follow guide.
The second I saw the replacement panel was only 20 bucks on Amazon, I knew the fix had to be relatively clearcut. Thanks for the video! Helped me immensely!
How did you keep all the little screws straight and remember which went where? As well as the electrical connectors....seems there were 4. I would imagine you would have to be extremely careful to put everything back exactly the way it was! And furthermore, how do I know it is the power window switch and not the power window motor itself that is bad? I have a 2008 Hyundai Sonata.
Thank you so much for this!!! Your tutorial was very easy to fallow and i was able to do it with out bugging my husband or his brothers. In total i spent 38 dollars for the part, shipping an handling, and a basic tool kit.
Love the video. I replaced the master but I brought the front left and right window auto. Mine had the driver's window auto. Do you know how to reset the car to make this 2 auto windows work. I have disconnected battery for 72 hours and pulled fuses too. Can I reset this feature with a scan tool
Oh, so this is a common Sonata thing. BOO. I don't have this year, I have a 2013, but same problem. If it's not that much different then I know I don't need special equipment -- I'll look up how to do that one when I can get the part. I get that mechanics have to make a living too but we broke folks cannot afford that labor cost, haha.
I wish you'd skipped the triangular panel at the top right. Everything else went fine. But that stupid little panel won't go back on, and it broke when I tried.

Thanks for watching!
You breezed over “this other panel tool”. What tool is it please?
Check out the link in this video's description.
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
When something like this happens, do u have to replace it with a whole new thing or is there a way to fix the spring on the one thats broke?
Cheaper to replace the whole thing. Not too expensive on ebay
@@hardlymovingpro getting it for $15 on ebay, but can't we fix just that switch?
In SA it costs 400 doll and scrap yards are all sold out, how can we fix that spring?
Will this switch work for right hand drive as well?
Nope. Different design. But you should be able to get a right side replacement part. Procedure to replace should be pretty much the same.
Hello! Great video. What brand of electric screw driver are you using?
Thanks! It's a Milwaukee M12 3/8" electric ratcheting tool. I provided a link to the tool in this video's description.
@@hardlymovingpro Thank you!

Thanks! I believe the auto down feature is only available for just driver's side window.
Thank you for this :)

Todo el mando se debe cambiar? No puede ser solo el botón del problema? Ayudaa 😢
In English please.
Where can I purchase one of those? Mine is doing the same thing.
Try Ebay. That's where I got mine.
@@hardlymovingpro thank you.

Always try the switch before installing everything back just saying ☝️
Good point!

The replacement switch unit is relatively cheap. Check for part in Amazon or Ebay. Yes...do it yourself to save $$$
why not fixing the button itself ?? it's soo easy :(
The replacement unit was cheap.
How do you fix the button itself? Having similar issue
Bravo
Thanks!
I wish you'd skipped the triangular panel at the top right. Everything else went fine. But that stupid little panel won't go back on, and it broke when I tried.
I took it off at the 1 minute 30 second mark in the video. And I put it back on at the 5 minute mark.
I have a 2002 Hyundai sonata I am have the same problem I think because my window won't let up
Could also be a bad/worn window motor.
Wish mine was that easy I’ve tried all sorts of things and mines still not working
Could be your window regulator motor is shot.
On my 2004 ford the button panel pops up and is easily replaced. This is 50 screws!!!
Wow ... that's a lot!
Just wanna replace the single plastic button. Not the whole stupid thign
I know. No single replacement part available.
That’s stupid about of screws
It is what it is.
News flash for you there Gomer. Real men don't need gloves taking off a simple door panel!
Thanks for sharing! Whatever makes you feel comfortable!
News flash real man don't give a fuck what other men wear 😂
