Drawing in the Museum with Proko. Cesar Santos Special Collaboration
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 бер 2018
- As we visited the San Diego Museum of Art to analyze some master pieces (Link to last week collaboration with Proko: • Museum Tour with Proko... ), we decided to sit in front of John Singer Sargent's painting "JOHN ALFRED PARSONS MILLET" to draw it and study it. Copying the masters is a great exercise to find your own style. Some FUN surprise at the end!!!

This is better then watching TV these days.
I'm interested in what kind of paper you are using.
neptunusmaris no idea, Proko had them. They weren't that good though.
Cesar...what is the name of the tool with the blue handle used for spreading the charcoal?

Watching these two guys together is great
exactly!
Something about seeing two different artists look at the same painting and seeing how your drawings came out different was very freeing!!! ❤️❤️❤️ You guys are so inspiring. Thank u for always creating such great content!❤️
"freeing" indeed
30:54 - A lesson for artists to loosen up and avoid perfectionism. Two great artists have fairly different interpretations of the same thing.
Cesar and promo drawing together is like Bridgman and Loomis drawing together.
😂
Best art video I have ever seen. Thanks so much for the laughs. You are a great team. Sometimes artists are too serious.
That is completely lost concept here.
And that's how modern art was invented :D "you see the old master? Let's copy it blind!"
I totally love it, to see two great artists having fun :D
Cesar, I was cackling like a crow at the end. Hilarious. Great drawings too, not at the end though, ha ha. It's the craziest thing I've ever...not seen.
2 of my favorite UA-cam artists drawing together...I wish I would have been there to see it live!!
Very true
Cesar Santos is the Antonio Banderas of art. You can't change my mind.
Best collaboration. The use of two artist meeting, they can share their thoughts and knowledge with each other and this helps you a lot and they correct your mistakes
This was so much fun to watch I really liked Proko’s study with the lost and found edges on the face , I’m really glad you guys did a collab and I hope you do more in the near future!
Two perspectives with one goal... love it.
Love it! The blind drawing was the best! Keep having fun that’s an important part of the art too!
You two are my favourite artists on UA-cam, you are both super talented, and so funny and generous too... Keep up the good work guys, you bring smiles to many faces!
This was so fun to watch! Awesome to see two great artists work together. Loved it!!!
Both of these guys are amazing painters/ artists, it's great to see them together
I love those kind of videos. I keep them running while I'm drawing at home :) So please, do more of these kind of videos! Thank you!!!
This was so much fun to see! lol... that blind fold part, just hilarious. It is nice to see these guys not taking themselves too seriously. I really loved Cesar's sketch study of the girl, just beautiful as always.
Even your blindfolded drawings at the end showed great skill and draughtsmanship!!
another collaboration to love... you and Proko. fun fun fun. The blindfolded versions is hilarious.
Two artistic genius clowns. How wonderfully refreshing. You guys just rock.
I follow both of these guys. Different approaches, same love of the figure. Great to see them together.
How much fun Art is!! Love your blind drawing after your studies!
Extraordinario, de lo mejor que he visto. Felicidades a ambos.
Wow....great artists..
Best art video i have ever seen
Love watching you work. Very inspiring. That blindfold bit was a hoot.
two my favorite artist
proko and cesar santos
..im watching now :)
This is the best art lesson ever observed. To see contrasting styles and then have them suggest ideas together as they create.....then try those other styles and give feedback on their experiences...
Thank You
One of the best art videos I have ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing this experience. You two are such an inspiration.
I liked seeing the two different approaches, and their sort of ordered systems. I can literally see the ateliers they went to in their differing approaches.
Some training I received, when I was a child and teen, made me rely on blind contour and what I saw in my head while my eyes were shut, not just from observation; thus, I know for a fact it's possible to get a high degree of accuracy doing this.
Also, I wanted to say, it's not cheating to hold the page as some have said. Anything you can do to make sure you are in a correct position to go back to, is good. Having a building out point is probably the smartest, along with a timed stroke. There are of course more tricks, but eventually after a lot of practice, you will have a solid image in your mind and, again, I know for a fact you can get extremely accurate results.
here it is 3 am and I am watching paint dry...how sad am I? But I loved it, I felt like I was there with two of my saints absorbing everything, their words, their techniques, materials-everything. I can't wait to go to that museum, sit on that bench and pay my respects to them and Sargent. Thank You.
Strength. What a very important endeavor; towards the world around us. I’m glad to see it. Thank you gentlemen.
You guys are having toooo much fun. Love it.😂😂😂
I was laughing and crying. You guys are awesome!
2 of my favorite artists collaborating! 😊
Laugh out loud funny! I love both of you guys, but together you really take it up to a new level.
thanks so much for sharing this, Cesar was right, you allow yourself to be vulnerable, but the viewers benefit because they learn by watching it go from an amorphous beginning to eventually a realized drawing
I guess this visit to the museum was before the Pandemic, 3 years ago. Whao I haven't been able to go to the Phoenix museum since a little before the Pandemic. I miss it so much.... Watching you guys inspire me to go back to painting. I haven't painted for the past 4 weeks now. I was sick with bronchitis. Oy, I thought I had COVID, but a team of health workers came and tested me, it came negative, but Bronchitis was present. I have felt totally discouraged. You invited me in again. Your enthusiasm is catching, at least for me.
I enjoy your interaction and sharing of your passion. Great!!
I love proko videos and I discovered Cesar Santos through Andrew Tischler videos. My daughter turned me on to the proko videos a long time ago ,it’s so great to see them work together
Such an awesome video! You just don’t get any better teaching lessons than this! It was so nice that both of them retained such an atmosphere of camaraderie, no competition what so ever! Just pure artistic talent displayed by both of these wonderful artists! The thought of sitting in front of an original Sargent painting is so awesome! I need to go to New York or wherever they might be in a museum! Please do another one of these soon! Loved the “blindfolded “ drawing. What a hoot!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was an amazing video to watch! Thank you very much for sharing!
Two Masters of drawing, great.
That was amazing! You rock guys. ❤️
you two are AWESOME together!!...each with their own style... Santos' child looks more like the painting..Prokov's looks like the child a bit old..less full face.!!...excellent tutorial..thank you both for sharing!
Great stuff, especially the blind study. Wow, to see truly.
I asked earlier when it was and it’s now!! Thanks I have something cool to watch when I get home 👍
Great video both! nice to have something good to watch now back to painting and watching your figure drawing 📀
So cool to see you guys working together. Both of your videos are great
Never laughed so much.im going to try the blindfold. Wonderful stuff . made my day
Nice to share this moment of art and funny with us ..... i’ve laughed too much ... wish you the best both
The ending was hilarious! Great video.
Thoroughly enjoyable, thank you for sharing!
Nice that you two can get together for sketching, what a great thing. Not about competition, but developing bonds between friends and furthering your own artistic journey. I'm beginning to see a pattern in social media artists who have "seem" to fallen into the "he who gets the most LIKES wins". We are students, not disciples.
You should do a whole series of these with other artists. Drawing together in museums. Really interesting and useful!
Two of the three artists I follow religiously!
I'm grateful for your channel! Youre awesome !
Both amazing...love you guys man. very inspirational!
LOL, awesome. Ending was the best.
Thanks to you, i feel more confident to join a museum and draw there.

Jajaj la reacción de santos!!!ustedes son los mejores!!!!!
Yay you guys
when you think proko mess all up. he starts to do a great job.
Best video ever ))) Please do more studies!
4:20 (lul) a really good scenario of the 80/20 rule! like 80% of the drawing ( the background ) holds 20% of the information. or vise versa, 20% of the painting ( the subject ) holds 80% of the information. so interesting how composition relates so much to math and the patterns are everywhere!
I so wanna try that “spatula” drawing tool now 😂
