    Awesome! I can see how the art school in Florence has supported you in your journey but at the same time your own drive or should I say passion has been your best teacher. I like these little stories you are telling in connection with your art. Goes to show how much more there is to a painting or even a sketch.

    You made me so envious when you said about art school in Florence. I missed out on art school and it was a big mistake I feel. The art teacher wanted me to do art, saying you have a talent. I needed a job quickly when I left school, so art didn't seem like a good option. Anyway, 50 years on and I'm at an art class once a week. Better late than never as they say. I so enjoy your channel, and good luck with all that you do.

    We bought a few of your paintings in Trinidad de Cuba and are especially fond of the one painting on abuttoned t-shirt with a stunning blue hues ; moreover one syncretic painting combining the iconic hat of The Little Prince and Jose Marti,national poet of Cuba…
    Not surprised that you have achieved international status.

    I love applying paint & the entire process involved....but lately, ur videos on drawing/sketching have inspired me to not only return to the pencil but to actually value the experience equally to paint. I use to draw too fast & my results suffered. Holding the pencil from the far end first & only moving up closer to the point as its time to tighten details, has helped me to slow down & sharpen my focus, completely involved within the moment. Thank u Mr. Santos....u r the entire package: artist, teacher, philosopher, & most of all -a true fan of art. Oh!!! & rapper -ha,ha-entertainer. Keeping the fun in learning. Best of luck always.

    Great video as usual Cesar. I love hearing about your travels and education that brought you here. It inspires me to pursue a good fine art education to really learn and refine my skills. It's just hard nowadays to find art schools in America that havnt been defiled by abstract expressionism (not that it's an invalid art form, I just believe it can't be taught). If you or anyone might have recommendations for good fine art colleges in America, I'd love to hear them. Thank you!

  • @Dale_Blackburn
    @Dale_Blackburn 4 роки тому +1

    Hello Cesar, your figures and portrairs have this unique kind of realistic shading into them. It looks fuzzy and dotted. Is that because of the paper material of your sketchbooks or is it a tecnique? Can you please share how and with what pencils you can achieve this shading? Also what kind of paper are those sketchbooks made of? Thanks! I hope you can see this comment. It is really important to me.
