- Hi, my name is Penelope and friends call me Pen. This episode is a big thank you to you all for joining me in my last video and for all the wonderful messages you sent. I said it might be two to three weeks before you saw me but it's turned out to be one day! See you soon.
You actually need an empty apartment complex beside you...we all would love to be your neighbor! What a craft group we could have! Love your podcast...each and everyone!
I'll keep my eyes open for one!

Saved your video until I had a quiet hour or so to do some sock knitting, and you could keep me company. Loved the poem, and I know I'll listen to it a few more times yet. Then the out takes came and Pene the look on your face when Pete came in, absolutely hilarious. Tears in my eyes through laughter and I couldn't see to knit!

Today reminds me of London buses…I waited all week and then two together! Love the idea of watching how you make the crafting bag and as for the scarf who knew the ball of wool when knitted would look like that! I ask you who knew? I made a whole list of notes from episode 116 yesterday and expected to write a comment today and then - surprise! - episode 117 is here! Lovely! And now I have another whole list of notes to make comments. But I would bore you rigid. I did not realize it is Thank You Day but then I looked and that is in the UK. In the USA it is September 15. Oh, well, every day I am thankful for some things and not as thrilled about others. I am always thankful to you for your lovely vlogs. Thank you! I thought about the word serene. My first husband was an alcoholic so I always think of the "God grant me the serenity..." saying. Not sure I should have mentioned this. So glad you are doing the sleeves but I can see where a bright little sleeveless one for spring and summer would be handy. Tommy was adorable at Disneyland. He must be a marvel if he can remain cheerful such long (and for me they would be exhausting) days. All your grands are adorable. I am rambling. Back to work. I am making free gift tags (three to a pack) for my daughter to give with each sale. She has a business called PurplePincushion. It keeps me very busy. My favorite piece of writing is called Desiderata. It is well-known among us old hippies (my bunch) but not sure if it is known in the UK. Written by Max Ehrmann. Looking forward to your next episode. All the best to you and yours.
I did think about the serenity prayer too. Exhausting days for me too, much prefer peaceful days in nature! How lovely that you help your daughter with her business. Thank you for pointing me in the direction of Desiderata, some beautiful words written in 1927. My dad always loved If by Rudyard Kipling which is similar. Take care. btw I love your waffle!

I need to order some of those Acufactum fabrics by Daniela Drescher and also the ones from Sophia Drescher. So cute! Was so sorry you did not win the trip to Istanbul. What a hoot. The fabric on Pete's eyeglasses mat is so adorable. I'll try to find that one also. I know men like the poem "If" and it is a good one. All the best!

I absolutely loved the outtakes, they made me laugh out loud. My mother used to get cross with me when I was young because she said that people could “read my face like a book” if I didn’t like something, but I am clearly not the only one because your face was a picture 😂. When I found the notification that there was another post from Penelope already, I scurried for my knitting, all the while thinking how wonderful it would be to live in your vicinity. Now I see you are followed by thousands and your community cannot possibly absorb us all. Love thinking about serenity and laughed heartily at the outtakes, but when Pete called out to you in this episode my heart flew to my mouth and serenity was out the window. It sounded as if your house could be on fire! 🙃 Anyway, thank YOU for the joy and serenity you bring us. ❤❤❤

Sharon is right! Reserve an apartment for me! My husband and I spent our lunch with you today - it was such a pleasure. I will look forward to your “this is how I make it” video when you make Francis’ bag. The thimble fabric is perfect and it will be fun to see it all come together and hear you talk us through it. I so agree with Sharon that there should be an empty apartment complex next door to you so we could all meet for craft. I would just love that. We could knit or sew as you told us a story. I knew I wasn’t going back to bed until I watched your new episode and I was right, “pure joy” and fun again. Knitting away on my granddaughter Ashleigh Jewel’s scarf wrap she asked for (wear in evening after her wedding) you kept me company. Hi Janet, You can go to Curious Handmade which is Helen Stewarts site which takes you to Ravelry or go straight to Ravelry. It's the Sunset Skies shawl. I knit mine from 4ply, Sock yarn is fine if that's what you have. You need 90gms of the main colour and then a few oddments to make the stripes. It's a lovely knit as is the Silver River Shawl. I wear both of those more than anything else.
