Why they demand same 221 twice i am confused..

July 2018, I sent an email at the US Embassy notifying them that it might take longer time that what we have expected since he got married at the Dominican Republic. My wife had an IV interview at the US embassy jordan in January 2023. The consular officer verbally approved her IR1 visa. The next day she was put into 221g and given a form with 10 questions. Questions were similar to form DS 5535. Are you able to pin point the reason?
It is difficult to determine the exact reason a 221g was issued (usually related to some form of document related issue). If your wife is working with an assigned Case Manager, she can reach out to them for more details.
I was given 221g in nov 2020 and after few days of interview they asked more documents loke photos chat etc I submitted those on 13 fab then after till date my case updated 3 times but status still refused .
From what we have seen and heard from our applicants who have received a 221g, as long as they followed the instructions on the 221g, they received approval upon submitting the requested items. Please double-check and make sure you provided all requested documentation that was requested in your 221g. We have seen it takes some time to process the 221g.

Refusal under section 221(g) means that essential information is missing from an application or that an application requires additional administrative processing. It is not denied, but it is refused until until you provide the corrected documents being requested.

Helo sir , I wish I have listened to this presentation before I went for my Interview after I was given a 221g paper when I submitted my Passport for renewal. I got the first visa with my family in 2016 after which my wife divorced me and got the custodian of the kids ever ever since they have been staying in the US. However when my visa expired I renewed in 2018 and i got it , I have travelled four times, COVID 19 lock down in 2020 denied me of travelling in the year. thus the visa expired. Recently in February it was announced that we can submit for Interview waiver if your visa expired within 24months.I did and was given 221g paper , when I went for the interview , I was asked about my kids though denied but was later confirmed so I was finally refused the visa . and given a 214 blue paper. Please what can I do I need to get my visa again, I havent seen my children in the last 3years.

Hi there, my interview was March 25th and I was told my NIE had to be approved by VO's manager but it shouldn't be a problem as he thought I qualify for both visa and NIE - I would get my passport back in 7 days. No update and then yesterday my case moved from "Refused 221g" to "Administrative Processing". I was wondering if you had insight on the what the new AP status after 221g truly means? Thanks!
"Administrative processing" is a generic phrase and can be used to cover multiple situations including: waiting for security clearances, an investigation of either your credentials or information supplied by your petitioner or others. There is no good timeframe for a resolution. Some are resolved within a few days while others may take months. You can have your petitioner follow-up after 30 days.
Interview my wife in manila was refused. Ask for more documents .sent in as requested again received request for more documents sent back as requested in May 2021 to this day no feed back. Hello, Wesley. You will need to continue waiting for their response. Administrative processing can take as long as the government wants. There is nothing to worry about because the documents are in process and being authenticated, but you will have to wait. It is definitely taking longer due to COVID because staffing is still scarce.

Hi Sir, My wife (H4) got 221g based on travel President proclamation 10199 on June 14th 2021 in one of the consulates in India. The visa application status is Refused since that day. Now we got a new appointment for H4 in a third country. Is it necessary to withdraw the previous H4 application before attending the new appointment? And on contrary, what could happen if we don't withdraw the previous one?

I was refused under Administrative Processing because I paid the Immigration lawyer and USCIS fees. The job offer that I showed during the interview states that my employer will reimburse all the expenses I paid, and yet the consul placed me on 221g. Is it illegal to shoulder all the expenses? Do you think there’s a legal basis for the denial?

Hi there, my interview was March 25th and I was told my NIE had to be approved by VO's manager but it shouldn't be a problem as he thought I qualify for both visa and NIE - I would get my passport back in 7 days. No update and then yesterday my case moved from "Refused 221g" to "Administrative Processing". I was wondering if you had insight on the what the new AP status after 221g truly means? Thanks!
"Administrative processing" is a generic phrase and can be used to cover multiple situations including: waiting for security clearances, an investigation of either your credentials or information supplied by your petitioner or others. There is no good timeframe for a resolution. Some are resolved within a few days while others may take months. You can have your petitioner follow-up after 30 days.
Interview my wife in manila was refused. Ask for more documents .sent in as requested again received request for more documents sent back as requested in May 2021 to this day no feed back. Nvc.says in admistrative processing. Waiting for documents what does this mean? All documents they ask for was sent in
Hello, Wesley. You will need to continue waiting for their response. Administrative processing can take as long as the government wants. There is nothing to worry about because the documents are in process and being authenticated, but you will have to wait. It is definitely taking longer due to COVID because staffing is still scarce.
Sir, Thank you for the positive message. 1st February my Interview Done. 3rd Feb 221g Refused status. On 08/02/2021 the embassy person called me and asked for my Mother’s date of birth. I informed them. On the very same day the status date changed from 03/02/2021 to 08/02/2021. But status is same. Now im getting worried. What may be Issue. Please advise Sir.

sir i have a question my friend interview today ang she got 221g and she was told to upload the form-1864A from a household member who resides with her petitioner but the household member does want to deal with her petition do the petitioner need to change the address now or still have to submit the requested I-184A? what can we do at this point please
They must submit the required documents or reach out to the embassy and ask if there is another route they can take. Otherwise, it will be denied.
Hi Sir, My wife (H4) got 221g based on travel President proclamation 10199 on June 14th 2021 in one of the consulates in India. The visa application status is Refused since that day. Now we got a new appointment for H4 in a third country. Is it necessary to withdraw the previous H4 application before attending the new appointment? And on contrary, what could happen if we don't withdraw the previous one?

I am from Pakistan. I was appeared for F1 visa (and F2; wife and one kid) on 7th Dec,2020. My visa was approved at the time of the interview but on the same day in evening, I was asked few documents that I submitted on 10,Dec, 2020. Ever since my interview caec is showing refused (Administrative processing). After finding no response, I again sent the documents on 28 Dec, 2020. Still, I am waiting for my visa.
I am a Ph.D. student with a very good academic profile. I am confused why this is happening to me. Can you explain the reason for administrative processing even that have approved my visa at the time of the interview?

hi sir.I was interview on april 2019 and I got admnistriv prossesng and than after 3 months that status change to be refused but until now on I had never get change status any more.What shoud I do for the better case sir.thank
Achmad, thank you for your question. We always recommend that you work closely with the attorney processing your case for the best advice. With that being said, unfortunately, there is nothing to do but wait after submitting any documents requested in a 221g. Administrative processing can take a while. There is no set time frame. The embassy has the ultimate authority and discretion.

I dropped my docs to renew my visa ( B1/B2 , interview waiver ) and They sent them back to me with a white paper 221 g and they asked my to set an appointment with the us embassy for an interview .

From what we have seen and heard from our applicants who have received a 221g, as long as they followed the instructions on the 221g, they received approval upon submitting the requested items.
They said that interview service isn't available at the embassy right now and they don't give any precision about what document i should bring to the interview .
is that not a problem ??

Thank you so much for this, Sir Ron & Atty, I would just like to ask your thoughts about my case. I am a nurse here in the Philippines and was interviewed early this year. I was refused under Administrative Processing because I paid the Immigration lawyer and USCIS fees. The job offer that I showed during the interview states that my employer will reimburse all the expenses I paid, and yet the consul placed me on 221g. Is it illegal to shoulder all the expenses? Do you think there’s a legal basis for the denial?
