Had Playbar for nearly 8 years and still loved it. Don' need Alexa and all that fancy stuffs. Glad ppl are jumping on the Arc bandwagon and selling their playbar cheap. I'm getting another Playbar.
I have the Sonos Playbar, I recently purchased the Sonos Arc but returned after a week of comparison, As a standalone the Sono Arc does have fuller sound, But with surround speakers and a sub the Playbar have a more brighter sound, I am running Sono 2 Play 5s and 2 Sono Subs, The combination with the Playbar is unmatched in my opinion.
Thanks for this review. I'm am about to buy a soundbar. Already have a pair of ones behind my sofa. But I siriously don't know what to choose, beam or arc. I live in a small appartment and I am looking for good surround sound. But it is impossible to hear how the surround sound compares on a youtube video. What would you buy? And how much better is the arc's surround experience?
i have both and they are awesome...The Arc is very nice as is the beam.....ARC has Dolby Atmos sound which is amazing ,,, the sub is awesome too...i have 2 of them with my ARC and ONE SL's...love Sonos
As far as I know whenever non Apple companies implement AirPlay into their devices, it is always only a receiver. I suppose it’s to do with the Apple ecosystem, restricting the universal use between Apple and non Apple products. Kinda a shame as I’ve got stereo HomePods which are placed either side a Sony XH90 TV which does in fact also have airplay (but once again only a receiver, therefore I can’t connect the HomePods directly to the TV...)
This is like comparing a PS5 digital to a PS5 disk. You aren’t noticing differences I assure you. It’s 2023 and I love my playbar. Note that yes I also have the sub and two rear surrounds attached, giving me Alexa and anything else missing. But if you’re spending this much on high end audio, I think you should be treating yourself to the whole package. I get nothing but amazing compliments on my sound at parties or during movies.
No the beam sounds better less artificial and less muddy. In my opinion at least. I think if you aren't going to go Arc then go beam the playbar is now old news
@@ObjectFitness but the beam has far less drivers than the Playbar. Muddy and Artificial? You must've heard a broken Playbar. Other than the Beam having HDMI ARC there's no comparison in terms of sound quality.
The playbar was not up the right way. it was firing all or its sound directly into the desk. Bad comparison. also playbars are not supposed to be listened to from so close so it is a bad representation of the sound anyway.
Its not firing all the sound down , but its upside down for the wall mounted position. It will use sensors to calibrate how to play the sound and is usually placed flat on a table or like this on a wall. But the orientation used in video is for placement above tv, and will not sound optimal. Place it so the logo is towards table in the raised position or lay it flat for next best experience

Hei I have in the living room the same setup Arc / 2 x Sub / 2 One SL. I like the Dolby Atmos and movie experience, but music is not the best... I mainly stream from Tidal. Also Apple Music but not so often. Did you consider to upgrade the One SL to Fives? Or is not making sense?
How many times did you say Sonos 😅, every ting is white 😅 video was boring I skipped to the sound test, and it did not help, i am listening from my mobile speaker, so i will only hear the difference in volume 😅😇

It’s 2023 and i still agree. Same set up tho only one sub. And one of the surrounds give me the voice assistance.
