Mach GoGoGo vs. Speed Racer Comparison (Sub/Dub)

Welcome to Sub/Dub, a new series on this channel that compares an anime series between its original Japanese dub (with English subtitles) and its localized English dub.
On this Sub/Dub, we look at Speed Racer, known back in Japan as Mach GoGoGo. Speed Racer is notorious among western audiences, especially in the United States, for its botched English dubbing. Compare to the eloquent English subtitles present in the much superior Japanese dub.
The English dub makes a mockery out of Mach GoGoGo, and I suggest you watch that show's Japanese dub instead if you actually care about Speed Racer and its world.

Was there a reason the music and other noises were a higher pitch in the dub?

Because they transferred some of the audio from videotapes that had the higher pitch.

​@@imarley2897 what I find irritating is the unnecessary screaming. It totally kills the tension of the scene.
