- Hey guys,
So what car do I drive as my daily? Well, here it is and it's performance figures. Don't laugh because I didn't buy this car for it's performance. Let me know what your daily is in the comments section below.

Might not be cool? Dude don’t disrespect the TSX like that
Jayme Lanuza it’s a beauty. I’ve had mine for a year and a half, NO ISSUES, and I’ll drive it til it dies. I’ve never said that about any vehicle before.
Hilary Zarycki well it is a Honda so yea it'll be fine
For real, I love my TSX
Jayme Lanuza i learned stick on one of those haha there cool cars
The only thing bad about it is they only pump premium gas.
U know nothing man, respect the tsx
That's just like, his opinion man.
Hes probably a tl guy
Don't disrespect the tsx like that. You do not appreciate this car and should just hand it over to me.
Sergio Aguirre for an auto... auto’s are garbage... might as well made it a single cam.lmao...
@Sergio Aguirre Title was a clickbait troll, though. Worst performance? Don't laugh?!?!?
@Sergio Aguirre still a 7 sec 0-60. as fast as a ep3 si
Sergio Aguirre
You sound like a pretentious dick
That's just like, his opinion man.
I have always liked the tail lights of this car.
S V It has one of the meanest asses in the game. Install a rear diffuser and it looks ridiculously good
i love how its derived from the 3rd gen integras :)
they're badass asf
CL9 and CU2 Acura’s both have amazing rears
@@CrispyHulk1 yeah but I prefer the CL9
I see people mod the hell out of these tsx
@Jason Musk lol why you said its sad? its all good bro people will mod what ever car they have. if whats makes them happy. and enjoy driving it.
Yup they do i have a turbo 05 tsx just gotta do everything right also the best daily car to beat on !! N/a is even fun
@Jason Musk a ok i see were you coming from.
@Jason Musk well they're plenty off stock ones around but I see some extremely modded before
K24 that’s why
You forgot to mention reliable! Mines an 05 with 573k+ on its original drivetrain! I recommend keeping it stock and use the money that you would spend on modifying it, to put towards something that you really want to drive on the weekends.😉 The TSX is a perfect daily.
That's awesome dude, looking for my 06 to make it there too one day
Take care of her, & She'll take care of you!
I bought my '06 due to your channel! It was a great problem free year of ownership lol
@@05Forenza Awesome, & thanks! They really are great cars!
The only issue I ever had, was the torque converter seal started leaking & I replaced it. Hopefully it doesn't upset GT Content by mentioning that I have a vid of the seal replacement on my channel. That being said, I really enjoy this channel & look forward to more TSX stuff here!
06 TSX owner here. Nearly identical to yours, but mine's a manual.
I bought it in 08 with 10k miles on it. 10 years of commuting and it's now sitting at 245k. No major issues. Comfortable, agile, and stone cold reliable. Can't ask for much more. I'd drive it anywhere today.
You said no major issues. So what minor issues did you have with it?
Steering rack started to leak at 100k miles, so I replaced it with a reman unit. It's the only repair I've had to make in 245k miles.
How’s the gas mileage I wanna get one for commute to college every day and I don’t really wanna be forced to buy a civic
I get 27-28. Here's 120k miles worth of fillups for my car... www.fuelly.com/car/acura/tsx/2006/cpayne5/22230
Yooo, what color is your tsx? I’m looking for a manual 06 tsx
I’ve always said these cars always looks newer then one might expect , the body ages well
I've owned my 08 TSX for 2 years now and thanks to you just learned the armrest slides forward. 😂
I assume you haven't had any other honda? They all do that.
@@silasmayes7954 I dont remember my 99 Accord doing that. And my armrest felt so stiff I doubt it had been moved much before I bought it. It's no wonder I never noticed.
Bro last night I learned if you hold the unlock button on the control it brings down the windows
@@DJJNC57 lol I accidentally discovered this when my alternator died
@@DJJNC57 Its such a great feature during the summer to air out the car. You can roll them all up by putting the key in the door and holding it in the lock position on the second turn.
TSX is actually the Accord in Asia, so it should be much better than the Civic.
one of the things i like about the tsx is it uses double wishbone and multilink suspension. its not fast but its quick and its fun on twisty roads
tsx may not be fast but man does this car have some pickup
Those 1st gen TSX's were amazing. Yeah, it may not have much power, but it's pretty fun around corners. Throw in the 6 speed manual, and you have a fun little toy.
Respect the TSX
I recently bought an 06 myself. It's an automatic, but I have no shame in owning it. 1st car ever purchased on my own. I would love to have the manual transmission, and even looked all over for them and the acura rsx. No one wants to give them up, cause there to good
I gapped a tsx in a stock Altima
Carl0s00 more cylinders you wouldn’t gap mine tho reflashed
X v6
I just got the manumatic TSX. It’s so fun
I owned an 05 TSX for about 5 years. A few simple mods and these things go from good to great. Sad day when I sold mine.
I’d also like to know what mods you used. I have a 05 tsx
@@hayleynycole6709 Off the top of my head...
Eibach sport system coilovers
Skunk2 Alpha headers
Skunk2 catback exhaust
K&N cold air intake
2.5in Magnaflow Performance Muffler
Short throw shifter (cant remember the brand)
Wilwood drilled and slotted brakes
Pirelli tires on some aftermarket light weight alloy wheels
Had a few more things that cost more like carbon fiber hood, fenders and trunk and theres some stuff I cant remember like the clutch I chose. Also you'll need a good tune after to get the power curve the way you want it. Overall I made about 235hp. Not much more then stock but with the suspension I had it was planted and pulled hard
@@albertarbelo dam that's beast how you had carbon fiber everything haha. that's my plan
Drove one of these for ten years. An absolutely fantastic car. Made in Japan, with that K24 engine. Did absolutely everything well with refinement and bulletproof reliability.
The TSX is a performance car! It's awesome! Don't disrespect it!
No it’s not. It’s NA 4 cylinder
LOL you idiot. Stop trying to tell yourself it's a performance car. So cringe.
@@phodacbitch To Acura, "performance" is measured much differently. In fact, Acura themselves tell me that they don't do much instrumental testing and they're focused more on the driving experience and fun than raw numbers. Acura are perhaps the masters of front wheel drive chassis tuning, and that TSX would not have been allowed to leave their factory unless it was fun and met their definition of performance.
I like that ‘06 Acura TSX. 205 horsepower for a 4 cylinder is really good!
Owned my 06 tsx for over 2 years now, daily driver and almost at 200k... love my car never has given me problems, take care of your car and its maintenances and the car will take care of you
I have a 2006 Acura TL base model as a daily driver, and it is awesome! Your TSX is a mini version of the TL, I think it is a very nice choice for a daily driver. Thanks for sharing!
My first Acura was a new 06 TSX Aspec 5AT w/ navi. I handed it down to our son for his first car in H.S. and later his college ride starting in 2014. Very reliable car with a lot of bang for the buck luxury, tech, safety tech, and handling compared to other vehicles in a similar price range. Probably would be still on the road today if it wasn't hit by a red light runner in 2019 at 176,000 miles (zero injury to the kid).
I miss the Acura of this era, the TL and the TSX of this era it was simple and straightforward was amazing I don’t know the hell Acura did it. This car is virtually a grown up version of the 4 Door Integra, I love my manuals to death but this car gets going and is solid ride.
Yes acura really shit the bed after 2008, i wish their cars now were more simple and understandable. I feel like they just put as many buttons and random slits and curves and grilles all over everything in an attempt to look super futuristic and luxurious. But I get it, they want people that don't know cars very well to think it's not a honda. Still love acura to death though.
I drive my 2004 TSX approx. 650 miles a week for deliveries. It runs flawlessly and with 30 mpg at 75 mph, I am pleased with its reliability and road handling. I’ve owned it for 5 years and have only replaced the oil every 5,000 miles brakes every 30,000, tires every 35,000 and have the transmission power flushed every 40,000 miles. I’ve got 255K miles on it now. I would say it’s close to any BMW handling on the twisty roads. I’ll drive this one until the engine or tranny quits. It’s a keeper.
Hey Chris thank you so much for this comment. I actually have one and I purchased, about 2 yrs ago. She had original owners since the yr of making, and they kept her in pristine condition- garage kept. So I lucked out with that one, she had 111 on the dash when I got her, and now she has about 156. I have no problems with her. However, lately she's been doing this thing where she doesn't want to turn back on. (Onlt does it once in a blue) I'm not too sure if it's a starter or fuel pump. But since your experienced and if you want to give me your opinion on that, I would be glad to hear it because I have no idea what it could be. All-in-all she is a spectacular car. She looks way more modern than what she should Year wise. But I'm going to ride with my baby until we can't no more LOL
Into my second year of college I wanted to look for a car that would fit my life style. I would drive all the time and have people inside of it, I want something good on gas, but I want something sporty and fun too. I ended up choosing an Acura TSX 04 over any other car in 2016. So far I’ve dailyed it every day, and never had it give me problems. I took it on trips and from SF to LA I didn’t even need to fill up on gas once. Me being a college kid I did put a Vibrant Street Power Exhaust (which is not too loud but loud enough when pushing it) and a DC header. The sound is not ricey at all but I plan to add some mugen things to it and change rims to top it off but make it look simple still. I say modify it lightly as it is your daily, but don’t over do it! You’re going to love this car!
Ayyyy I’m from the bay too, and I’m looking for a 2006 tsx
Wait a second lol. You drove from SF to LA I’m the TSX and didn’t need to get gas at any point? The MPG’s are pretty good but not that good.
My tsx at 250k miles. From 100k-220k miles, i replaced a starter, power steering pump, alternator, a strut, wheel bearing, rack and pinion(major), ac system(major), catalyt coverter, valve cover gasket, driver door lock actuator(not fixed). Yah. Luckily not expensive to fix. 4 cyl hondas and acura suck. Cheap parts. Buy v6 last longer.
I own the Australian version of this car which I bought to daily , and as you said for its luxury features. Me being me though, It wasn't long before I started modifying it.. These engines are very de-tuned from factory, and respond so well with bolt on's from the K20a engine and a good tune.
My engine now has the RSP Intake manifold, 50 deg vtc unit from a k20a type R engine. J35 throttle body from the V6, lightened flywheel/clutch (k20a engine) PLM 4-2-1 big tube headers, HFC, 2.5 Inch exhaust, Injen CAI, K-tuner ecu(custom mapped). These mods pushed atw power from the stock 110kw atw to the 150kw mark.
I found one of the biggest let downs was the gearing of the stock manual transmission (especially 1'st to 2nd), so I sourced a JDM Euro R close ratio 6 speed with lsd, and all of a sudden it was no longer a lazy car to drive.
Brakes were also upgraded to cross drilled/slotted rotors, braided lines, pads etc etc
An area I really payed a lot of attention to was the suspension, with upgraded larger 22mm progress adjustable rear sway bar(massive improvement), hard race bushes on the front sway, Hard race lower control arms, Hard race ball joints, Hard race steering rack ends, skunk2 pro upper arms with camber adjustment, BC BR adjustable coil overs, Super Pro adjustable sway bar end links all round, Hard race rear camber arms, spoon adjustable rear toe arms, and a decent set up/alignment by a reputable alignment workshop.
They may be a heavy luxury sedan, but Ive upset many bigger engine vehicles with this car, especially through the mountains.
Next on the cards Is boosted engine build, and Its finished :D
I'd love to see yours in a car meet, i live down here in melbourne :)
Same
Boosted yet?
I’ve got an 05 myself and I love it! I’m happy I found your channel dude with legit vids on a 1st gen TSX. Got me so stoked and you should definitely post more DIY on it. Maybe even safe mods you’d recommend, love the content man.
The k24a2 is one of the best performance platforms honda ever made. Respect the 04-08 tsx.
What are your thoughts between ILX and 10th gen si? Thirsty but K24 with heavier chassis or lightweight torquey turbo?
The manual 6spd 1st gen TSX definitely gets better performance and adds to the sporty characteristics of vehicle. I still atm have it....and debating whether to keep it or sell it (ever since I got my 2018 Type R). But was definitely a fun car to drive.
Just picked up a 2007 TSX 6spd as a daily driver and I love it! It’s honestly a great car and the k24 is a bad ass setup to work with... yes the car is pretty heavy and you fall out of vtec even when you redline because vtec is set so high and rev limit is fairly low.. but that can be easily fixed with bolt ons and tune... k series is so restricted from factory they respond really well to mods... only complaint I have is I hate the drive by wire it doesn’t allow you to shift as fast as you want...other than that the k24 has plenty of torque on the bottom end
I’ve got an 06 TSX also as a daily, I think they are great looking cars. I read if you mod the engine your MPG will go down quite a bit. I just did some Evo 8/9 BBS, good tires, quality struts/springs, radar detector, and dash cam. Perfect daily/momentum car and I can still get low 30s for mileage.
Hey I have 2009 tsx is that 2nd gen ??? And can u help me locate the Bluetooth module ? It’s not on the passenger side like the 06
Shoulda got the Manual version of this car; they're unicorns, but coming from a 2010 TSX 6MT, it's the best all round Daily Driver I've ever ever owned. Not as fast, but definitely liked it more than the 04 Wrx and 2010 G37 sedan I had
Absolutely correct. I was looking for one and did a national search. There are probably less than 10 for sale in the states. Unicorn indeed. The tl manuals are way more common for whatever reason.
I frankly tried finding one and there hard as hell to find and people want too much $$$$ for them. Though the AT on the TSX is quite responsive I’ve owned an 05, 06 myself and I miss this car it was right balance for weight and power without getting into too much trouble.
@@iheartgs400 Absolutely right. At a certain point it's not even worth it. Were all of yours automatics?
Sam Harris unfortunately yes, it was my DD to my project G35 Sedan 6 Speed Manual I was working on in the past. I have moved on from both and got a 2G Lexus GS430 now. Personally speaking I love the luxyry/sports sedan era of the early till late 2000’s was really unique and special for its time it sucks they have lost there luster because of CUV’s.
Interesting. In what ways was the tsx better than the g37? I'm considering buying a g37 and selling my tsx
I have a 06 tsx too. Love it and probably stay with the Acura brand for future cars. Reliable and luxurious for less
I own a 2006 CL9 and have got a reflash, intake, headers, exhaust, and coilovers. I still find it extremely comfortable to drive in and is much nicer to drive than stock. Would recommend doing those mods.
I found an 05 TSX Manual with only 26K miles on it. How crazy is that.
The TSX in stock form performs well for its time, but has a great platform especially for 06+. I daily an '08 6MT with CTE Icebox, ASP3 Euro R trans, ITR flywheel. In some respects I enjoy driving it as much as my e92 M3.
I just bought an 08 TSX as my new daily and I love it! I watched yours and others' reviews and did a bunch of research before i made my decision. Like you, I found mine on accident too, although I was already set on a TSX or TL before I saw it. I got a great deal on a low mileage garage kept single owner car and I agree with you that this car offers so much value for the price. The power is more than sufficient for passing and it's a fantastic handling car, and is very stable at speed. The steering is very direct and the ride is way more refined than a Civic, or even an Accord. I used to be in car sales and have driven many, many different types of vehicles, and I can't recommend a TSX enough if someone is looking for a handsome, well built, and fun vehicle!
Great review, very to the point, and I like how you focused on what is really important in a daily driver. Subbed!
Thanks! Great to know your experience also.
Quick question did you always use the premium gas

My '05 TSX has 298000 miles. I still love and drive my Acura.
Dzmitry Eizenkrein any mayor issues? I’m thinking to buy one with 170k miles..
Great video man I like how you just get to the point on how the car is it with that celeration and everything else and honesty
04 MT here with 210,000 miles. Put every mile on it! I've rented countless cars and it's hard to find one that drives as fun as the TSX.
Had an 05 auto. 2 points of failure that came out when I modded: the transmission and the axles. Had the reflash, headers, intake, cat and a spec suspension. I bottomed out on a very normal pothole and it ruined the passenger side axle. On the transmission, that blew when I did a couple of spirited stoplight sprints. If I could go back, I'd still mod for power but leave the suspension alone.
Still I drove it past 150k miles and the engine still performed beautifully.
I have a v6 with 200hp and your four banger has more so what are you complaning about
I have a 4.0 ranger. only 160 hp!!! so like 125 to the wheels. PITIFUL
The official daily driver of the POTUS!
TheeJoeyLee 160? Damn and I thought I had it bad
@@donaldj.trumpfromthetrench8849 I'm at 285 hp ;) ... but I weigh 2200 kg or close to 5000 pounds.. still I run a 1/4 in 16 sec. so ehhhh I'm middle of the ball park
Australia got screwed. We only got the NA 4 cylinder which doesn’t match the aggressive styling.
Have an 08 Auto TSX 172k, beautiful car that has a decent amount of power, amazing handling and extremely reliable.
Currently saving up for a TL Type S but this TSX is fantastic, for all you gearheads out there, would it even be worth putting an intake on an Auto? Dont know too much about this stuff, mainly have this car for daily, not to be fast or mod it but I always wonder if a few cheap mods can bring a bit more out of it.
Is auto an issue?
Worst thing I did was go from a TSX to a beat up TLS, traded the TLS for my current IS250 Manual, its SLOW and BORING! I will getting the TSX again, I came back full circle but at least I got to see the power of the TLS, I also got to learn manual on this IS250 (even though the mt in this car sucks!), wish I could find a nice MT TSX but its all good, TSX was the best car I ever had and thats why its my choice again!
I know this has been said before. I've been subbed for a long time. I cannot figure out why there are not more subs, this is fantastic content.
I own 2003 Accord CL9 with manual transmission (no tuning, 180k mileage) and 0-100 kph time I measured was 7,8 secs (measured with the wind and against the wind and the two results averaged). I don't know, maybe it's due to automatic transmission and some extra stuff inside and soundproofing (Acura > Honda), but the difference is suprisingly big. 9,6 0-60mph would be 10 secs to 100 kph. Are TSXs always so slow?
My pearl 08 is brilliant and I have no complaints! As a first car, it's a quick little car! I have some plans to mod it in the future (headers, Catback, intake manifold, cold air intake, tune, wheels and tires, springs and some small cosmetic stuff) and my only complaint with the car is the fact that there really isnt much aftermarket support. Other than that, it's a brilliant little car and I can't wait to put many more miles on it!
Superbly built cars. I have the Honda version, never lets me down.
Try swapping the intake manifold first with the si k20z3 since it's larger...its a clean start and won't take away from what you want
i own same car but under badge of honda made for europe. only 110k km not even mile drives like brand new i love it. what can i do to modify this beautiful car?
My 04 Accord is the most reliable daily driver. Still running strong at 232k miles
Rookie To Pro My 04 accord manual at 290k n running strong 😭💪🏽
AYE ! Goals
I have a 04 Honda Accord LX. Got 221k on it. Drive about 40 miles a day altogether
I personally love the look of the TSX. Still looks modern even tough the design is more than a decade old. Looking to buy one soon.
I got an Accord CL7 (basically a TSX through 'n through, except, for the logos) - Love it. 345k kilometers on it, and still going strong. For being what it is, it's amazing. Hands down. Like you said in the video; Not trying to sell anyone anything, but for seing them for their price, you can't go wrong :D
I wish my 2007 Accord had the 60/40 split rear seats like the TSX. Its only a one piece folding seat. I love everything else about it tho. Never given me problems. Has the very reliable K24 engine
I've had my 2008 TSX for almost 5 years now with almost about 150,000 miles and its a great daily driver. I really love the car,Sometimes im like damn this thing is slow and i want to mod it but then im like the only thing that would make that car move quick is a supercharger or turbo. In the future I plan on supercharging it and I think with about 240-260 hp will really make the car alive. The handling is great and ive put koni shocks with tein h tech springs with upgraded breaks all around and a TL-S rear sway bar and the car really loves taking corners. Biggest issue ive had with the car was the steering rack started leaking and cost me about $800 to replace and install. Other than that just basic maintenance stuff.Awesome car
I think the first thing you need to do is give a good polish to the paint and revitalize the leather, you will feel better driving and good looking car
I also chose a TSX for my daily over my F150 Ecoboost... Way cheaper, make sure if your A/C compressor shits the bed in your TSX that you replace the ENTIRE A/C system and not just the compressor. I just had that problem and the new compressor exploded on the freeway.
Hello there. I want to buy a 2004 Accord 2.4 petrol. I've seen videos with some 4WD Accord. Are those stock?
I've driven nothing but Acura sedans since '08. Currently have a '16 TLX Advance. I never owned a 1G TSX but I did have a 2G TSX V6 Tech. That was a sweet ride. Very fast and fun to drive. Loved the V6 power. The only strike against my TSX was how easily and quickly the rotors warped. Had to turn them at 9k and again at 26k. Replaced them completely at 35k. But other than that, the car was a blast.
I’m looking to buy a 2005 Acura tsx this coming summer..
Any idea on the price range of this car model right now in the market?
Thanks 🙏
I've owned 94 Civic coupe, 06 350z , and currently own a 16 Focus ST. And my cousin has 06 TSX 6 speed, and I have to say, it's a nice little car. It reminded me so much of my Civic. And I loved my Civic. My cousin let me drive that TSX, and I'll admit it isn't the fastest car but it isn't a slug either. I really have considered buying one because of the feel, it reminds me so much of my Civic and it has the 4 doors which is great since I have kids.
Yep my 04 TSX is great but had to have the MT. Great daily and can handle lots of abuse on the drive train. 170k still strong, I goty monies worth.
Team: my gf (now wife) bought a brand new one in 2008 (bright red with tan interior) under my guidance. Gorgeous car! We loved it for our hour hour-long commute each way. We quickly took it to 80k when she was hit by a dude pulling into an Olive Garden. Two cars, head-on; he was jumping across a four lane road and she was just driving in her lane probably doing 25-45. A total loss but the car protected her and her mother well -- they walked away unscathed. Very impressive! I was glad she was safe but less thrilled we just put in a new battery and 4 new Michelins -- our only costs outside of oil changes. (If you can affords the primacy it works well for that car and I believe was the stock tire.) She bought a 2009 which was the new design and although slightly quieter and larger it was not as attractive. It is worth mentioning when I met her she has an RSX which was basically a two-door version of the car which we traded in for the TSX -- less sporty but much more comfortable and safe. Years later we have three kids a 4runner and a Prius with 180k -- what happed to Acura? But I agree--respect the TSX. BTW All three ran fine on regular gas. what is cool is occasionally putting in the premium for a fun day of driving -- the performance gain was not dramatic). If you push the unlock button twice and then hold it down the windows all roll down -- great for hot days.
@GT Content a reflash is a must. I use my 2008 Tsx as a daily too. Currently have 234k and still my daily! Only mod i have is reflash and visors. The reflash really makes it a stronger daily.
Is the transmission bad like the TL 06?
Can you do a video of the 1st generation genesis coupe? I’d love to hear your thoughts
I got a 2004 TSX toda with 88,000 miles. Happy with my purchase! I like your enthusiasm in describing your TSX.
I had an '06 TSX with the 6 speed for about a year. Absolutely fantastic daily driver. I sold it due to a complicated lease with a VW I had and used it as a down payment on a new Accord 2.0T Sport. I still miss my TSX...good car.
Good review as always Gary. I wonder if anyone makes a sliding center arm rest for 90s civics and integras. Their arm rests are useless
My friend got the TL instead of the TSX. He crossed shopped them both, the TL had more miles but offered him more. It's still going strong, while my G6 had many many problems now I have a 17 Honda Accord Touring.
I have the 2004 version and I like it. I only wish it had the navigation and Bluetooth.
One thing i love about my 2008 civic is the flat floor in the rear
I have a 2008 TSX in a glacier blue color. I'm probably the only one in my city with this car in that Color. It's my daily driver too. I love it. I just wish it had better city milage.
I miss the 1990 Accord we had. My mom and dad use to drive me and my sister around in it. I wish we still had it. I would totally daily drive it and they are low maintenance too. I would put aluminum rims on it and tint the windows black.
my dad had a 00 accord bought new when we sold it in 2013 it had 430k miles, the only thing we replaced was the transmission at 300k and the interior since it was all dirty from when we were kids lol. sold it for 900 as it needed new paint and high miles
Sernie Banders Cb7 was my first car 14 years ago
I own a txs about a year now... I bought it cuz I need a car ASAP cuz my car was totaled and the dealer guy show me the tsx which I was not looking for and I fall in love with it... I spent 1,500 more that I planned but it worth every penny... and guess what! I’m keeping it for my daily driving... its cool... it’s ride really nice and it’s very reliable..! And it have a lot equipment.. navy, sunroof, leather, electric windows..etc! Love it !
I found a cool feature in my 04 TSX , on the keyfob push and hold both the unlock and trunck buttons together and all the windows open 😁 love my TSX
Hey man, I also have an 2006 Acura TSX as my daily driver. It's stick but doesn't have the fancy nav. Two questions that maybe you could help with. Does yours have battery issues? My battery drain happens quite often. Online i've looked around and removed the bluetooth located on the passenger side, and that seemed to help but there's still a bit of battery drain. Second is if you've thought of options to include android auto or carplay. It's my daily driver but my audio system and speakers are still from 2006. Hoping to get a bit more comfort in the drive. Cheers~
Check your grounding cables. I found that the one connected to the battery was not grounding correctly after taking it off and sanding the area where it bolts onto the chassis. No more drain issues after I did that. Must have had slight corrosion that I couldn't see.
As far as audio. I bought an adapter so I could plug my phone to the car's speaker system and play music. The connection is located in the glove box.
Given the fact that it is a daily it didnt seem to slow for me. I looking forward to buy one and this video really helped me out
I gotta add another comment I've had my 06 tsx for a month its loaded!!! and ahead of its time as far as performance goes I use premium fuel since I've had it and mine seems a good bit quicker than yours and I dont use manual mode but its quick for a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder your very unappreciative
Good video thanks for the information!!
the acura tsx is the future version of 4 door integras. just look at the front and it looks like the 2nd gen or 3rd gen with jdm front. the TSX in manual is awesome but I doubt even auto makes it the worse performance car. it's a nice car :)
jdmnsxr 6 autos are still fun, those autos on the Tsx are bullet proof 💪🏾
I’m getting one this Friday are they reliable?
What do you think of the Acura TL type S as a daily driver.
I just bought a a 2010 TSX about 6 months ago and its great (under 50K miles!). I think they look dope, its drives great and its very comfortable. Cant wait to throw some rims on it next summer.
I loved this car at 14 I’m 17 now still love it
Just got a 2008. Love it! Fun and comfortable to drive. Very happy.
U should modify it. I have a 07 tsx sitting on coils and i want to know if its worth doing engine mods
Jesus Romero definetly is
I've done PLM headers, CAI, ECU reflash, high flow cat, RBC intake mani, and throttle bodies from a fn2r. Don't get me wrong it's not stupid fast, but its faster than your average car on the road and makes for a super fun daily with potential for some b-road action on your drive home from work haha
If you're planning to keep your TSX for a long time, its worth it.
Love the TSX. My wife's daily is a 12 TSX wagon, and mine is an 03 CL type S 6 speed. Great cars, and you made a good point. Being used, they are not that much more expensive than a Honda and you get a lot more.
I have a blue 2006 Acura TSX and I love it. I have no complaints. Lol. 😂❤️
I have that car too, love it. I bought the euro r lip kit and it looks great.
Very clean TSX you have! I have an 07 TSX 6MT and recently went back to a near stock config to increase comfort and reduce emissions. Originally had suspension mods + intake, headers, high flow cat, exhaust, RSX VTC, and a custom dyno tune with Hondata Flashpro which was netting about 220 whp. Not a fast car by any means, but is still a fun daily. Now I only have intake and ecu reflash which is fine for hauling my kids around.
If I were to do it all over, I would have just gotten the intake, headers, and reflash, Acura A-Spec suspension, TL Type S rear sway bar, and called it a day. That would provide an enhanced feel without much compromise. Since you have the 06, the stock cat and exhausts are really good and you won’t gain much by adding HFC and aftermarket exhaust.
AOMechMarine, good point. There are actually 2 headers that are CARB legal for the 1st gen TSX. DC Sports make one which is still available and CT-E which is discontinued. I've had both in the past and they yielded about the same performance. The DC Sports headers are known to crack at the flex pipe over time, but I never had any issues with it personally. The only problem with the CT-E one is some vibration heard during idle while in gear, but the build its quality should last the lifetime of the car. The good news is that these headers don't add much noise at all. In my case, the noise primarily came from the aftermarket exhaust, so I would just skip an exhaust altogether unless you plan to supercharge your setup.
For the TSX though, because the headers are installed between the rear of the engine and the firewall, many shops wouldn't even peek back there since it's tucked out of the way. The ILX is a bit different since the K24 engine is mounted like the B series where the headers are installed between in the front near the radiator and is a lot more obvious to see. I do regret getting rid of my headers, but I am still happy with current setup for daily driving. Forgot to mention that I also have underdrive pulleys which help with the acceleration as well.
You still have any of those parts? And would you be willing to sell them?
Richard Hufferson sorry, I sold those parts months ago.
AOMechMarine AOMechMarine , right on man! I agree that it’s a fun car to mess around in without too much consequence. Like you said, the cost of ownership is pretty low and some folks are hitting north of 300k miles without major issues.
I’m from SoCal too, glad to have found another fellow Honda enthusiast! That’s cool that DC Sports used your car as a test vehicle. Best of luck to you and your modding journey.
the tsx is a great car, if you take care of it will run forever. i do own an 06 as well now has 280k and still strong. for a daily driver is fast, reliable, and comfortable, between an accord and tsx, hands down the TSX is way better.
Great vid, I enjoyed watching
I have a 2006 TSX it's by far the best car I've ever owned. Just hit 100K miles. Always change oil every 5k and top all fluids and it needs nothing. Bluetooth is outdated but have an AUX jack so that works the bluetooth perfect.
2 years ago I gave my son my 04 Acura TSX for his 16th birthday and just a few months ago a guy at my job was selling his white 06 Acura TSX for a thousand dollars , just front bumper damage and flex pipe leak, now i have catback DNA exhaust, rev9 coilovers, all front suspension done with new axles and this thing drives amazing
Being the only car I have (same car without nav) I want to mod mine knowing it isn't fast. Keep in mind I haven't done any of these mods.
The ecu reflash from the research I've done tells me that's it totally worth it! You don't have the power drop-off at 6k rpm with the reflash. As for an intake you'd be better off putting a "performance" k&n high air flow filter. It doesn't sound as good, but generally you lose power with cold air intakes and short ram intakes. As for a cat back exhaust lots of good options exist I can't recommend one because I haven't done the research. I'd recommend putting some decent brakes on the car it might just be the person I bought from put bad brakes on the car.
What do you mean power drop off at 6k? I've got an 06 TSX and that's when it hits VTEC
@@richardhufferson8511 if you look at the dyno graph for a 1st gen tsx you see a small torque drop off a 6k rpm right when vtec starts. The reflash starts vtec at 4850 rpm which I think fixes the issue. The power drop is only 24-28 lbs/ft of torque (depending of manual or auto transmission) so it isn't super noticeable.
@@silasmayes7954 Didn't know that. Thanks for the info
The manual version of this is much quicker....by at least 2 seconds to 60! I didn't realise the auto was so slow
im hyped in march my uncle is going to sell me his old 2005 tsx
Do i have to use premium gas?
