If you do want to try LE but hate that the price is so low, you do have 2 more options for pre order- $50 and $65 editions. It's not $70 or $100 but at least it's something...

Funnily, as long as LE cycles are offset from POE leagues like they'll at least start out being, it'll never really be a competition more like enhancing eachother as people bounce back and forth after they complete one

You won't regret it. I also just started and can already say that it is more than worth it. And it is very important in my opinion to also funancially support developers that care foremost about their players and the game than to generate shareholder revenues.

On a serious note, the skill tree part is why I think Last Epoch > Path of Exile. That PoE skill tree is just a monster full of "+1 str" nodes. It is an excel sheet nightmare.

It UA-cam added a "impressions" view count in brackets next to the normal view count, because in this case it has received a lot more attention via other sources (hopefully people will sub to this channel because of the exposure). That being said.. I think I've put D4 into the category of Cyberpunk 2077's release, as in maybe it'll be worth playing in a year or 2 (after release). So I too maybe "hating" Last Epoch a bunch 🤣
The only problem is that Path of Excrement doesn't hold a candle to Last Epoch. Not even a spark. It's like comparing a Michelin Star brownie to a dog turd. People are drawn to PoE because they want SO DESPERATELY to destroy Diablo's popularity over trivial garbage. D1 and D2 will NEVER be trumped by any game. But D3 and D4 are destroyed by NWN, BG, Dungeon Siege 1 & 2, Grim Dawn, and now, Last Epoch. Path of Excrement is equal to Sacred 1. That is where it stands. 1 3 million players. That's all it has. Pretty sad.

I paid £13 for the game, played got 600 hours and then paid £35 for the ultimate edition upgrade and dont regret it 1 bit. I bought D4 and played for about 100 and will never go back (cant say i regret it though)

The cool...er bad thing... about Last Epoch is that despite having a mass of choices, it's fairly easy to put together a build. I made one without a guide. A Void Knight based around Void Cleave, which I made part fire damage, which also casts Abyssal Echoes when I used it that I also changed to fire. Oh and I made it so that my next Erasing Strike after Void Cleave is a crit... and made Void Crit into a teleport. And spread Time Rot around that I also made into fire with Anomaly. And when Void Cleave is on its short cooldown? I have a basic skill in Rive that doesn't suck. And there's also a ton of other builds I could have done with those same skills. Choices are a bad thing, right?
blizz is to scared of long term work in balancing builds, thats also why they dumbed down wow - it was to costly to always feed the crybabies for "nerf barb" "nerf pala" - thats why they did not implement pala in d4 cause its ALWAYS a shitshow of balance ^^
i've never played an arpg or diablo game until i bought diablo iv a few months ago. i'm enjoying it right now but i noticed it doesn't have much depth to it. the part about loot filters, managing an inventory of yellows after each dungeon run and only having 5 or 6 inventory tabs really hit home for me. i always pick up the loot so i can dismantle it for resources.....upgrading items and enchanting items is pretty expensive in this game. that being said, ive done a sorcerer and now i'm onto a barbarian. i'll try each character once just to see what it's like, but after that, i'm gonna give last epoch a shot. this seems like it checks all the boxes, and not in a unfulfilling grindy way either. thanks for the video!
I've played: Diablo 1: ~100 hours Diablo 2(LOD): ~2000 hours Diablo 3: ~250 hours Diablo 4: ~100 hours Path of Exile: ~400 hours Titan Quest 2: ~100 hours Torchlight 1: ~150 hours Torchlight 2: ~50 hours Wolcen: ~50 hours Last epoch: ~100 hours And amongst all these, I'd say that Last Epoch is the best feeling and rewarding ARPG currently on the market. I'm intentionally not playing it more, since I'm waiting for the 1.0 release, so I don't burn out prematurely on the game. (And most of my playtime was prior to a lot of the recent content updates, it has only gotten better)

God I just love how in Diablo 4 we have to ALWAYS be online to play, even if we are playing solo. Really immersive to the world! But LE giving us an option to make offline characters? What do they think we are??? CRAZY?! Like who would EVER use that???
I know right?! Imagine playing games offline ever?! When would that ever be convenient for the player?! Being 100% honest though, I would be able to overlook some of D4's flaws if you could play offline. That alone would generate a great deal of good will with me.
You Last Epoch players think you want skill trees, but you really don't. Sarcasm aside, a very fun game that anyone who ever enjoyed a Diablo game (for me, it was 2) should play. The launch has been good... not great, not bad, just kind of annoying with long load times and matchmaking issues. It's gotten better over the course of the weekend, I give the developers props for continuously working on it, but it still needs improvements. The game itself is playable once you get in, so they got that part right, and we've been having fun for the first 4 days in spite of the hiccups. Was playing with a buddy, so offline wasn't an option for us, but available to everyone else.
all jokes aside, i really hope last epoch introduce some kind of mircro transactions to help funding the dev so they can constantly updateng the game in long run. I played the very early version of LE and fell in love instantly. It really has the potential to compete with poe in the arpg genre.
Quite honestly the sarcasm as the start of the video was so well acted that I didn't wanted to see the rest of the video. And boy the community of D4 players is JUST LIKE THAT... But I left the video keep playing and found myself laughing here and there and laugh at it as it evolved. Great content. Thanks for the video. I will check Last Epoch for sure.
My only issue with epoch is the feedback when skills hit. Sound design and animations are key it makes u feel the blows. That is my only pet peeve with last epoch.

Hey, D4 player here. Just bought Last Epoch because it looked awesome, and your video was so obnoxiously preachy I’m glad I didn’t see it before I bought the game or I might have overlooked it. I love the fact that it has an actual Necromancer class, and if I had seen this video I might not have experienced the bliss of going through and enjoying a minion build that didn’t suck. Thank god I didn’t see this until after I was done buying and playing it for 40 hours in 3 days

2:19 Path of Exile: I have Fireball that freezes everyone, fires it from my Totem and actually deals Poison damage, instead of Fire. Also it returns back after some time.
I was initially apprehensive about buying Last Epoch considering the mixed reviews on Steam concerning load times, but after watching your video, I realized that I don't really care about online play. I just want to play a good ARPG and have fun and upon realizing that I can play offline. I just bought it right away. Thanks for helping me make the decision. 🙏

The only problem is that Path of Excrement doesn't hold a candle to Last Epoch. Not even a spark. It's like comparing a Michelin Star brownie to a dog turd.
People are drawn to PoE because they want SO DESPERATELY to destroy Diablo's popularity over trivial garbage. D1 and D2 will NEVER be trumped by any game. But D3 and D4 are destroyed by NWN, BG, Dungeon Siege 1 & 2, Grim Dawn, and now, Last Epoch.
Path of Excrement is equal to Sacred 1. That is where it stands. 1 3 million players. That's all it has. Pretty sad.

@@kelderos that just a troller, POE2 will be great, even the dodges are done with weight. D4 showed us so little of endgame for us to critic before launch thats why it failed compared to LE and POE. D4 will be a better game next expac but it has already lost most of the hype.

By the way, I have a couple of things I would like to tell you / discuss after carefully watching the video again.
Firstly, the Last Epoch channel link in the description is broken. Secondly, I really think this video has potential to reach audience of other languages. I have been trying to tell my friends (who speak Mandarin mostly) about Last Epoch but haven't found a good video to introduce it to them. I think this is perfect. Would you entertain the idea of adding Chinese subtitle for the video? (possibly other language, too, but myself is only capable of doing the Chinese part).
If you're interested in the subtitle idea we can talk more. You could perhaps add some social accounts to the about page on the channel? (Discord? Twitter?)

@@FrostylarooI’m happy to volunteer for the Mandarin subtitle if you could share subtitle editing permission. Mandarin/Chinese is my mother tongue and I’ve been living in the US for 12 years now so English shouldn’t be a problem either. Played Diablo game for life and LE for 80 hours so far.

I paid £13 for the game, played got 600 hours and then paid £35 for the ultimate edition upgrade and dont regret it 1 bit. I bought D4 and played for about 100 and will never go back (cant say i regret it though)

The sarcasm was strong here. I had a great laugh. Last Epoch seems to be what Diablo used to be, or could have evolved to be.
The cool...er bad thing... about Last Epoch is that despite having a mass of choices, it's fairly easy to put together a build. I made one without a guide. A Void Knight based around Void Cleave, which I made part fire damage, which also casts Abyssal Echoes when I used it that I also changed to fire. Oh and I made it so that my next Erasing Strike after Void Cleave is a crit... and made Void Crit into a teleport. And spread Time Rot around that I also made into fire with Anomaly. And when Void Cleave is on its short cooldown? I have a basic skill in Rive that doesn't suck.
And there's also a ton of other builds I could have done with those same skills. Choices are a bad thing, right?
blizz is to scared of long term work in balancing builds, thats also why they dumbed down wow - it was to costly to always feed the crybabies for "nerf barb" "nerf pala" - thats why they did not implement pala in d4 cause its ALWAYS a shitshow of balance ^^
They all work because all are op , thus is why so many builds work

You earned a subscription with this one. Last Epoch... ugh. Worst 1,003 hours I ever spent playing an ARPG, and it hasn't even launched yet. Terrible.
i've never played an arpg or diablo game until i bought diablo iv a few months ago. i'm enjoying it right now but i noticed it doesn't have much depth to it. the part about loot filters, managing an inventory of yellows after each dungeon run and only having 5 or 6 inventory tabs really hit home for me. i always pick up the loot so i can dismantle it for resources.....upgrading items and enchanting items is pretty expensive in this game. that being said, ive done a sorcerer and now i'm onto a barbarian. i'll try each character once just to see what it's like, but after that, i'm gonna give last epoch a shot. this seems like it checks all the boxes, and not in a unfulfilling grindy way either. thanks for the video!

Diablo 2(LOD): ~2000 hours
Diablo 3: ~250 hours
Diablo 4: ~100 hours
Path of Exile: ~400 hours
Titan Quest 2: ~100 hours
Torchlight 1: ~150 hours
Torchlight 2: ~50 hours
Wolcen: ~50 hours
Last epoch: ~100 hours
And amongst all these, I'd say that Last Epoch is the best feeling and rewarding ARPG currently on the market.
I'm intentionally not playing it more, since I'm waiting for the 1.0 release, so I don't burn out prematurely on the game.
(And most of my playtime was prior to a lot of the recent content updates, it has only gotten better)

God I just love how in Diablo 4 we have to ALWAYS be online to play, even if we are playing solo. Really immersive to the world!

Being 100% honest though, I would be able to overlook some of D4's flaws if you could play offline. That alone would generate a great deal of good will with me.

You Last Epoch players think you want skill trees, but you really don't.
Sarcasm aside, a very fun game that anyone who ever enjoyed a Diablo game (for me, it was 2) should play.
The launch has been good... not great, not bad, just kind of annoying with long load times and matchmaking issues. It's gotten better over the course of the weekend, I give the developers props for continuously working on it, but it still needs improvements. The game itself is playable once you get in, so they got that part right, and we've been having fun for the first 4 days in spite of the hiccups. Was playing with a buddy, so offline wasn't an option for us, but available to everyone else.
Wow I learned so much. I didn't know Diablo 4 had a skill tree, stash tabs, or players.

all jokes aside, i really hope last epoch introduce some kind of mircro transactions to help funding the dev so they can constantly updateng the game in long run. I played the very early version of LE and fell in love instantly. It really has the potential to compete with poe in the arpg genre.

My only issue with epoch is the feedback when skills hit. Sound design and animations are key it makes u feel the blows. That is my only pet peeve with last epoch.
From what we've seen lately it looks like 1.0 will improve both animations and audio =)

Hey, D4 player here. Just bought Last Epoch because it looked awesome, and your video was so obnoxiously preachy I’m glad I didn’t see it before I bought the game or I might have overlooked it. I love the fact that it has an actual Necromancer class, and if I had seen this video I might not have experienced the bliss of going through and enjoying a minion build that didn’t suck. Thank god I didn’t see this until after I was done buying and playing it for 40 hours in 3 days

Path of Exile: I have Fireball that freezes everyone, fires it from my Totem and actually deals Poison damage, instead of Fire. Also it returns back after some time.
