    If you cut the governor arm above the clip notch you can slide it out without removing the crank. You can then cut it again at the 45° but leave the ears on it so you can remove the burs and slide it back in and use the factory clip to secure it.

    Does removing the ring gear for the governor increase the end play on the crank?

    • @nicsminibikes
      @nicsminibikes  Рік тому

      Nope, there is a shoulder on the crank that takes care of the end play.

    Would incorrect value clearance cause the motor to not start

    Was able to follow the video well but when I got to removing the crank shaft I can’t get it out? Does anyone know what it can be stuck on? I took rod off and now the crankshaft will move forward and backwards a bit. But won’t budge all the way out.

    • @nicsminibikes
      @nicsminibikes  5 місяців тому

      Cam is out I would imagine and piston is pushed all the way to the top and flywheel is off? U'll have to look inside and make sure the crank balance weights are not hitting anything

    • @jonathanhurst5904
      @jonathanhurst5904 5 місяців тому +1

      @@nicsminibikes the cams out, flywheels off, piston didn’t wanna go into the top after taking rod off but then I got it pushed up but crank still wouldn’t wanna come out. I’ll check the weights next. Cause I’m not sure why else it wouldn’t come out

    • @nicsminibikes
      @nicsminibikes  5 місяців тому

      @@jonathanhurst5904 ya it should just slide out. U can also maybe get in there with something to cut the hockey stick looking end off and not need to remove the whole crank. If ur pulling the whole top governor rod out and plugging the hole u can cut the part of it that sticks out the top and u should be able to get the rod out but u won't be able to set the the throttle up like I did in the video.

    • @jonathanhurst5904
      @jonathanhurst5904 5 місяців тому

      I don’t have anything to cut it with unfortunately. I tried just pulling the gov arm out without taking crank off but it would get stuck on the crank right before it was all the way out.

    How fast does a 224 go stock with this governor removed?!

    • @nicsminibikes
      @nicsminibikes  11 місяців тому

      Probably around 30-35 also will depend on your gearing

  • @smokey4002

    How risky is taking the governor off on a stock 224cc and will it make it less risk of blowing the engine if I get 18ib valves springs?

    • @nicsminibikes
      @nicsminibikes  2 роки тому

      Adding the 18lb springs will help to not have valve float. The motor will Rev higher without the governor. I highly recommend billet rod and flywheel with a governor removal.
