Nic's Mini Bikes
United States
Приєднався 1 січ 2022
On this channel we will be fixing and building mini bikes that have been forgotten and neglected. Anything from tote gotes from the 1960s and 1970s to the popular Coleman minis we see everyone crusing around on. We won't be too worried about upgrading these predator motors that we will be using, as I do sell most of these minis when they are all done. The motors on the bikes we do keep will probably get some love though! From building, to experiments just to see what happens for science... come along for the ride, as my kids Charles, Kaitlyn, Benjamin, maybe Thomas and I try to build something everyone will enjoy! Nibbi PE26fl Carb Cleaning! BT200X Repair From The GPS180! Part 1!
Welcome back! We're going to start working on getting the Coleman BT200X fixed back up after the GPS180! First thing we're going to do is look at this Nibbi PE26FL carb we were running! We had gas flowing like a river out of the air filter! I'm 99% sure its the unnecessary pulse pump we have on the bike mixed with the rough terrain bouncing the bike and making the float bounce letting in to much fuel. We're going to clean the carb anyways though! #nibbi #bt200x #colemanpowersports #racerproquip #sheddderhead

I recommend you get the 6271 arc rod the piston will be at zero deck
I'm just curious how much is it in the hole how many thousands
The 6271 billet arc rod will put u at zero deck height the 6270 the one u got puts about 20 thousands in the hole
Ya the 6270 is what came with the kit. I've measured it since this video and its way way in the hole like .045-.050 in the hole.
Thinking a 6266 it's a +.040 rod
I got a 224 predator and my piston is at zero deck with 6271 rod
I got a 224 block and I'm running the 6271 billet rod and my piston
Ya the deck height on the rpq 236 block must be different than a 224
Those😮 are not made to do red neck riding
What width is your rear axle?
I don't remember for sure it's either a 44 inch or a 40 inch
Dude that's awesome..👍🙂 "Do not win thr first time around, when the last time around"
"Say...thats a nice bike" 🙂👍 Great video. I got Into mini bikes a year ago...better late than never...my only thoughts for myself are.. having spare parts laying around is a good idea.
Thanks!
@@nicsminibikes"No problemo" 👍
@@jeff7389 at this point it seems like having an extra engine ready to go in wouldn't be a bad idea for us!
👍👍great video 👍👍
Hey I just got a 28mm Nibbi Flat Slide for Christmas and I'm wondering if my gravity feed set up alone will be enough to keep it running when I really get on the throttle or will the carb bowl empty and cause it to hesitate? Do you use a fuel pump?
I was running a fuel pump in this and off road riding the hills and bumps I think were letting the fuel over power the needle and seat because the float was bouncing. I'd run it without a pump as long as u are gravity feeding the carb.
@@nicsminibikes Ok I'll try it out with no pump and see how it does. Yeah I got the motorcycle type gas tank sitting on the frame bar between seat and handlebars so the fuel line is all downhill to carb. Hopefully it won't be too much of a pain in the butt to get tuned in properly.
@JNC1973 just have patience and take your time you'll get it!
I have the same Nibbi 24mm carb and the float level was set too high out of the box. I'm running a 120 main jet with a #40 pilot and it's a little lean but I'm at 350 feet elevation here in California. I might try raising the needle up 1 notch. Those carbs don't like to run tilted the float just bounces and floods. Happy new year!
These jets were for the go power sports 180 in November in Gradford TX. It was at about 960 feet elevation. It's a 110 main and a 40 pilot clip in the middle. It was running awesome till it started flooding out.
@@nicsminibikes Seems like they are all a little different but the same. Maybe try a new float needle if it keeps flooding? I think they are made so you have to keep tinkering with them... and make more great videos!
@@fanofoldfans9238 ya well get it rolling again and tinker with it more. Do a little more off road testing this time.
Inspiring me to bust out my old tote tote mini bike an take it for a cruise
It's always a blast to take one for a ride!
My dad and I just got these. The white little fuel filter when you open up the lid of the tank fell in, on both of ours 😂 has this happened to anyone else?
😂 dang it! My kids normally lose mine at the fill for the tank. It's no big deal it can just float around in there if u don't want to get it out. There is a second filter at the petcock where gas goes to the engine.
@ I know both my dad and I were shocked it happened literally 1 minute apart 😂 I was just worried the tank would get hot and they’d start to deteriorate. That’s good to hear, we’ll probably remove the gas and try to fish it out. Thanks!
Do you know if the 270 will have the same piston to deck height stock? 0.050?
good job bro!
Thanks! It's always something with one of these dang bikes! I enjoy working on them tho!
It doesn't sound right
One thing I wish Coleman stuck to is the extended oil drain neck for changing the oil. The older models have them and they're awesome. Every time I switched the factory engines to a predator, I switched the drain neck too. I never liked draining the oil on the frame. The B200 is going to be my next minibike, can't wait!
It's a nice bike fo sho! Ya I've seen those extensions they look nice. The oil does go everywhere when changing it. I'm pretty sure u can get them.
Considering this mini bike
We like it fo sho! The full suspension and the frame is nice and beefy.
I can understand the young guys wanting to rip through mud. I do what I can to avoid it. This past riding season here in Ohio was very dry from drought. Even with an oiled filter I was a bit worried about dust ingestion. Maintenance after rides wasn't too bad though. Both of my bikes have been winterized. Can't wait til spring. I say do the B200 next.
Ya he'll take the bike out and has fun and that's what it's for I guess. Kind of annoying but I'm glad he's outside being a kid and it's nothing that can't be fixed.
Looks like you guys had a little fun. Did you get your bikes fixed yet? We want to check out PMI maybe this weekend. Thanks.
We haven't got anything fixed yet
@@nicsminibikes Takes time to get parts. New front brakes on the Warrior 224. Will try to get some ride along footage.
Ya and being Christmas time parts are not to high on the priority list unfortunately u know
So it’s one wheel peel now?
Yep opened up a whole different pile of issues on the other side of the spectrum!
I’m in the process of converting a Baja Warrior to a trike. Reason being is the built 420 has too much torque. Originally I had engine on a F&B pro stock frame. So now bike is becoming a trike with jr dragster rear wheels and tires and a 17” solid billet front wheel.
Sound like an awesome build
Looks like you got a lot to work to do to them bikes 👍👍
Alot of things went wrong that shouldn't have. To complacent and rushing bit us I think.
Glad you all made it home safe! Thanks again for your help during the race. I appreciate you.
What a shit show of a drive home! Haha Oh well safe and sound is all that matters!
Where can I buy that front wheel and tire
shetleykartsupply.mybigcommerce.com/12-inch-aluminum-mag-wheel-with-z-50-hub-for-12mm-axles-silver-or-black/ if ur going to run it on a bt200x or any of the ct200 variants u'll need a hub that has the 15mm bearings.
can I just put a clone flywheel and a gov delete and ride like that as is?
If u are talking billet then yes u can run it like that. I would keep it under 4500 and get a billet rod sooner rather than later
@ what if it’s not a billet you think over time it would cause issues? cause I was going to replace the stock flywheel with a aluminum flywheel off Amazon or something
@JoshuaPadilla-d2f ya those are fine too. The Amazon ones have 18 degrees timing. I prefer a racer proquip cast aluminum flywheel a little more expensive but they come with 28 degrees timing. That's what u want at least 28 degrees. Once u decide to upgrade the cam most will want 32 or more degrees of timing and it will be much easier to get there with that racer proquip flywheel.
Did the 301 bolt right up?
No not even close I had to make special mounting brackets for it.
Can't wait to see what's up with the 236. I was thinking about building one for my Coleman 200x. I wish there were minibike events like that in so cal. But in Bakersfield, we have a lot of open areas. Don't even need to trailer the bikes. Good fun...
Ya I'm hoping it's just a carb set up problem and or valve lash issue
So what do you think it was with the carbs? Altitude change? I recall from watching a few videos last year... That track looks difficult in spots.
I think last years track was worse. I was and still am over that damn bike! I haven't even looked at it since we put them away! I think its a combo of running a unnecessary pulse pump bouncing on rock and the steep up and down angles of the hills. The pump was able to over power the needle and float flooding it out. That's my guess, pumps got to go. Dirty needle and seat maybe. It did the same thing to us last year same carb and pump set up but different engine.
@@nicsminibikes Oh wow. The only thing I found with running gravity feed from the stock tank to the slide carb is that once fuel level gets to a certain point it will no longer flow well. It's like it's not all the way empty but near empty.
@@Deucealive75 ya it's like with the angle the fuel line has to be to the carb u can't quite get it flat enough. I'll be getting into it probably next week.
Great to see y’all 👍👍
Fo sho! We'll have to hang out more next year! I'm going to build a new bike and team up with a kid from Texas that's been running the jr race the last few years. I'm going to take a step back and let him and chuck run the main 180 together. I'm just to big of a sissy! LOL
@@nicsminibikes LOL , yes we need to hang out more next year sir , we will see y’all there 👍
Awesome. Thank you for doing this
Love the music what song is it
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
We removed the governor on my 224 right out of the box. I haven't tested rpm but managed 52 mph on my MB200 with no other mods. It has plenty of power out of the box in my opinion. Thanks for posting.
Haven't found any new bearings yet that came fully packed with grease. I did my jackshaft bearings and will be doing wheels next. Where is your local track? I'm in Pueblo. Thanks.
We run at honor speedway at pmi. Maybe we'll see u out there next season!
@@nicsminibikes Maybe as a spectator. My racing days over, more interested in exploring trails now. Maybe check it out when I get my MB200 fixed up. Thanks.
@phatmotocat the more we get running around the track with us the better!
@@nicsminibikes Cool, my friend has a yellow Hurricane. We want to ride out that way sometime. I hate winters. Thanks.
Thank you for making this video
Had fun racing! :)
The GPS180 is always a blast! I wish our bike would have lasted longer!
@ this year was my friends and I’s first year. My bike was did great until the last turn of the last lap when the cvt sucked up the chain. I had to run it to the finish 😂. We also brought my friends fully rigid db30 and that only made it 3 laps before going out of commission.
@cameronscott2948 nice our carbs float got stuck and kept flooding the engine and eventually the motor just wouldn't start and stay running.
Good times !!
I didn't get any video during the race my camera mount was to floppy I didn't want to lose my 360 4x!
@ same here . Next time
Hi nick it is bailey
Hey Nic, you make that chain breaker look easy. I had to put a pipe wrench on mine to hold it in place . I need one of those sprocket alignment tools for my MB 200-2. Try a 45 or 47 tooth rear sprocket. Cool
These alignment tools are pretty cool they help out a lot. I'll edit the description and throw a link in there for u! I got a 60 tooth on it now. I have a 50t and a 40t I think we're going to try the 40t out and see how it does.
@nicsminibikes i put a 40t on my mb200-2 and bumped up top end to 60mph with a built 224, then I ran out of room. Plenty of low end torque.
What does that bike top out at MPH wise with that gearing?
I haven't checked the top speed in awhile. With a 50t on the back we were hitting 60mph so with a 60t on there we should be a little less.
Hei nic, I noticed you have a comet belt. Would that belt work on a mega moto 212 pro with a tillotson 212? If so a link for the belt please.
Takes a little measuring to get the correct belt but it isn't to hard. This link will help u get the correct belt for ur set up. www.gokartsupply.com/mobile/tcbelts.htm
I have that same thing with the 224 and 9/60 gearing. It's just too much but works great with a milder engine. Earlier this year I had a stock 196 on it with a VM22 clone and the stock 224 muffler. Was a great combo that was more fun and easier to ride than with the 224. Let us know if you like the chain or not. I use RK chains but was thinking about trying something different.
This chain stretched a lot at the GPS180 race. It didn't break but it stretched alot
Ya it's a fun combo but this 224 is a beast. I need more power to get it to settle out and not stand on the front end.
👍👍
What carb do u have I am biulding a mini drift cart on my Chanel and was wondering
The carb on my 301 is an Amazon special for a gx390. It's like 2 or 3mm bigger than the stock 301 carb if I remember right.
Awesome video, would degreaser work as far as cleaning goes? And would dry slide work too? And where did you get the comet belt? Thanks
Ya I don't see why degreaser wouldn't work. I try to use what I have on hand so steel wool and carb cleaner is what I used. I'll have to look for a link for the belt I'll get back to u. I don't know what dry slide is I've never heard of it.
Great idea using dry graphite spray on the guts. Have you tried the 3rd preload hole on the driven pulley yet? Still deciding if I want to install a 301cc engine in my BT200x?
I have always ran it in the center hole where it comes from factory. When I put it back together this time I did move it to the 3rd hole. This thing scares the crap out of me lol. Stands the front end right up.
Great video
Thanks bud. Some maintenance getting ready for the gps 180 in case we get to go!
@@nicsminibikes hope to see you there 👍
Had my driven apart recently. For me it wasn't the snap ring that wouldn't come off, it was the fixed cam. Have you ever changed the jackshaft bearings? I replaced mine with very little time on them. Didn't trust them.
Ya I fought that dang snap ring and getting the driven apart
I'm in the same situation. Thanks
Great video sir 👍
Thanks man!
Awesome video. Really helps for all the young ppl that will look onto UA-cam installing bearing on thier mini bikes.
Thanks man. Everytime I turn around it's something or another! We just need this bike ready for the gps180 next month. It will be this bikes 3rd time running that race! I'm scared and nervous about it at the same time! 😂
What modifications did you have to do to the engine playe
This engine is a clapped out Honda gx390. It has a pod filter and an exhaust pipe and nothing else. It's now sitting in the back of the garage in a puddle of its own oil waiting for me to get parts to rebuild it.
