Lol your introduction is amazing for anyone who gets the inside joke. Also, yeah -- getting a suit there was one of the best purchases I made so far in my 30s. Going to get a few more suits from there when I'm in town next.
Glad you mentioned they offer tailor shirts. I had some made off shore on a trip as well. They were super high end and felt and looked great.
I heading to tailor on ten later this year for holidays. Will tell them Forrest sent me. I’m super excited.
I have a fantastic tailor in BKK. He's trained in Paris and has quality similar to Brioni or Zegna. But he's not cheap (suits start at around US $1,800) and requires 3 visits over 3 weeks. So very hard for a foreigner to order unless staying in BKK a long time. You'll spend much more than the type of tailors featured in videos like this, but you get what you pay for.
who is it? I am looking for a good tailor to get a bespoke suit that actually cuts their suits in house. non of the glued canvas, sown in a sweatshop kind of thing that most of the "bespoke" tailors in Bangkok do is ok for me.
Narin Couture. But you have to pay up. @@dankyden
@@dankyden There are actually quite a few, but they are typically not along Sukhumvit and appointment-only.
Examples would be:
1. Toast bespoke
2. Asymtory
3. Sartoria Katia
4. Heimspoke
5. Jin Tonic
There are more, but this is a good start.
love the intro, i didn't think you were going that way....and love the whole process. Great to hear about a good place to find the right suit.
Super cool video.👍 I thoroughly enjoyed the A-Z process! Thank You!
Wearing a suit in Thailand?! 😂 I’d be sweating like a pig.
Exactly what I wanted to say :))
@@janmeissner9093 If you know, you know 👍😎👍☀️
Most customers are tourists and I guess the locals need suits for weddings etc 😉
Uniqlo Airism undershirt, thank me later
I've been wearing suits to events in BKK and most events are indoors with AC.... And yes some events are outdoors and it's not to bad in winter time.
I’m a female… but I’m just love men’s tailored suits! This was a joy to watch 👍
It's refreshing to see a video on this subject from Thailand dealing with what's important. Selecting the material is vital and staying away from Chinese milled cloth is a must. Well because it goes to quality, the Italians and the English know how to weave woolen cloth to high standards and they've had centuries of experience. Before cutting and style you've got to select the right cloth, that comes first.
If I ever travel to Bangkok Thailand. I will consider first day to stop by Tailor On Ten to start the process. Plus purchase a few pairs of shirts and slacks. Plus 1-2 jackets.
ZZ Top: Every girl is crazy about a sharp dressed man.
Great content Forrest- the guy you worked with seems very service oriented. Reminds me of an upscale Tommy Bahama style space. The suit looks nice on you. 😊
The irony is that BKK is the best place in the world for affordable custom suits, yet the climate is way too hot to wear anything more than a T shirt and shorts.
Turkey is better bro
Makes sense then
That was a really good video and i'll be adding Tailor on Ten to my hit list next time i'm in Bangers.
Can you tell us how much it cost you, approximately, for the suit you had made? It turned out great! Thank you for the video.
This was an excellent video. I can't wait to check them out. I love everything about them. Cheers!
Excellent video, I have had 2 suits made with this tailor - 1 in a Holland and Sherry bunch; 1 in a Harris Tweed and its excellent overall and will commission another soon .The choice of cloth bunch is extensive .
Excellent video my friend and I agree with you. I’d rather pay more for better quality. Thanks again. Also, as a result of your excellent video, I am subscribing to your channel.
I've had a suit and countless shirts made. My suggestion is to find a place and have them make one single dress shirt. If they do a great job, you've found your place.
Thanks for the information I will check them out when I come
I will def pay these guys a visit on my next trip to BKK. Thx for the Vid Forrest, I would have never known they were on Soi 8
Cheers!
heres my honest recommendation on one thiing thatt can be improved. 1) the length of the suit sleeve- if you wear a watch with that suit, it would be completely drowned out. it is best for the white shirt sleeve to be quarter of an inch longer than the suit sleeve. Apart from that, ths is a great look on you my brother
Agree and complementing…the shoulders are too wide for him and the sleeve opening is also too large. Adding the previously mentioned sleeve that is too long, I am thinking that maybe both Taylor and customer drunk too manny!
What was the ballpark cost for your suit? Also, what is the starting cost for a new suit there?
Bout 30k THB for a nice, tailored suit
23900k THB, Italian, Vitale Barberis Canonico
I purchased a suit and a blazer as well as matching belt and custom made shoes from a bespoke taylor. Excellent quality. I'm gonna go check it out again my closet. I don't wear much. I will have to check that place out. Thank you. Excellent video.
Nice. Wondering if there are any specific or special kind of fabrics that is better for summer or winter?
Because Thailand is super hot so I'm thinking that they would sell special fabrics that'll work well in hot weathers.
If they don’t sell HeatGeared suits to keep you cool in the super hot weather, this title should be named ‘The only place you should not visit while in Bangkok or Thailand for that matter.’
Yes, they have very light-weight woolen fabrics, as well as linen.
Thanks for the video. Looking fit, Forrest!
Hey young man this is a good recommendation to all of the guys for me I'm surprised by the trailer shop still being around . excellent jobs
Too see the shop again.
From what I can judge from the video, the shoulders are too wide, the sleeves are too wide and too long. By the third fitment, the neck gap can't be judged properly, because of the unbuttoned collar. Aside from that, there's too much room in the chest area, next to the arm holes. The bunching up of the material is pretty bad there. I'm not trying to hate on the tailor, but I think they could do a better job.
Love your work. Keep going.
I know of “Indian” tailor shops that send their work to “sweat shops” in BKK or Pattaya. These shops hire most of their laborers from Isaan.
Tailoring is very affordable in most of the region. If you live there and you're a size that's hard to buy for locally you can have your more casual clothes custom made, too.
I might need a suit when I visit Thailand. Thx for the video and recommendation.
Prices?
Great video! That looks like a top level place to go. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this video. I was literally just researching tailor shops.
Enjoy!
All I wanna say is that when u visit a tailor for the first time, pay attention the how the tailor is dressed? Because if the tailor or cutter isn’t impeccably dressed then what hope does the customer have..
Looking good Forrest! Thanks for the tip on a good tailor! I 've been wanting to buy a suit on BKK.
Travelled every year to BKK between 2005 and 2015 and used them every year. Was back last year first time after Covid and I was told they were closed. Happy to see that is not the case. Will go there again for sure. It is not cheap, but I tried another Tailor in BKK last year and it was not great.
Yes! Been wanting a video like this!
A tailored suit is the first necessity in 35C degree heat and 95% humidity :-)
I’m so happy, my lifestyle is such where I will never have to wear a suit again
I'll buy a suit here in June. Thanks fot the video
I very much enjoyed this oh so informative video Forrest. I'm curious . . . when I watched your other video, a tour of your own condo, you had quite a stock of skin care products and this got me thinking. Have you done any videos on hair transplant surgery in Bangkok ? Could one save considerable money having it done there without sacrificing quality of procedure or health safety. I could see you doing numerous vid's on various cosmetic surgical options ie. hair transplants, eye brow, eye lid lifts, facial treatments etc. for expats.
Did you mention the type of material and total cost for your suit?
How much you paid ?
Rajawongse Clothier is the best...legendary.
What was the price for the suit?
Yeah we needed the ballpark price to get an idea also curious for those of us in shorter trips if we can get the fittings done quickly and then if they can ship it back to the USA once the fitting is done
23900k THB, Italian, Vitale Barberis Canonico
Nice one bro, tailor on ten looks awesome, in-house factor is heaps appealing. I recently got a tailored suit and shirts from Narry's, that was nice too.
Yes got a custom dress shirt made in under 24 hours in Bangkok. $37
Is the suit made with foaling canvas or fused canvas?
Jazz music in the background? Classy.
Great video... I will go there.
...and their website is really good looking. This is pro and they are sure to make everything they do looking the best.
It seems to me that in the final two minutes of the video, the sleeves have too many folds... Am I wrong?
I like you bro, gotta ask where are all the suits you say you bought? No cut away shots..?
Could you please, mention if the places you go to is wheelchair friendly, please. Thank you
Love this episode.
Almost no occasion for the average Joe to wear a nice suit. But if you need a suit, this is a great option.
Wow.. that suit looks Dope! 🔥
got 2 on my last trip
Are these suits half canvassed or fully canvassed?
I was wondering the same thing
Half canvassed
Fully canvassed suit at my BKK tailor starts at $2,500.
Very good looking suit there. If you don't mind, what was the USD cost of your suit to give me an idea of how much to spend that kind of quality suit.
23900k THB ($730 USD) Italian, Vitale Barberis Canonico
Nice. That suit looks good on you.
I really need to have my suit tailored…I’ve some weight since I’ve been here. Can they tailor my already bought suit?
The arms on this suit is off, and especially the length of the sleeves are not correct.
He’s back 🎉
The suit looks damn good on you.
Looking good, brooooooo
Thanks Vivi!
Just found your channel...dope vlogs
REALLY Forrest Lee you came so under dressed in a fine establishment.
Great looking tailor shop...can you provide the location in BKK?
Soi 8 I believe, google maps is your friend ;)
Links in the description
How much was the suit?
How much it cost for your suits ?
I can back up the statement that most of the tailors send clothes away.
Today I walked into a local Indian tailor on sukhumvit and asked if they could simply take up some jeans which are a bit too long for me. He quoted 300 THB, I asked for 200 THB then he told me they will have to send it away. Pretty pathetic a tailor that can’t do something so simple. These suits look great at Tailor on Ten though.
don't go to the tailors. Go to the thai local shops/stands that have a sewing machine and they will do that for you for like 80 baht.
@@method341 Thanks I know for next time
Curious, where do you go for dental care if an unexpected tooth is fractured while eating? Would you mind making a video about dental care?
Looks like a million bucks! 🍻
Good looking suit. Thank you for sharing
Used to wear suits to work every day but times have changed and I haven't worn a suit in 7 or 8 years. Got one left in my closet just in case. The others donated to charity.
How much did you pay?
What was the price
Hard to take seriously when this tailor leaves you with sleeves that are way too long. Shoulders are a bit weak. No idea whether buttons functional. Notch lapel meh. Fit is awkward imho. Looks off the rack to me. 🤷🏿
I concur. 3 fittings, and they still thought the sleeves were ok ? Yikes !!
@@russianwolfhound1 literally every thai suit video the sleeves are too long
The price for the suit that you are going to get is the savings of the taxes that you were going to pay in California 😂😂
At the end, the suit looks great on you
Definitely thought you was about to do a vid on Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza
Nah, I don't need them. I wasted so much money to only wearing it once or never. Then years and years pass my tailor made suites turned yellow, dirty, old and out of fashion.
Love it!
Another excellent video. However , I am not sure that I agree with the Thai suit-economics equation here. Clearly this is a high quality good looking suit. No doubt about that. I assume he must have paid (or you will pay) at least 20,000 baht for it. On Sukhumvit you can get a suit (one fitting ) for under 6000 baht. Obviously the quality is not the same but I challenge most people to actually tell the difference. Now, again obviously and most significantly, the cheaper variant is not going to last as long as the high quality variant but, it should last a couple of years at least and then you go buy another (and another). My experience in London is that one wears suits far less ( I find it hard to believe that the Thai tailor business has not changed) and so it should last even longer. One needs to remember that over time fashions change as, more importantly, does one's body.( The latter has implications especially for slim fitting suits.). My only advice to Forrest is that if he wants the suit dry cleaned he needs to go to proper dry cleaner and not the average one you find in BK.
Still not bad, get two good suits custom for 1k is excellent
I get my suits at a tailor on Sukhumvit. They start at 60,000 baht. You get what you pay for.
I don't know "more fitted", my dad bod may say otherwise, good video as always.
😂😂😂
I took your advice and got one made up from there. Fitting is in a week. Price was not cheap to say the least but I hope the quality is there.
What was the price for your suit? Curious and hope you don’t mind me asking.
@@emiliopelaez607 I paid around $1000 AUD which was good value considering the quality. In Baht I think it was about 25,000 THB
how did it turn out? would want to be good for 1000 bucks@@johnrudzinski3217
If I wear this fancy suit to a massage parlor, will they charge me double?
Love the shop
Your go-to guy has an I’ll fitting suit, look at the gap back of neck.
As a world traveling man, I was expecting a walking street in Bangkok or Pattaya. How disappointing. 😆
Everyone’s an expert, but for me way too much material on the sleeves ! All that rucking up & sleeves look way too long. That said i love a good suit so very informative
bro you could have given us a price range lol
Ah... but you haven't tried the royal tailor yet....
Wool suit in 90 degree weather? Hard Pass. But does look nice.
Dude, nobody is coming to Thailand to get tailor made suits 😂 😂
I do.
Taylor on ten…not one of my needs and desires in Bangkok 😂
Tailor off 10 on 8
Assuming Tailor On-line is taken😜
There is a gap on his collar 🤔
